Howdy folks! It is time once again to have a peek at my craft desk. I have supplies to make a fresh batch of summery earrings and I am going to try covering some blank buttons and using them for post style earrings. I’ll let you know how that turns out! Why am I sharing my desk? It’s also time for my weekly video blog! I asked you to submit any craft related questions you might have for me last week and I had quite a few on my YouTube video. Today I answer them for you. Question ranges from making rhinestone blingy beads, to craft fair display, resources for cheap craft supplies, photography and more. Have a look:

  1. I love your videos…..I, myself, am a self proclaimed frugal crafter too. I don’t normally comment but I was noticing that you are not looking directly into the camera. I found I did this a lot too when making a video. You must be looking at the screen instead of the lens. Just an observation. Keep on crafting!!!

  2. Lindsay, yet again another very informative video. I have to thank you for the one you did in which you covered how to create embossing blanks/diffusers using cardstock.   5. I love your tips vlog! So I have a question–what do you think are the top-selling crafts at craft fairs? Because we certainly don’t want to spend a lot of time making things that don’t sell (which has happened to me before) but on the other hand, if you really love making something, you should. It is tough. Also, do you think it’s more profitable to sell your crafts at a craft fair, or open an Etsy store? Thanks! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #42

  6. Hi Lindsay,

    Thanks for another informative and fun video. My request for you is about card making. Can you recommend sizes and ideas for making a bunch of background pieces for cards so I can keep a stash and make a card quickly? I typically use a base cut in half from an 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock sheet.

    Also, can you suggest a source for celophane bags for cards that are reasonably priced?

  8. Great video with lots of resources. Thanks for sharing this Lindsay! My question would be, how do you price for your fairs? I know the standard rule, but people don’t seem to want to pay for quality work. Most are looking for cheap. It’s very frustrating. Tips?

    1. I am going to share my pricing stratagy next week, it is the combination of product, supplies, expertise and time. I have had another lady ask me this on youtube today. My goal is that everyone knows how to get a fair price for their work next week!

  10. I think your video’s are great. I don’t think you are looking at the screen, it looks like you are looking right at the camera.

    My question is cards. I made a few for my grand daughters and had to pay 66 cents to mail. They weighed over an ounce. I see people putting ribbon, gems, etc on their cards and wondered how you make cards that don’t cost an arm and a leg to mail.

  15. Hi Lindsay…My question is…Can glossy photo paper be used as a substitute for glossy cardstock?? Thank you.

  18. Thank you for your fab video clips. I have a question, How do you photograph cards so the dont look wonky.I have tried photographing flat and also against an easel and they usually look like I have stuck all the layers wonky!

  20. Love this new ask a question spot.
    I have quite a good range of stampin up ink pads it says to water colour with them u need a blender pen. Do you know what is in said pen? They seem pretty expensive to buy and I wanted to refill it..
