Hi Friends! I’m back from vacation! We had a wonderful time. It was the first time we ever took a week off as a family. We rented a cabin on a pond. It was tranquil and relaxing with lots of swimming, canoeing and just enjoying life! I made sure to bring some art supplies (you can see what I packed at the end of this post) so I could do some nature sketches because this vacation was all about downtime. I really needed to relax and I think my kids did too because we all had a great time and I did not hear “I’m bored” once! That say’s a lot because there was no internet or cell phone service there…I was surprised at how easily I could do without the internet…I just might become a recluse one of these days LOL! So, do you want to see what I painted? Have a look at the video:
Here are close ups of a few of my favorite vacation paintings:
And here is what I packed for creativity:
Thanks for keeping everything running while I was away. I was happy to see folks helping one another out with their crafty questions here, on facebook and on youtube. I really appreciate that! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
You are awesome!
Thanks for sharing

Lindsay, so happy you had a wonderful time, with your family! I haven’t been following you long (just found you and I live in North Carolina, so, I haven’t heard about your art) – I still feel like you’re a dear friend and I want you living next door. Thanks for sharing your beautiful paintings with everyone and have a great week!

All very nice, but really love the one done from the canoe. The scenery is perfect and so is the rock. Glad you all had a fun, restful vacation. What state was that in? Edna

Glad you enjoyed your well deserved unplugged vacation. But you with no internet would mean us without you! Uh oh! BTW, waterlilies…tutorial…hint…hint….Loved all your paintings. Such a great way to scrapbook your vacation. One day I will be able to do this in a way that people don’t say “Where was it you went again???”

Oh, man, Lindsay, if I had just half of your energy. I don’t think I could ever talk that fast or get so many books read in what I figure was a week! But then again, I don’t drink coffee (Pepsi for breakfast), so maybe that’s part of my problem. Not to mention the fact that I’m a late morning person. Really need a job as a vampire. Love your pictures though and glad ya’ll had a great time. I get so much info from your videos. Thanks so much.

Gorgeous use of color throughout each piece, and the rocks! My goodness those are so real and great work getting them to actually pop off the paper! I think I can speak for a number of devoted fans – You were missed, and it is nice to know you had a great time.
I miss the Lincoln National Forest and the mountains. I think we are either staying home or driving over to Vienna. That is nothing like your peaceful mountains: definitely remote, and you did managed to get away from the hoard of tourists. I am green with envy!!! Finding a remote site – is a tough task in the Alps – to merely get far enough up a mountain or down into a remote valley to enjoy solitude. Oh well. . . Welcome home!

Hi Lindsay, 🙂
So happy to see this video and hear that you and your family had a safe and wonderful vacation. I hope you and your family get time away together, more often, as time passes too quickly and you and your family need that “time out” to be together.
I am so amazed at the number of paintings that you did in one week. Your love of painting was truly shown in each of your paintings.
You are such a joy and such an amazing person to share your talents with us. THANK YOU!!
Take care.
