Let’s Paint Lavender Fields & Another Treasure Trove of Photos to Paint!

Hi Friends! First up I wanted to let you know that I am revamping my very neglected Cafe Press shop where I have some of my painting available as prints, note-cards, calendars, bags, shirts, mugs etc so if you wanted anything you might want to grab it now because I will be switching everything up next week! More on that later! I am so excited because a viewer told be about a really cool website called Paint My Photo where photographers upload their stunning photos for artists to paint. Here is a tutorial for a lavender field that I painted from a  photo by Robin Lovelock:

You can find the photo I used here. If you join the Paint My Photo community please say howdy and add me as a friend. I am new there too, we can explore it together!

I am using a 1/2″ Princeton Neptune Oval Wash. This is a synthetic squirrel brush. It holds a lot of paint and water. You can make broad washes but the tip comes to a fine point too. This was my first time using this brush and I wanted to play around with it. I hope it answers some questions you might have about this line of brushes.
Colors (Cotman)

Well, I need to get my butt moving, I am going scrapbooking with Lorraine and Kathy today! Woohoo! that should be fun…or we will get kicked out of the crop due to wacky shenanigans. Any bets? Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
