Thanks Guys! I Won Best Papercraft Tutorials! {and how I store my paints and brushes}

Hi Friends! Still sick here but better than yesterday. Luckily the basketball tourney games were rescheduled so I didn’t have to go anywhere or miss them. I barely have a voice today but I shot this paint and brush storage video the other day for you.

What do you think of the way I reorganized the brush area? I like being able to pull the little caddy around to hold my palette and water buckets. I took the drafting table that used to be there and brought it upstairs to my office to be able to work in the heat for the winter!

  2. Love you craft room and all your storage videos – Only thing I would do different is store one each of the openers in your different type of paint drawers (i.e. watercolor, oil and acrylics). I also voted for you so am super happy you won. Get better soon.

  9. You have such a happy energy, I bet the kids you taught just loved you. I apologize if this question’s been asked before, but I’m looking for some real help with learning to water color. Do you have classes you may offer or a ‘first video for the first-timer?” I did your raspberry one and I love it, but it sure doesn’t look like it should…)-: Mary

  12. So happy you won the award though I had no doubt that you would. You are so talented, and your giving spirit just makes you shine. I had a thought re your drawers that don’t remove. I think I have the same thing & if I squeeze inward on the sides, & pull, they do come out. It might work for yours too. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.

  13. Hey lindsay. Question for you. I have attempted to make watercolor ink from my Inktense Blocks. It works but once dry it is not permanent. Any way I can get them to be permanent and not chalky(rub off) so I can use paper in multi medium Journalling?

    1. I think that the inksense blocks are not as transparent or waterproof as the pencils. I too have found them to be chalky but they should be fine in yout art journal, they should not rub off esp if you activate them with water.

      1. Oops. Lindsay, I grated them and added water to dissolve and used them as a spray over stencils. Is there any way I can make them permanent so they don’t reactivate or rub off when I use them for mixed media journal pages?

  14. Congratulations! You were up against some great people, so well done!
    I do have a question that I would love answered, or if you could point me to the answer if you have already discussed the topic.
    Like you, I love all types of crafts and mediums and diy and so forth. Like you, I have my room arranged so that everything is as visible as it can be and yet still be organized. If I can’t see it, I don’t use it, but if it isn’t organized and orderly I don’t function at all.

    Can you please give some ideas of how you decide what to do on a given day? I mean, do you follow a schedule or order of the type of project you will be working on? I tend to get very confused over do I want to paint or sew or make cards or scrap or whatever else, and waste a lot of time in indecision that could be spent creating.

    so, I guess my question would be this; how do you organize your time?

    thanks so much!

    1. I haVE A CHEAP calendar/planner from the dollar store. I write project ideas on each day when I want to do them and write extra projects in the margin areas. I also paperclip lose notes with ideas on them in there. There are some things I need to get done on a certain day but most of my time is flexible so I match the project to the amount of time and energy I have that day. It is so easy for me to get overwhelmed and distracted too!

      1. Thank you! Yesterday I took the time to list a couple things to work on today and this morning just got up and went right to them, no thinking (a very good thing in the morning!) It worked and I got a lot done.

        Will spend some time this evening plotting out Feb. and see how that goes with a plan written down.

  15. Hi Lindsey – congratulations on your first place win. I am not at all surprised. I’m curious as to the square footage (floorspace) of your cellar work area. Going to search now to see if you have a video on the texture paste using the silicone (or what that tube was)
