Paint with me! Cherry Blossoms!

Hi friends! I have lost track of my weekend! No blog post yesterday so I intended to get this post up this morning so you would have time to paint with me before the weekend was over but alas time got away. Girl Scout cookies came in and we had to get them sorted and accounted for before we delivered. I had a box of caramel delights left over at the end and I just about came unglued before finding the bag it was missing from. The thought of opening every order I had bagged up to find the delinquent cookies would have put me over the edge. I am so glad it was missing fromย the first bag I checked. Phew, time to relax and blog. Better late then never right? Grab a waterproof black pen, watercolor and paper and let’s paint a springy picture!

I really like the way my lighting looked in this video, I was experimenting with an adjustment in my editing software (it was over 20 minutes and my camera starts a new file after 20 minutes so i had to edit those bits together anyway) and it seems to brighten the picture without washing out the colors so it is more true to life. What do you think? I also used a different setting on my camera. There is always something new to learn even after 900+ videos, there is always something new to keep it fun! I hope you enjoyed this watercolor play-date and til next time happy crafting!

  2. Hi Lindsay ๐Ÿ™‚
Thank you so much for showing me how to paint cherry blossoms and for reminding me spring is coming soon (not soon enough!!!). I find this winter has given me the blahs as well. Here in Toronto, Ont., Canada, this Feb. has been the coldest ever and water pipes have been bursting in our subdivision. Your cherry blossoms painting is cheery and bursting with colour and it is just what I needed!!
Thank you!!!! Keep smiling and remember, SPRING IS COMING!!
    Take care.

  3. Sandy – I feel so much like you do…..the weather is hard on a lot of people. I have several health problems, so it’s hard to get out…..the ice and snow make it just a little harder. I put my earphones on and was listening to you talk as you were painting…..I fell asleep….your voice is very soothing!!! And when I woke up and saw your painting done, it is beautiful!! I will go back and watch it again. I think I can do that now that I watched you. Thanks so much for everything you do!! I wish we lived closer…..I think we would be good friends!!
    Stay warm….Spring is coming!!

  4. Lindsay, this cherry blossom post was so delightful. It was as tho you had gotten into my head with your comments. The weather has been so frustrating. Going out for groceries is a big decision and I search the fridge for two things I can put together and call soup; it has to end sometime, and spring will be delicious!! Thank you for just being you.

  5. Very pretty!! I used to be like you my house had to be cleaned every Monday morning after my boys got off to school. My mother in law would say don’t worry it will be there when you get to it. I would say but there will be more. But as i got older I realize what she was talking about. And I didn’t work back then and now I do. Gee I wish I could get my husband to fire me. I try but he want. And the cold weather I am so looking forward to spring my favorite time of the year because everything is comming alive. I love your paintings could watch you all day. And be careful on the roof that is a dangerous place to be. I am afraid of heights. Have a good week and take care.

  6. This is the first painting I watched from you and enjoyed it very much. I think this has been the worst winter ever for so many people. Your lovely cherry blossoms really lifted my spirits. Can’t wait to try painting them. Thanks. Remember, ice helps your back ache!

  7. I have enjoyed watching you paint this. It does make Spring feel like it is not too far away. I don’t mind the length of the longer videos. If I don’t have time to watch it all I just split my watching time, or sometimes just start from the beginning and watch it all from beginning to end. I had asked a question, guess you might have missed it. You always say to give you thumbs up. WHERE ARE THE THUMBS? LOL I am signed up for your email subscription and get your videos, but don’t see thumbs. Do I have to sign in somewhere else. I hate to know you are missing my thumbs up. Please let me know how to get them.

  8. Oh I did enjoy it! You always make it look so easy. I’m very new to watercolor. I always liked my acrylic paints instead. But I have to admit I’m loving it, and learning more every day.

  10. You are Soooo talented. What a gift! I enjoy all of your videos. I get so inspired. I went to Hobby Lobby today and bought a 5.99 set of watercolors. I used my 40% coupon. I painted the Hibiscus and for a first attempt with cheap paints I am thrilled with the outcome. Yes, this is very relaxing. So sorry to hear about having to Rake your Roof!!! Yikes!!
We are getting snow again tonight here in southern Delaware. Go have a margarita and dream of an aqua ocean. Feel Better. Thanks for all you do. Sue
