AAC & WOYWW!

Hello friends! I feel like I was very efficient today which was really weird because it was a snow day, we got the call at 5:30am that school was cancelled due to sleet and icy roads. I think you have to be efficient in December, there is so much to do! I decided I was going to snap a photo of my craft table every day and post it on instagram (I just joined last week, my username is lindsayweirich if you want to add or follow or whatever the heck you do there.) I thought, what a great time to get back in the habit of What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday, the weekly craft snoop set up by Julia from the stamping Ground, so this week you can see the beginnings of my Christmas card designing.

I make a bunch of cards (usually around 75) and I have some assorted ones done in small batches but this will be a batch of 25. I really need to “get my skates on” if I am going to get these done and mailed on time. There is still the matter of a cute holiday photo including my three kids, two cats and dog…I have a feeling that is going to be slipped in the envelope right before it goes in the mail, that is the kind of year I am having folks, it is just going too quick! I hope you have a moment to sit back with a cozy beverage and relax, you can even hang out with the crafty ninjas while you sip and enjoy this weeks Ask a Crafter!

I will share the finished Christmas cards soon because they will be a quick to mass produce design and I am pretty convinced that nobody on my Christmas card list reads this because when I ever mention what I do all day they reply “Oh, you have a blog?”  We all need quick and easy this time of year I think! Thanks so much for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

  1. I am so far behind right now because I caught what we are calling the never-ending virus a week ago and I’m only marginally better. No energy to do anything; to fuzzy headed to concentrate; can’t quilt either. nothing. nada. I make Christmas cards all year, thank goodness, so I have only a few to make. Love the colours of products on your table!

  2. Stressing about not stressing… ok just relaxing and still needing to get my Christmas cards done. The kids are in college so there is a little more leeway in when things need to be done. Love it!

  4. I am picturing the perfect picture of your family as a three tiered Christmas tree. Three kids on the bottom, two cats above them, topped off with the dog. Sure the cats and dog will cooperate without any problems! 😉

  5. I started in early October, as I am usually going nuts about mid December, trying to make family and friends cards. And I hadn’t made any to sell before. So had to make loads. This year, I’ve sold about 30 cards and made about £20. I only charge 40p – 60p per card. And all money goes to my fav charities.

  6. Pretty Christmas card colors! I went to Splitcoast Stampers to find the downloads/spreadsheets/lists you mentioned and couldn’t find them. Would you mind checking on that? I clicked on all kinds of stuff looking for those, with no luck. I really could use the help that seems to offer.

  7. Oooh Lindsay! So glad to see you back on WOYWW! (that’s how I found “Ask a Crafter” which I looovvvee). Such a fun idea to snap your desk every day and post on Instagram. I was thinking of doing something like that when I go on my long holiday staycation mid-month. I really can’t believe we are suddenly thrown into December…I’m still mourning summer. Your cards are looking cute. Have a fun snow day with the kids! Sandy Leigh #40

  8. Oh, you have a blog!! I heard this so many times! And then they look at it and email me, that they liked it. When I asked them why they didn´t comment on the post: Ääää – I don´t know.
You have been very busy with your cards, can´t wait to see them!

  10. Hey this is not too bad ! You still have some space to work. Sometimes I start to many things in the same time because they need to dry.
After a moment I don’t have any room left to do anything !! So then I have to put myself together and say “ok now it’s time to really finish a project and then do to another one”, but I don’t know why I have a hard time doing that.
Have a very nice day !

  13. Ah yeah -my nearest and dearest are the same – ‘what’s a blog?’ has become the biggest let down question for me!! Panic not..you and I are in the same time zone…but I don’t have to corral everyone for a photo…it’s just not happening! Despite the tinsel, baubles and stuff collected around your desk, it looks pretty much in control to me – christmas power to you LIndsay!!

  14. I look forward to your blog and videos everyday. You are so talented and knowledgable in arts and crafts. I think you and the girls should do a craft/art retreat in Maine! It would be so much fun.

  15. 75 cards!!! Woah…..that’s about 50 more than I get round to making! I have just sussed how to link my YouTube channel up on my WII so your video’s are now on my TV rather than a mini netbook that I normally use!!
    Keep up the great work
