Boy oh boy, between my die cutting machine, new Copic markers and rediscovering my airbrush I am a happy crafty camper!
Stamps: House Mouse, MSE!, PP: DCWV, CArdstock: Bazzil, Punch: Martha Stewart
I cut and embossed the mat for this card using Penny Duncan’s nesting file. Then I stamped this cute house mouse stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black (my new favorite ink!) and colored it with my Copics. then I stamped the mouse again on a post it note and placed it over the colored image. Then I used my Paasche airbrush to spray alcohol ink (Piniata red + denatured alcohol) around the edges of the mat. By covering the image with a post it I can be sure no stray ink is sprayed on my image. The photo corners are a freebie from Thursday’s post. I cut them and the mat with my Cricut and scal software. If you don’t have SCAL yet there is a coupon for 10% off til the 28th (Sunday) so grab it quick: 4190114
Speaking of Die cutting Micki wanted me to share a photo of my “die cutting center” so here it is, enjoy:
Everything is in arms reach, there is plenty of room in front and behind the cricut without taking up much counter space. I store my mats on the box under the machine.
Here is the inside of the box, I installed a power strip inside for my overhead light, cricut and laptop. When I am done cutting for the day I turn one switch off, easy!
A place for everything!
Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
Wow, I never tire of egg related puns! Kinda odd seeing as I am a vegan and haven’t eaten an egg in over 15 years LOL! There is something about a pastel colored Easter egg that just makes me smile 🙂 I designed the Cute Easter Digital stamp set in hope that it will make you smile too, here as my latest batch of cards from this set:
Digital Stamps: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Colored Cardstock: Co'ordantions, doublemates, DCWV, White cardstock for stamping: GP Image Plus, Punch: SU! & Martha Stewart (bird)
I am still smitten with my new Copic markers. I was having a hard time getting a large area blended smoothly though and I wanted a blue background on this card, I do not have the copic airbrush system but I have an actual paasche VL airbrush that I haven’t used since my kids were born so I dragged it out put some denatured alcohol and a few drops of “stream” alcohol ink (ranger) in the fill cup and sprayed me a nice smooth background. The only problem is it is so smooth I might as well have printed it on blue paper LOL!
This is my favorite card of the batch. I am getting this Coopic blending thing!
I printed my basket 2 times on white cardstock, I colored one and trimmed it closely. The other one I trimmed in a 4.5″x6.5″ rectangle and airbrushed it with blue then colored the basket with grey and adhered the other colored basket on tip with foam dots:
I had lots of fun coloring all of the elements on this card. I needed a little somethin’ in the top corners and I designed a photo corner svg to go there, download is below as a freebie as well as the word art used on these projects! To make the grass I simply used scissors to snip fringe from two strips of green paper and taped them on under my basket.
I used 3 shades of blue markers to color the large egg quickly!
I also fringed the green paper on this card. The cloud is a nesting SVG file from Penny Duncan that I cut with my Cricut and SCAL software and ren through my big shot, there is a tutorial on embossing with the cricut and big shot here if you want more info. The mat on the card below is also embossed with one of penny’s files:
A quick and simple card!
Now for the freebies! Click here to download 2 simple photo corner SVG files. One has scored edges that you fold back over the edges of a photo. (it is the one I used in my project) and the other is a glue on photo corner.
Here is another EGG-stra for you: set of word art stamps to go with my Cute Easter set. Click on the picture to download 🙂
I had time (while waiting for paint to dry) to make a quick card using layout #59 from Oriental Stamp Art. Since I am being a good little stamper I made an envelope to match (template below) and since good things come in 3’s I made an altered paperclip too:
Stamps: About Art Accents, PP: American Crafts, Tool: Cricut/SCAL softwareStamps: About Art Accents
The stamps are from About Art Accents. I stamped and embossed the coin rectangle (size d) then cut it into 3 squares and matted them on cream cardstock. I used a black ultra fine bic mark it to go over the “thank you” so it would stand out, The cute mat was cut and embossed using Penny Duncan free svg file from her blog (thanks Penny!) If you like the square petal envelope I made you can download the template here for free:
Easter’s on it’s way! OK, we have a month but these springtime holidays sneak up on me that’s why I was sure to release my new Cute Easter digital stamp set in time for folks to use it! This week I challenged my design team to make cards using buttons and bows. Here are a few cards I whipped up from the kit:
Here is a look at the cards up close, I have been practicing coloring with markers, can you tell?
This was fun and quick to color! I colored the basket light tan than added darker brown shadows. The eggs were colored with the lightest color first then outlined with the darker shade then blended with the firs color. On the bow I colored it dark pink then added purple shadows and blended with the pink and to make the bow look like satin I added highlights with the colorless blender. I punched the edge of the card for a bit of flair, I used button die cuts from Ellison but regretted it after I glued them on 🙂 If you like the word art around the bonnet it will be available on Thursday as a freebie so be sure to check back!Isn't the embossed mat on this card pretty, I cut it with my cricut using a template from Penny Duncan Creations then embossed it in my Big Shot.
Penny Duncan created the lovely mat I used on the above card, you can get it on her blog, you get many of the shapes layered in SVG format (she has formats for other cutter too) I cut the layered file with my Cricut and SCAL software (save 10% on scal til the 28th with coupon: 4190114) from thin chipboard then I laid one of the pieces over my digistamped image and traced around the OUTSIDE. I trimmed it then place the chipboard frame on my image and cranked it through my big shot like this:
The red thing is a sheet of rubber gasket you can get at the hardware store (plumbing isle) and I place the between to cutting pads (actually it is my homemade letterpress set up 🙂 I added 2 pieces of cardstock to shim it but try it without first.
