C’mon, why not? I will be teaching the 4th graders at my kids school how to draw a reindeer as well as make a reindeer craft next week so I thought I’d practice with a video tutorial for you. I used a slightly textured lightweight paper, a vine of charcoal and a kneaded eraser but please feel free to substitute with pencil or chalk or crayon. Let’s draw!
If you want more drawing tutorials just let me know, this was fun to film, I don’t know why I never made one before. Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
If I had all your talent I would never sleep either. But, seriously, do you ever have a quiet moment? Kidding aside – this is wonderful. You have me knitting, crocheting, water coloring, paper beading, cutting, glueing, and….. that’s all I can remember right now cuz it was just this week. Might as well add drawing to the mix!

Who could have said it better than the previous commenter! I get exhausted just watching you do all these things, and I LOVE every minute of it.

He is darling and yes I’d love more drawing tutorials. Watching you makes me believe I can do it. Donna Dewberry made me believe I could paint roses and I did learn…learned beyond doing one stroke too.
Also–wondering, who promoted you learning to make art/craft? A parent, grandparent, school? It is a shame imo that art is no longer promoted/taught in grade school and beyond.

I would love to see more drawing tutorials as well. You make it seem like anyone can do it. Lucky kids in your kids’ school! I used to draw a lot as a child but then moved on to other crafts so I haven’t drawn for awhile. Your tutorial makes me want to pick up a piece of charcoal again. Hubby was going to watch an old western on TV last week and he asked if I ever watched movies as a child. I told him with 5 brothers they always had western movies on but I was happy if my mom gave me a box of crayons and a colouring book. He laughed and said I haven’t changed a bit then because I still prefer to sit and colour (on cards) then watch television.

Yes, more drawing tutorials! I tried as a youngster but never achieved any success or satisfaction. Maybe I could try again! How do you store your drawings? These look like they would smudge easily. Would love to see this done with pencil, too. Lindsay, thank you for all your enthusiasm for your crafting and inspiring us to never give up on ART!

you can spray them with hairspray or sealer to keep them from smudging:) I’d store them in a portfolio.

Thanks…this was awesome watching the reindeer take shape. More drawing tutorials would be good, but my first love is paper crafting, so I hope we still see lots of that on your videos.

Oh, Lindsay; love you, love your videos. Don’t know how you do so much, especially upside down. My vote goes to more watercolors, but that’s what I really want to do better. Also, I get a kick out of your pronunciation of any words with “out” in them, such as about, as I’m from Atlanta, Georgia, and I always think you’re in Canada rather than Maine. Long live regional accents!
