25% off last day and cute new papers!

Happy Halloween! Today is the last day of the Halloween weekend sale at Lindsay’s stamp Stuff:

Here is a new Bold Black & White paper pack I put in the shop yesterday, It is black and white so you can print  it on colored cardstock and save ink! Also black and white paper are easy to recolor, simply go under “adjust” in your photo software and “hue, lightness, saturation” and play with the sliders until you get the color you want, it is soooo easy! I can’t wait to play with these papers myself!

If you need a last minute Halloween costume look no further than my Masquerade mask set, you can cut the masks with your Cricut machine and SCAL software or use the printables to hand cut, fun!

Have a fun safe Halloween night, looks like we might have snow when we go trick-o-treating (poor Tinkerbell will have to wear a snowsuit under her costume) but with a bag full of candy as incentive I’m sure they will brave the weather just fine đŸ™‚

Remember the 25% off Halloween sale is over at Midnight so don’t miss out on the treats (no tricks!) at Lindsay’s! Happy Halloween and Happy Crafting too!

Go-Go-Go!

That’s the theme over at Raise the Bar Challenges this week and I was one of the top 3 there last week so they asked me to be one of the guest “Bar Tenders” this week. Here is the card I made:

I used Steampunk Style Stamps from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff on this card, I colored the image with Prismacolor markers. I used a birthday definition rubber stamp on this card because, let’s face it you can never have too many birthday themed guy cards, I’ll be ready the next time a man I know has a birthday! Why not play along at raise the bar this week and you might get picked to be a Bar Tender yourself:) In addition to Raise the bar this card qualifies for these other challenges: Aly’s Sunday Challenges , Sentimental Sundays (distressed), Cards for Men (anything goes) and  Stamping Boutique (fall colors)

Halloween and Flamingos

Wow, is it Thursday already? This week was blur, starting with my son’s birthday (where I forgot my camera), my daughters Daisy Scout Halloween party (where I also forgot my camera) to my kids karate class where I remembered my camera (but left my memory card back home in the computer) and yesterday in a mad dash to help my daughter with her research paper and I misplaced her bright orange folder with ALL of the assignment details in it! More about the flamingos later….

But luckily I had my moment (albeit brief) of zen in my craft room where I made this quick card with Vintage Halloween labels digistamps from Lindsay’s stamp stuff:

Now, every now and then I like a shortcut, I keep a stash of 5″x7″ cards and envelopes in white and cream on hand all the time. You can buy them in packs of 50 for $5 (on sale) at AC Moore or JoAnns around the holidays. To give my store-bought envelope a homemade touch I stamped a flourish in the corner and cut a piece of houndstooth paper use as an envelope liner. I used the black and white houndstooth paper from the Uptown Houndstooth paper pack.

This card qualifies for the following challenges: 2 sisters,    (anything goes), By the cute and girly , ohh la la, Simon Says stamp (Spooky), Crafty CAtz ( black 7 white + one colors), Crafty creations, Crazy 4 Challenges, Dutch DAre, MySherri crafts,  Paper Playtime (Halloween) and Tuesday Taggers (Halloween + purple)

Need some more last-minute Halloween ideas? Check out these spooky sets from Lindsay’s stamp stuff:

And now for the freebie, I made this SVG cutting file for my daughters flamingo report (I cut the birds and the word flamingo, handed her markers, glue and poster board and hoped for the best:) and I thought that maybe you might like the file too especially with it being breast cancer awareness month and we are all loving the pink! Gratitude (and faux brads)

Hello folks. I saw a fun tutorial at Splitcoast stampers a week or two ago on making faux brads out of paper. I decided to try it too, I made some to use on the scrapbook page on this post (I followed the directions on that one) and then yesterday when I was making this card out of leftovers on my craft table I decided to try it with only paper (no cardboard layer underneath and it worked! You must use thick paper though:

I use an Anna Griffin stamp I bout years ago, stamped it on white and trimmed in a circle then mounted it on a bigger white circle and inked the edges for a faux nestie look and colored it with watercolor crayons, so easy! Here is a close up of the paper brads:

This whole card was made of scraps, i love it when I can make something out of leftovers, it’s like a freebie! This card qualifies for the following challenges: Charisma Cards (vintage), No Time To Stamp (thankfulness), Stamping With Dragon (use ink), top tip Tuesday (anything goes), Wild Orchid (pastel colors)

Sweet Baby Cards

TGIF! I’ve had a great week and I am really looking forward to the weekend any my son’s birthday party, it is hard to believe that 8 years ago I became a mom, wow, I’ve had babies on the brain I guess and was inspired to make these cards with my brand new Sweet Baby SVG set:

Templates: SWeet Baby CArds (Lindsay's Stamp stuff), Pattern paper: BoBunny

These cards a quick to cut with your Cricut machine and SCAL software or you can cut them by hand using the included printable templates. The scalloped oval and circle layers are included in the Sweet Baby CArds kit too.

here is a look at the rattle card right side up;)
Here is the card open, the top scallop circle lifts up to giva a space for a greeting

Another cool thing about these templates is that the diaper card can be used as a favor pouch just by changing the score lines.  See the printable templates for directions.

