No Experience Necessary…

Hi friends! I saw some really great white ceramic mugs at the dollar store the other day and I thought they would be fun to paint for Christmas gifts and fill with goodies. After I got them home I looked for a serving tray to go with them but I did not have one so I made one out of hardboard and wood scraps. I think it turned out pretty nice!

Count down to Christmas Slate!

Hi friends! I had a bag of old roofing slate in my basement and decided to make something with it!

kynsablog

It is a countdown to Christmas calendar and you can change the days because I used chalk markers by Kynsa to write the date! I also used the labels that came in the kit to make place cards for Christmas dinner. Chalk makers are nice because all you have to do it wipe the writing with a damp cloth to remove it! Perfect for labeling and crafts! Save 10% on the set of 10 markers and 40 labels with this coupon code: KynsaNow

I used acrylic paints to paint the design on the edge of the slate because I wanted that to be permanent. Watch the video to see how!

supplies:
Slate shingle
Acrylic paints & brushes
cardstock
Twine
Jingle bells, berries and ribbon
Liquid Chalk Markers & Labels

Thanks to Kynsa for sponsoring this video! Have a great weekend and til next time happy crafting!

Stamp School: Blended Sunset Window Card!

Hi friends! I am so glad you took a break from the cooking and cleaning and preparing that goes along with Thanksgiving Day in the USA to spend some time with me.  I am also thankful for everyone who spends time with me here not matter where you are from:) I had a lovely afternoon crafty shopping with my sister today and now I am relaxing by the fire and looking forward to tomorrows dinner at my parents house with family. Speaking of relaxing, I was so happy yesterday when I had a chance to have fun and create this card:

SAM_4224

It was relaxing to make it up on the fly and let the colors go where they may. If you are looking for an artsy way to use your Gelatos or Water-soluble oil pastels give this a try!

Supplies:

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving and til next time happy crafting!

Ring a Ding Ding!

Hi friends! I wanted to share the acrylic ring tutorial some of you requested on my Crafting on Clear 101 video last month. Better late than never right?

ringsclear

You will need Acrylic tiles, alcohol ink and a heat tool for this tutorial. I did not smell any fumes when I heated my tiles but to be safe I kept a window open while I worked.

Video!

I think a bowl of these rings would be pretty on a craft fair table and they could be made quickly for a low price so kids could afford them, just make sure you make some small enough to fit children if you do! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Funny Pencils!

Hi friends! A couple of viewers asked me to review the Tri-Tone pencils from Koh-I-Noor and I finally saw some at my local ACmoore and with a 55% off coupon and a rewards check in my pocket I decided to give them a try.

tritonereview

Unfortunately they only had the 12 set, I think the 24 set would be much more versatile. See what I think of them in today’s video!

Sorry I didn’t post this sooner, I posted the video weeks ago and forgot about it with all of the holiday fun I have been working on! So, what did you think of the pencils? Let me know in the comments! Happy crafting!

How About a Haul? Dollar Tree that is!

Hi friends! I wanted to pop in really quick tonight and share the fun Christmas craft supplies I snagged at Dollar Tree this week. I am not sponsored by Dollar Tree, I just like sharing a deal and the seasonal stuff sells so fast I did not want you to miss out if you wanted anything. Still kicking myself that I didn’t pick up an extra brain mold at Halloween LOL! Oh, and I forgot to show it in the video but I got a great wire wreath form too with 4 rows of wire on it in the floral department. C’est la Vie!

Video!

Sorry I didn’t have  a blog post for you yesterday, I needed a break:) We went to the Shriners Festival of Trees in Bangor, WOW 80 Christmas trees all decked out with awesome presents under them, you can buy tickets and drop them in the buckets by the trees you like and they draw a winner for each tree, I hope we win one (then I just might leave my decorations in the attic and plunk that beauty down in my Living room LOL!) It is a great fundraiser and I was glad to see it packed because the Shriners help so many sick kids who never see a bill for their treatments at Shriners Hospitals. And last night I got together with a dozen moms and we went out to dinner and to see the last Hunger Games movie, Mockingjay Part 2, we have done this every year (watching a different YA book inspired movie) since our kids started school, it is a lot of fun and laughter! I am so glad to be part of a great community in real life as well as online:) I hope you have a good week and I hope you have some time to pause, relax and enjoy. Til next time happy crafting!
