Hi Friends! I have a fun giveaway to share today! My friend Tamara, the creator of the LifeBook year long workshops,  has just created a book that encompasses the spirit of her fabulous yearly LifeBook class! It is a beauty and she is letting me give a copy away to one lucky reader! I have been enjoying my copy for a few weeks and it is simply delightful and inspiring!

Let me tell you a bit more about Tam’s new book in case you
haven’t heard about it yet! “Celebrate and honour your creative potential with Create Your Life Book!” Based on much-loved mixed-media artist Tamara Laporte’s popular, multi-year series of online classes, Create Your Life Book offers mixed-media drawing and painting projects that can raise your awareness of and help you work through personal challenges and other obstacles to creating art and achieving self-fulfilment. Each themed chapter presents 4 or 5 two-part projects: The first part of each project explores a common issue that hampers creativity and/or positive self-worth, and includes a worksheet or list of questions to be answered; the second part is a step-by-step mixed-media art project that provides a way for artists at all skill levels to contemplate and work through that issue. Also included are projects contributed by some of Tamara’s Life Book guest teachers–Roxanne Coble, Andrea Gomoll, Alena Hennessy, Mystele Kirkeeng, Ivy Newport, and Effy Wild–who are noted mixed-media artists in their own right. Along the way, Tamara shares inspirational photos and uplifting and encouraging affirmations. The final chapter presents a simple binding method for creating a keepsake book of your Life Book projects.

The nice thing about having her class in a book format is that I can browse it at my art table without having the distraction of my computer around. Sometimes I just want to get away from the screen and get lost in a beautiful art instruction book. I also love how she mixes unusual supplies to create beautiful, whimsical and uplifting art.
You can now pre-order Tam’s awesome book here: Amazon USA UK, Canada, Australia, or from The Book Depository. It’s officially published in January 2018, although many sites are now showing the publishing date as earlier in December 2017! You can pre-order it NOW! 🙂

  11. This book looks AMAZING!! I actually started a mixed media journal… oh, about a year or so ago thanks to you, Lindsay! Unfortunately, I’ve only completed 5 pages and it’s kind of been put on my shelf and forgotten about, lol. I would love Tam’s book to help me fill up the pages of my abandoned journal and to fill up my soul with a little inspirational, self-healing artiness!! That would be a great way to end the year and to start a new one. Thanks for sharing, Lindsay!! =)

  15. I would LOVE to win a book!! I am curious about Life Book! Want to learn more about art! Art has helped me a lot, as my health is not the best and also this year has been the toughest year for me in many ways….

Speaking of art, when I decided that I wanted to learn to paint and I searched for videos on youtube, YOUR channel was the one I started to follow! That was back in 2014!! Time flies!! 🙂

  31. Sounds like the perfect book for me. I had recently re-started my drawing and have been trying to learn Watercolor then I sort of hit a wall. My artistic block was partially torn down when I began watching mixed media as I have not tried it before. I feel it looks like a lot of fun and a way to be creating and feel joyful even if what you make is just a happy little mess at times. I am my worse critic as is everyone- would be nice to have her book to help me along.
Thank you for the giveaway! I hope to win 😃(but we all do-lol)

As you know I have been on a creative journey with your tutorials since I retired last year and I’m already seeing how art has helped my PTSD. You, Tamara, and so many other artists who freely share your time and tatents on YouTube are a quiet force reaching around the world with kindness and goodwill. You are the power of social media.