This set qualifies for the following challenges:Card of the Week (die cutters), Craft Garden (pink ribbon-diaper card), Lots to do (shaped cards), MelJens , top tip tuesday (anything goes) and scrappekammeret (something girly)

Make die-cuts “POP!”

Since my son is having his birthday party this week I decided it was about time I scrapbooked the photos from last years birthday party. He had a bowling party last year so I used my new Bowling fun Clip Art & SVG set and Bowling Fun Papers which are 40% off today only along with everything else at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff {mygrafico shop only} and made this:

Want to print 12″ pattern paper but only have a standard 8.5″ wide printer? Here’s how: Use legal size paper (8.5″x14″) and  use the legal size setting in your printer. Click “center on paper” and set the scale to 100% and select landscape orientation if your paper will be used horizontally or portrait if the design will be used vertically. Then pint, think of all of the cool borders, titles and papers you can make. You can get a 12″x8.25″ printed piece of paper this way!

It's easy to give your die cuts dimention. Ink, layer and highlight! Thes svg die cutting files are included in the Bowling Fun set!

Now lets talk about die cuts. You can use your cricut machine and scal software to make cute paper pieced embellishments. To give them more dimension try inking the edges with brown chalk ink (I like chestnut roan by colorbox-the small cat’s eye size) before piecing then adding white highlights with a gel pen (Ranger Inksentials is the best!) You will have a custom multi layer look that is so cool! Here are some close ups of the bowling fun die cuts on the scrapbook page:

The word “Strike” was simply cut from a font (LD buttercream) I just typed it in scal, clicked weld and cut to get my letters to link together…that was all there is to it, easy peasy!

And here is a quick journaling tag I made with one of the clip art designs in the set, you get so much in this kit!

This project qualifies for the following challenges: Corrosive (no white paper), Craftilicious, Inky Impressions, PaperKutz, PearTree (anything goes), Crafty Calendar (birthdays), Cupcake Craft (boys and their toys), Kabers Challenges (kids) and Raise the BAr (hobby/sport/interest)

And here is a look at the 2 sets I used today, I just released them in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop this week, grab them today and save 40%!

And now here is your freebie, a fun little wizard owl click he pic then right click to download đŸ™‚

Pretty Pins for Pennies!

I hope you are having an awesome Monday, I’ve played in my art room today so it is good for me đŸ˜‰ I was playing with some of the goodies I just got from Sew True last week (they have a free shipping coupon today only: 10101F ) and I wanted to show you what I made:

Supplies: Seam Binding, Pins (Sewtrue.com), Rubber Stamps: About Art Accents plate #109 Cats, Pillow Box Template: Lindsay's stamp Stuff Pretty Packaging set

I cut the pillow box from the Pretty Packaging SVG set from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff using my Cricut Machine and SCAL software (or you can use the printable templates in the kit) then I layered some pattern paper and on top and tied some crinkled seam binding that I got on clearance from sewtrue.com (the clearance seambinding is $4 a 100 yard roll, I used lilac) and I sprayed it with water, scrunched it up and dried it in seconds with my embossing heat gun. Then I stamped my sentiment and butterflies from About Art Accents in clear ink on white cardstock and used a pom-pom to dab colored chalk onto my design for a soft multi color (and super quick) look!

This box qualifies for the challenge at Oriental Stamp Art, 2sketchs 4 you, City Crafter (wings), Craftalicious (anything goes) and  Papertake Weekly (3 of a kind-3 pins)

read the tutorail below to see how to make these pins for less than a penny!

I made the decorative pins on this card. They are so quick and easy, not to mention pretty and trendy and they cost less than a penny to make! Here is what you will need to make your pins:

Beads (I used the leftover oddballs from past jewelery projects-free to me!)

Size 24 (1 1/2″) strait pins (box of 2250 for $12-wow, that’s a lot of pins, share with a friend!)

Glue for glass and metal (I used perfect glue for crafts)

That’s all there is to it! So the next time you are looking at the expensive fancy-schmancy pins in the scrapbook shop remember that you can make about 10 for a penny with stuff you likley already have.
