Farmer’s Markets & Upcoming Projects:)

Hello friend! Anyone else having a busy summer? I have already seen my friends counting down the days til school begins on Facebook so I am thinking yes. 🙂 I’ve been having a fantastic summer, the weather has been really nice after a long cold winter and spring so I want to be outside all the time! I had a chance to participate in an outdoor farmer’s market last weekend. Want to know how I did? Watch the video:

So…if no farmers attend a farmer’s Market is it still a farmer’s market? It kinda reminds me of the scrapbooking crop I went to a few months ago and nobody else showed up LOL! Speaking of scrapbooking I will be doing a week of scrapbook tutorials next month (August 4th-9th…maybe the 3rd-10th depending on how many tutorials I make LOL!) so if there is anything you would like me to cover let me know as I am filming the tutorials over the next few days. I am finding that keeping it simple is hard, I have too many doo-dads that would be just the perfect touch LOL! I hope people find the scrapbook tutorials encouraging and helpful and not overwhelming. We will see. I mean I don’t want to bore someone with just the basics, I want to share techniques and ideas too. I am going to try to start the pages off simple and build up and if someone does not want to see the fru-fru they can bail out on the video when they think it is done. What do you think? Leave your scrapbook wishes in the comments below and I will take them into consideration when I film the tutorials. Speaking of videos, did you know I put a new video tutorial up almost every day? If you want to see what you are missing check out my YouTube channel (and subscribe so you don’t miss any tutorials!) Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

  1. I want to see everything!! Every just right touch you think of, I want to see it. I could watch you for an hour every night. I do in fact, I never watch only one video of yours and I never watch a video only once!! You are my nightly entertainment. Keep up the great work. You are my hero!!

  2. Even when the video subject is not an interest of mine, it is always enjoyable to be a part of your art/craft life. Thanks!

  3. I would like to see some ideas on what to do with some of the “ugly” scrapbook paper — the paper with the ugly color combos or the wild busy patterns. What can we do to tone down or change the colors and patterns so its something we would want to use in our scrapbooks — maybe whitewash it with some gesso or distress stains or something?

    1. Also how do you use those pages with the beautiful corner featuring a bird or Marie Antoinette which are too big for cards?

      1. those are the ones you hoard LOL! Or just put one photo on, in the area where there is nothing too pretty to cover…or use them in home decor projects!

  4. I think it’s great to cover everything. I am scrapbooking at last thanks to your videos. Started an album long overdue and am into it. The thing that is the hardest is deciding how to decorate the pages. I’m using the protectors that look like the proyect life ones but also use the album ones (12×12). I am leaving the deco for later on most pages so I look forward to your tutorials. Thanks!

  5. Can you please touch on the Project Life ( or that style) of scrapbooking.
I too think you are fantastic. I am from Australia and only found you from Custom Crops when they we still going. I agree, I often watch your videos even if they are not crafts I do. I have been going back and watching the Ask a Crafters series and I do watch them all to the end.
Thank you for doing all of this for us.

  6. Glad you enjoyed your Farmer’s Market experience, and TFS! I don’t do much Scrapbooking, mostly because I never know what to say/journal to tell the story of the pictures….are there ways to do this easily, or are titles enough?

  7. I’ve been thinking about the Asian invasion card you made a few days ago. I love the way you don’t hesitate and over think your work. I’m going to challenge myself to be more bold and not hesitate. I can’t wait to see what happens.

  8. I too would be interested to see what you can come up with to use all that scrapbook paper you just had to have and now it sits there. I am a rubber stamper and bought a lot of it when it was on sale and now I don’t think I will ever use it all.

    1. one of the people on another blog ends up her comments with may we live long enough to use up all our supplies. Margo on Oriental Stamp Art suggested you make envelopes out of the paper you are not going to use in a particular stack. I could wallpaper the house with the amount of paper I have and still buy more.

  9. Hi Lindsay,
You look beautiful in that hat, or should I say with or without the hat you are beautiful. Thanks for the hints about the farmer’s market. Up here in Winnipeg we will start to have lots of fall fairs and church sales, so I will keep your hints at hand. Thanks again,

  11. I also want to see everything. I can do simple pretty much but then I get stuck and I rarely journal, my pages are waiting for journaling! Also, do you suggest putting names, dates on the back of photos even if you are scrapbooking them, just in case they get detached. I was just thinking about that last week. I DO know you post a video daily and I look forward to watching. I am learning so much from you. Thank you!

  12. Hi Mrs. Frugal Crafter, I really enjoy your videos and made a comment about scrapbooking. This is probably more for ask a crafter: Have you ever made a decorative strip using the tape material that athletes use to wrap joints? I bought some on sale and I tried rolling the Stampin Up seaside roller with the cartridge that comes with the roller. I did not get a good impression but enough to color. Any other ideas?

  14. I am looking forward to the videos! It’s heresy, but I find I do not like so much embellishment on the pages. It’s not about the paper, it’s about the pictures (etc.). But the embellishments in themselves are little works of art that I like to use for other things. Years ago, there was Carol Duval, who taught so much about using everyday things (much like you, Lindsay!). Things like making your own cold porcelain with glue and cornstarch! These are the kinds of projects that make a lasting impression. Thank you for filling this niche! BTW, I need to learn more about how to use digital stamps effectively.
