…and it’s probably because I wore this heavy necklace the last two days:
Usually when I make a chunky necklace I mix in some acrylic beads to cut down on the weight but I had these gorgeous foil glass beads that I wanted to use and I like the repetition of them all together so I threw caution to the wind. The flower focal drop I made from resin, it was an ugly speckled white because my white paint I colored the resin with did not mix well so I painted it green. I enjoy olive green because it seems to flatter so many skin tones.
I call it elegant steampunk…and heavy…really freaking heavy…
It’s still pretty though, but I think I will only wear it for short amounts of time and not all day again. That’s all for today! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
Very pretty!

I love the pieces, but there would be no way I could wear anything heavy. Even some lovely pieces given to me by my parents are uncomfortable to wear.

It is a beautiful necklace Lindsay…enjoy it on a display and then only wear it once in awhile for a short time. You will still get to admire it – both ways!

For a second, I wondered how much it would weigh if you were to put it on a scale?
Chunky indeed, but distinct and good-looking.

Your necklace looks great but it would be too heavy for me to wear too.

Oh those heavy glass beads…..I was given a ziplock baggie of glass beads from my great aunt’s broken necklace..how it was ever worn is beyond me. But there is nothing as striking as glass beads. Your necklace is wonderful!

I suggest you try adding some counter weights. On heavy pieces, I add beads to the clasp that go down your back to counter weight the necklace. Then you look good coming and going!

What the heck! Even if it is heavy, it’s beautiful and us women pay a price for beauty, right?
