A Quick Gift Idea!

First let me say our girl scout leader does not have a computer so I am safe posting this 🙂

This is a desk calendar for my girls Daisy Scout leader, I used a 6″x12″ oak frame as the base, cut pattern paper (K&Co have wonderful Girl and Boy scout licenced papers!) to fit the frame and used my cuttlebug flower petal dies and embossing folders (got the whole kit on sale at Big Lots for $2 last spring!) to make daisy petals, inked them and glued them down. You know you could also cut the petals with the Cricut and just place them in whatever EB folder you like. I glued a tear away calendar pad from skybluepink.com over the petals then I used my Cricut machine and Sure Cuts a Lot software to make the “Daisy Girl Scout” title and mat.  If you are looking for the perfect gift for a Cricut user get them SCAL2 for Christmas, it will let you cut all of your computer fonts with your Cricut machine, it’s easy too and it is still on sale for $59 {reg. $75} and that is less than the price of  one Cricut cartridge!

The font I used is called LD This and That from Lettering Delights, it cuts like a dream and I love the funky mix of letters in this one. I have a 40% off your entire purchase coupon Lettering delights too: GiveThanks and it is good through Thursday so don’t wait!

I will later (if my computer and the new software we have installed cooperates) print a photo of the daisy troop and add it to the frame but if you have no picture you can also add a pad of post it notes to the frame, that would be handy!

This project qualifies for the following challenges: Alphabet challenge , Lots To do (e=embossing),  Bunny Zoe (anything for Christmas-not a card-does a gift count?), CRAFT challenge (create a gift), Charisma cards (for the girls), Craft Your Days Away (texture), For Fun, Hodgepodge shop, Inktegrity ,totallystampalicious, (anything goes), funwithshapesandmore, Make it crafty (anything but a card),  Inspired Crafters (3-D project with die cuts), Papertake weekly, artfulinkables (die cuts)

Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
