Hi friends! When I hear the term “couch art” it is usually referring to pretty paintings that you would hang above the couch but today I am going to share a sketch created from the couch.
Sometimes you just need to let go of perfection, take away the pressure to produce and just draw with no expectation. I think that is why adult coloring books are so popular nowadays. We just need some quiet time to create. Coloring, drawing and painting can be very meditative and soothing, in fact you might be hard pressed to worry about anything when you are being creative. 🙂 So, if you are feeling restless, anxious, tired or down have a rest on the sofa, make a nice hot cup of tea, grab your supplies and create some beautiful couch art. Take care of yourself and happy crafting!
I love that you are so down to earth………God Bless.

it is a stick of watercolor paint:) you can draw and color with it or pick it up with a wet brush to paint with:)

This is wonderful, as all your works are. I have a friend that sells her art for big bucks. You should, too. TerreRichie FineArts Marsha

Beautiful! I have chair art, too. I have a small set of draws in the living room, next to my chair, with various supplies. So, when I have to sit with my heating pad, I can still be creating, usually in a journal. I have been obsessed with doing faces lately, so I wanna copy yours, if ya don’t mind. I love how you did the eyes, and everything else. Maybe you should make a book out of your “couch art”! I would buy it, to copy, or get inspired while I am sitting in my chair. I’m sure you just have lots of xtra time to do that, right? Thanks for sharing! Love it!

You have a good idea. I haven’t tried watercolor yet. I just don’t have enough of confidence to try it. Maybe one of these days I will.

I think she is so gorgeous!
I am trying to get back into drawing again. I have not drawn since high school so it is way out of proportion but that was fine with me . It made my horse look all the cuter I think 😊
But I am doing it for different reasons. I am being checked for a rare Neuroendocrine Carcinoid Cancer. I am getting my left leg and my liver checked. On top of battling with a torn meniscus Ouchy!
I just want to bring beauty from my ashes and leave a positive memory.

I think you would enjoy my friend Rachel Wojo’s Bible studies since they include Bible Journaling 😊
Anyway, have a blessed week ahead.

I’m sorta doing that myself. I was instructed to get my easel out and just do a abstract painting nothing specific. It has been so freeing and relaxing. Great idea!

I’ve been drawing in a small sketch book that I keep beside my sofa in the living room. I tried adding coloured pencils and things to use but it quickly became a cluttered pile and I stopped using it. As soon as I went back to the little book, a pencil and the eraser, I started to create again. It is relaxing to keep the tools simple and let the imagination do the rest.

so true, I think we can be more creative when we limit supplies as well and it becomes more care free (less o a big production) that way:)
