As always great questions and even better yet great answers. I too have a question for you this time. I have a lot of leftover powder dye from coloring ribbons and tie dying. I am wondering in the crafting world of paper can these be used in that medium? i.e. spritzes, water color, stamping or just using as paint mixed with another medium? Thank you before hand for any suggestions. Also, Kathy you looked so pretty today.

Where do you get your watercolor tubes of paint and what is a good brand to buy. I am definitely not a watercolor artist, basically just starting out and don’t have a lot of money to spend. But I love the way you can just squeeze out an amount on your palet and keep refilling it. Thanks.

Great. I’m so glad you were able to find the book. I wasn’t sure it was still in print. The wee folk are wonderful fun to make and I found the instructions to be very thorough with many options some easier for younger fingers. Enjoy!

I’ve used Salley Mavor’s book,too, making many wee folk. Love them! She’s publishing a new edition in 2015.

Good info! A couple of things – have you ever played with Iridescent Medium to create shimmer paint from basic acrylics? I find it works well if you mix it into the paints, but you can also brush it all over something for a uniform shimmer. BUT: What do you do to create chalk paints? I’ve played with talcum powder and that seems to work but wonder if plaster of paris would be better? What’s your take on it? I’m looking for something like the Fresco chalk paints. Hum… what else… Oh, can you use the Bind it all coils in your office supply binder holes? Will they fit? They look like they might. I figure I can always use the BIA to squeeze the coils even if I don’t use the tedious punching part of it 🙂

I would add joint compound if you want a thick fresco paint because that will only dry when exposed to air, plaster or paris will cure once it is wet, like when you mix it with water or paint and it cures fast. I don’t think the BIA coils fit the holed punched with my binder, I am pretty sure I checked them against my friends.

For the question about Stamp of the Month ideas, maybe try this…Raisin Boat is a company where you can rent stamps for 1 month, with the option to purchase if you want. If you already have inks, paper, etc, this is a fun option to play with new stamps without spending a lot of money. Their web site has fabulous ideas. Check it out!

ooops, distracted from the trip to the garage LOL! Yes you can use mod-podge, it is cheaper or you can buy Diamond Glaze in a large bulk size bottle, it is made by Judikins and is fabulous and cheaper in bulk.

Hello, I will out your way are there any rubber stamps stores in the area? I have been to Mainely Stamps and Stamped Designs. Wished I lived next door and you could teach me to do some watercolor yours is just beautiful!

in Bangor there is a Hobby Lobby, ACmoore and Joann but so independent stamp stores anymore. If you are in china Maine you can go to Bry-Anns arts and crafts in the basement of Lakeview Lumber, it has rubber stamps and all kids of craft supplies, it is my sister’s store, it is about 20 minutes form Waterville.

Do you know what I can use to remove liquid water color from my carpet? When my order arrived two of the caps were loose – the magenta and the red. The red streak is really quite lovely, but I don’t think there’s enough product to cover the entire floor. Do you have a remedy?
