Hello Friends! Today I have this fun page to share with you:
I have to confess, I shot the video of the above page and botched the ink jet transfer at the end and ran out of time so I had to reshoot. I like the way I drew the mermaid better on the first page though. I still managed to botch the ink jet transfer on the second page but then I realized what I did wrong. The sticker backing paper I was using for the transfer only works well if you transfer immediately and I had let 45 minutes elapse before using it. Also I found that using a plastic sheet was better for 3 reasons because you can see where the transfer is going, it is not as slippery to handle so there is less chance of smudging, and the ink stays wetter on the plastic. I have that demo in another video at the end of this post. But first here are the techniques to make the page:
How was that for good inky fun? Now, without further ado, here is the better way to do an ink jet transfer:
I want to thank Oriental Trading Company for supplying the Canson XL journal, Micron Pens and India Inks I used today. You can find my Homemade Spray ink tutorial here. Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
Hi Lindsay! I’m not sure if it’s just me but I have had a problem with your last several videos. The audio and the visual don’t match up. The audio goes way ahead of the visual. It’s almost like the visual is in slow motion. I just wondered if anyone else had this problem or its on my end.
Thank you!

Hi, Lindsay. You are a gas! I wonder if you’ve ever used Brusho Crystal Colors (watercolor ink crystals)? Any opinions, if so? If not, YOU may wish to try them they are sure to get you & your workspace inky.

I was wondering if the inkjet writing could be placed down before painting and then cover it with a Sharpie marker and it not run? I could do the lettering first then paint. Thanks.
