Paint a Lovely Sunrise…or sunset?

Howdy folks, I hope your week has gotten off to a good start. Monday morning was a blur here, 2 kids going off to school early for band, I forgot to pack their snacks so I sent them in with the other child to avoid having to make a trip down to the school only to find out that one of the first kids left her backpack in the car. I am so glad we live so close to the school! I walked the dog, got dressed and sat down to chek my email and made the mistake of clicking on Pinterest and 20 minutes just disappeared! Then I remembered, oh yeah, I have a blog to update and actual things to do LOL! So I decided to brew another pot of coffee (apparently the 1st one didn’t do the trick) and kick this Monday into gear! Today I am going to show you how to paint a sun rise, or sunset, whatever you like. It only takes a few minutes and it might be just the thing you need to get productive today:

DCF 1.0

I have a lot of tips and tricks in the video so I think it will be really useful to beginners or first time watercolor painters, you can do this even if you have never picked up a brush and all you have are your children’s water paints. Give it a try!

I used the 5″x7″ watercolor cards that I have been using in all of these mini tutorials. They are a great no risk surface because they are inexpensive and decent quality. I bought mine at Blick Art Materials but you might find them in one of the big craft stores and you can use a coupon. I get the 100 pack for the best savings. That’s it for today. I need to wisk around and do a  post weekend tidy/cleaning catch up then I am going to have fun in my studio! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

  1. Sounds like my Monday. Kitten came in the house and I chased her around for 10 minutes trying to get her out no luck. Just hope my older inside cat doesn’t hurt her. He is a very jealous cat. Doesn’t like my grandsons, hides and hisses at them. Made me late for work. Good thing I work for husband & a friend. Love your water color paintings. Have a good day.

  4. Yes, I love it too! I’ve saved all your watercolour tutorials to my favorites so I can go back and watch them over and over.

I remember mornings like yours when I was raising my three daughters. Some mornings I was sure no one was going to get where they were suppose to be on time!

FYI – Canada geese fly south for the winter!…except for the ones who have forgotten how to migrate and they just brave it out!
