Hi friends! I love me some kraft paper. That natural brown paper is so trendy right now and a huge roll of it won’t set you back too much if you get it from our sponsor Papermart. Today I will show you how to make pretty envelopes using this humble staple. If brown is not your thing it is available in white as well. Something for everyone! Watch the video to see how to make the pretty, spring inspired envelopes!
For this project you will need:
- Kraft paper *also available in white!
- Stamps and ink
- Colored pencils
- Adhesive
- Envelope template (or an old envelope to trace)
- Scissors
Directions: Cut off a piece of kraft paper large enough to make your envelope. Use an envelope template, or simply trace any envelope you have, to make an envelope. Fold and adhere the bottom flaps as shown. Flip over the envelope and stamp on flowers or whatever you like and color using colored pencils. Since colored pencils are opaque they will show up beautifully on the brown kraft paper. Tip! Use a mouse pad when you stamp for a perfect image!
Use these special envelopes for wedding invitations, thank you notes or birthday cards! They are so pretty and easy to make! Happy crafting!
Most if my cards are made with Kraft paper…..I really like the look. Which paper do you buy for envelopes…..30, 40 or 60#?? I learned that paper can’t be too thick to make an envelope….but shouldn’t be too thin, either. Envie Art makes our cards just a little more special.

I find the 60# to be versatile, it is not too thick, I wrap presents with it too. It is a soft paper so it does not feel as tick as #60 cover stock, it feels more like pattern paper weight.

Love these. They are very cute and easy. I left on a message the other day that I don’t see where to click on the thumbs up. Do you have to watch on YouTube to do that?

Is there a free shipping option for Papermart? I think I heard you mention that once, but I can’t remember which video it was. I’ve Googled it, but I don’t want to set up an account with some coupon clipping website just to shop at Papermart. I’d shop there, but the shipping is as much as the order itself.

I do not think they ever offer free shipping but if you live close they have “will call” and you can pick it up:)

That is so adorable, the colors look amazing! I have recollections cardstock can I use this to make envelopes or is it too thick?

as long as your glue is strong enough it should be fine. Just remember if it is thicker and heavier it may make your card require extra postage.

Thank you so much Lindsay. I got the same envelope template because I saw you use it before in a different video.
