Hi friends! I had a lot of requests to show the flat tree we made to go in the living room this year. Our old artificial tree was on its last legs last year so we were planning to get a new one but then I thought “Why not make a tree on the wall to save space?” We are hosting my husband’s side of the family on Christmas Eve and I like the idea of having more space and less tree. Here is how it came out:
And here is the video showing how we made it, warning, it;’s a rough ride at times LOL!
Is this a tutorial or a warning, I’m not sure.
Material list:
- Lumber: 2 2x8x8 boards ripped into 2x2x8 lengths ($3.50 each)
- Painters tape
- 1 box of 1″ long wire/brad nails with heads ($3)
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Tube of green acrylic paint $3
- 5 Lighted bough garlands(honestly, just buy 6 if you are making a 4’x6′ tree like mine) $10 each
- 2 18′ pine garlands $6 each
- 300 mini light string $12
- Lighted star $5 (Dolar Tree in the plus section)
- Project total $93 not including recommended extra garland, hot glue, and tape.
Well, that was fun. I hope you are having a very merry day and til next time happy crafting!