I like how it has a look similar to a Nestability die. See how it looks up close without any ink enhancement:
Stamp: Lindsay's stamp stuff, SVG Die Cut Template: Penny Duncan
***If you had trouble downloading the charts yesterday, try again, I uploaded them directly to this page*** Note the Copic chart is at the bottom of this web page****
Howdy folks! The other day I went over to the Copic marker website and downloaded their hand color chart. At first I thought it was silly to print a blank chart and color it in my self (why not just keep the full color chart from their catalog) but then I realized if I colored my own then it would only have the colors I owned and the colors would be EXACT unlike the colors in the printed color chart and the color on the marker ends. I love it so much I decided to make a color chart for my Prismacolor markers and my Bic-Mark-its:
look at all the pretty colors! You can down load the Copic one from copic.com and the other two charts below!
I tried to find charts like these online but I couldn’t but I stumbled upon this interesting blog that had converted some of the Bic mark it colors to Copic. I started with that info and my stash of markers to convert the Bic Mark its to Copic and Prismacolor markers. Some of the colors I agree with and some I found a better (IMHO) match by working with the actual markers side by side.
Just color over the color names with the broad end of your marker. Both of these charts are .pdf documents, just click on the link and print then color. You can print and color these charts and have them with you when you go shopping to help you make good marker choices (better than lugging around your markers!) and you will see the true colors of your markers instead or misleading cap colors! BTW these three brands of markers play nice together!
I spent many hours on this project so if you like it please send crafty friends here to download the charts. I think this is useful and worthwhile to do, by making the color charts with your own markers you will know exactly what you have for colors when working on projects and you can bring them to the store with you so you do not make duplicate purchases, and it is good nerdy fun!
Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
Is it spring yet? Well, we have a month or two to go but there is no reason you can’t start crafting some springtime goodies! I created a new digital stamp set for the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop this week that is great for springtime, it is called Birds and Branches and it has 8 digital stamps that can be layered to build a variety of scenes or use them as is. Here are a few cards I made with the set:
Digital stamps: Lindsay's stamp stuff, PP: Cosmo Cricket
This is the last card I made of the set but it is my favorite, this came about because I mis folded my cardstock so I had to salvage bits here and there:
Digital stamps and houndstooth paper: Lindsay's stamp stuff, Green PP: cosmo Cricut, Sentiment: SU!
I decided that I would make a point of making coordinating envelopes to go with my cards while I had my supplies handy, it is so nice to have a coordinating envelope!
Take a few minutes to make a matching envelope!Print, color and stick it on a card, so easy!
Bonus Project: Karin Martin {with a new digi challenge blog!}
Thanks for stopping by, til next time happy crafting! Oh and don’t forget all of my holiday and winter sets are 50% off until Sunday midnight in both my Shophandmade shop where you get a free stamp for every $5 you spend and my shop at MyGrafico where you get your stamps instantly 🙂
Well at least I tried too but as always I got distracted by all of the little pretties scattered about and made a scrapbook page instead. Before I get distracted again 🙂 Let me remind you that SELECT digital stamp sets are 50% off in both the Lindsay’s stamp Stuff shophandmade shop and my shop at MyGrafico.
OK, now here is the layout:
Look at what I had lying around on my craft table! I'd rather scrap that put stuff away any day!
I used leftovers just lying around on my scrap table, the flower digi stamps are from the Fancy Flower digital stamp set, the panda is a dollar stamp from inkadinkado, the conversation hearts are from About art Accents and the post-it notes are form the dollar aisle at JoAnns. All of these stamps had been stamped and colored and they were just lying about on my table at the time, at least there are a few things I don’t have to put away LOL!
Thanks for stopping by and till next time happy crafting!
This week I asked my junior DT to make projects with the theme “Signs of Spring”. I played with my Fancy Flowers digital stamp set and my brand new Copic markers that my mom gave me for Valentines Day (yes, I am spoiled rotten!) and made these…oh while you are thinking of spring don’t forget that holiday and winter products are 50% off in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop!
Stamps: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Markers: Copic
I printed my digital stamps on cheap Royal Bright satin photo paper I bought years ago at Sam’s club, this paper was awful for photos but I love the way it worked with my markers, it has a smooth pearly finish (I’m so glad I didn’t toss it!) the card bases were made from the pretty colored file folders I bought at Sam’s Club last week, in fact all of the paper besides the yellow and the white photo paper is the smead file folders, frugal!
Stamps: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Markers Copic
This card with the daffodils is my favorite, I’ll probably look at it next week after I get more experience with the markers and say “yuck” but for now I am pleased 🙂
Stamps: Lindsay's stamp stuff, Markers: Copic, Die cuts: Cricut (storybook)
I just realized that the paper I printed the 3 flowers on for the above card is GP Image Plus Cardstock (Sam’s club $7 for 250 sheets) and I love how the colors blended, of course next week that might be a different story 🙂
I was having a lot of fun coloring, I wish I could get the background to blend, experience!
This next card I sent to Mom as a thank you for the markers, she bought herself a set too and is counting on me to teacher her how to use them, I better practice!
Stamps: Lindsay's stamp stuff, MArkers Copic, Punch: Stampin Up
And here is a new set in the shop just in time for spring called Birds & Branches:
Now how about a freebie? These printable bingo cards will have your projects ready for spring!
