Hi Friends! I am still shooting and uploading the organization videos, who would have thought there was so many ways to store your craft supplies? Today I am going to show you how I store my die cutting stuff. I will show you where I keep my cricut (I have it on another record cabinet so the mat can more freely around and not collide with other things on my die cutting bench), big shot, wafer thin and thick steel rule dies, embossing folders, sizzlits, letterpress plates, cutting pads and other accessories that pertain to using out die cutting machines. I will even show you my laminator that for some funny reason I like to keep here, I think it is because it takes electricity and it is handy here. Some things just work, don’t question it. If I used my comb binding machine more often it would be here too but I only have that out on rare occasion so it sits on a high shelf with other supplies I don’t need often. Great video Lindsay….a quick heads up – if your Big Shot goes…unscrew the bottom and take a look inside the machine to see if one of the three plastic wheels has broken teeth. If so, contact Sizzix and you can get a replacement wheel for $5. and free shipping! They actually sent me two wheels…easily installed and works like a new machine. Well made machines!!!!

This has nothing to do with storage for your dies…..BUT I would like to know the approximately size of your craft studio? I live in a VERY tiny space, but was thinking of maybe buying an old camping trailer to turn into a studio. (I used to have a very large space, but had to ‘downsize’… now I’m trying to figure a way to get a studio back!)

it is about 12×16 feet I think:) I think a camper would make a great studio AND you could travel with it!

Thank you, I love all ,your tips but the video on storing dies is great. I got several new ideas for storing dies. I have mine on magnets in the box for dies but find it is aggravating to lift the magnet pages. But, the embossing folders are always jumbled in a box, so I am going to use your ideas. I love your videos and thank you often for the tips I get from them, you just can’t hear me, but I do. I also love sharing your Utubes with friends who are just beginning crafting. The more friends we get crafting the more fun and sharing for us not so new!! Thanks so very much. I taught school (adults) and have always shared being frugal.

Thanks for the video. I do have my embossing folders in a basket, but chose to keep sets (Valentines, Baby etc.) together in the original packaging but with the tops cut off to have easy access. I have WAYYYYYYY more Sizzlits than you do. I bought a zippered notebook and baseball card protector pages to keep them in.Works well for the small ones, but haven’t figured out how best to keep the larger sizes.Thanks again for all your ideas.

Lindsay, Loving your videos. My husband was mimicking you today when you mentioned your Big Shot!!. I recently replaced my Vagabond (broke twice in a few months-BAD machine!) with the BigShot and have been talking about it’s wonderfulness ever since. Funny that he heard you say it! Anyway, I am trying to figure how to store my somewhat small stash of paper, without incorporating another huge space hogger of a cabinet or such. Need to probably clean out my file cabinet and repurpose that space. Thanks for your upbeat and crazy energy! I get rejuvenated after listening to you! Take Care

I am storing projects and specific papers like blue scraps, printed scraps etc in Pizza boxes which stack nicely on one shelf. Now I have painted them with acrylic white paint and will stencil the tops and make them look cooler. LOL

Ii am storing smaller dies in recipe albums with pockets so I can flip through and find what I want. Embossing folders are in bins with an index telling what they are like Xmas , flowers, etc. but then there are the ones you can’t sort of categorize lol. What I need to do is use some of the stuff I have.

I shared thet in my inkpad video but they are in ziplock bags sorted by type and all the bags are in a plastic bin.

Always love your tips. BTW, the “L” letterpress stuff: Quickutz somehow got split up. The electronic side became Silhouette America. The tangible side became Lifestyle Crafts (= the “L”). Lifestyle crafts was bought out by W R Memory Keepers. Since We R has a bunch a tools, but had no die cutting platform, they acquired Lifestyle (epseically for the Letterpress). You can still get letterpress stuff from them!
They recently came out with a (claimed to be) better machine than the Epic Six (which never reached Big Shot popularity). The new one is like and all-in-one: a big shot (larger bed with feet), cuttlebug (fold up bed) and optional vagabond (optional to convert the crank to a motor). Looks intriguing anyway.
Oh, and they previously came out with the Genius platforms – a turquoise platforms with grey mats instead of the original two grey platforms I saw on your shelf. The new ones work with all machines so if you see those on sale, you can snag them to use with your Big Shot!
