Patina Look With Acrylics {Stamp School!}

Hi friends! Today’s technique is a teeny bit messy but the result you get is worth it. I’m going to show you how to use acrylic paint to get the look of old clay pots and metal. It’s quick, cheap and easy too…well quick not counting about 30 minutes of drying time. 😀

Supplies: (Use coupon above for 20% off all stamps!)

• Peg stamp sets: Autumn Elegance,  Itty Bitty Punkin Patch, Greetings From Kansas, Autumn Glory Chrysanthemums 
• Unmounted stamp sets: Cottage Containers, Just Add Flowers
• Memento inks
• Staz-on ink black
• Blending brush
• Acrylic paint (white, tan, grey, brown, green, blue)
• Cardstock and patterned paper
• Washi tape
• Liquid glue
• Double sided tape
• Scissors
• Palette knife
• Sea sponge

Directions:
1. Stamp containers on scraps of rust and silver cardstock. Stamp the images again on a 1/4 sheet of white cardstock.

2. Use a palette knife to scrape paint over the images on the colored scraps. Sponge on light green paint on the pots and let dry.

3. Stamp peg stamp designs in the containers on the white cardstock and die cut the images when done. *If you would like more detailed info on using peg stamps please check out this beginner video.

4. Use staz on ink to restamp the containers over the dry acrylic paint and trim out.

5. Ink the backgrounds of the die cut panels with blue and green in and a blender brush.

6. Trim pattern paper to fit card bases and assemble cards embellishing as desired.
