All you need is cardstock or watercolor paper, wax paper (AKA cooking paper, greaseproof paper, paraffin paper depending on where you are from) and ink or watercolor paint. Watch the video to see how:

I watched this yesterday on YouTube – love it. Too bad I have all my Halloween cards made this year but I’ll be making some Halloween scrapbooking pages and maybe I can add that spider web to a corner. I just have to try it!!

I love the wax paper trick. What else have you used wax paper to create? How about dryer sheets? I feel so guilty about throwing them away even have its third or fourth use. I love your videos.

Found you on Youtube around April this year and so many of your videos have helped me. I’ve started painting with Watercolors and make lots of cards. Thank you for your ideas. I also enjoy rubberstamping and saw your videos for the stamp show in MA. I’m going to the Stamp Show in my area next weekend. Hope I won’t buy more than I need.

I really love this technique! I can’t wait to try it. I have spent many an hour in the last few days watching your videos while laying low after oral surgery. THANK YOU so much for ALL that you share. It makes me so happy to see the variety of crafts you enjoy. Wow, what a super simple yet powerful technique. You come up with the best ideas. And the spider stamps are just completely adorable! It looked like the wax resisted the stamps, too… did you just re-stamp them to make them show up better, or did you end up going over them with a marker? I’m still trying to figure out when to use the dye vs pigment stampers (mind you, I only own six stamp pads at the moment, but hey, it’s a start).

I went over the spider body with a black colored pencil and highlighted the eyes with a white gel pen:)

So fun and quick to make! I’ve used waxed paper as a resist on gourds but for some reason never thought of doing it on paper. I like to crinkle it up and iron it onto the page. Makes cool texture for the background. 🙂
