Another Stamp Giveaway! Yay!!!

Howdy folks! We went to my 4 year old nephews birthday party Sunday and had a great time! He had a bounce house and it looked fun, the kids were having a ball in there when my sister says to me “go ahead and try it, the guy from the rental place said that it is safe for adults!” Well, I had to try it! Somewhere between the toe-touches and the somersaults (I was having a grand old time!) I pulled something in my back because an hour later when I reached down to pick something off the floor I felt it. I’m gonna feel this tomorrow I think, better keep the Advil handy:) Before this nonsense I made a card and earring set using a Victorian style stamp from About Art Accents and I am giving this stamp away, just leave a comment and I will draw a name in a week! Well, that’s easier than a cartwheel in a bounce house, aint it?

DCF 1.0

I had to make a thick envelope-box to hold the card and tag so I used my envelobox creator by crafter’s companion, boy it is slick! The earrings I made (I stamped the image at the end of a paper strip, colored it and rolled it up before adding two coats of UTEE for shine) are about 3/4″ thick and 2″ high, they are lightweight but bulky!

DCF 1.0

I originally thought I would put the full stamped image on the card with an earring on each side for embellishments but it did not work well so I opted for simple and made the big image into a bookmark.

DCF 1.0

To get the vintage enamel look I coated the design with utee and let it cool then I bent the paper to crack the embossing. I rubbed it with a brown inkpad and wiped off the excess so the cracks would show. Oh, and The coloring was done with Gelatos. If you want a better look at the stamp you could win by simply leaving a comment (hint, hint) you can see it here. Good luck and til next time happy crafting!

  1. You are so clever! Where do all these ideas come from? You need to write a frugal craft book! C’mon Lindsay do it!
In the meantime, hope I win the stamp!

  8. So sorry that you hurt your back, try to take it a little easier today and stay away from those bounce houses!!! I really like they way you used your card to present the ear rings. And I like the bookmark tag, it’s very pretty. I too would like to see a video on using Utee since I don’t know much about that product. Thanks for a chance to win this stamp.

Well, I hope it was fun while you were bouncing at least. . . Lol! Thanks for the chance to win this beautiful stamp set. Hope you are can the mend.

Hope your back doesn’t give you ongoing problems and that you are back to par soon. Of course I want you to be well for yourself, but I’m being a little selfish too because i need my daily Lindsey fix/inspiration. You have the heart of a teacher, motivator, and coach.

  17. Love the card. Bought the beader for the grand kids, but it was a bomb. Oh, well. They wanted the Rainbow bracelet maker. What are grandmom’s for, but to indulge. So they spent the afternoon making rubber band bracelets. It’s the rage, even among the boys. I still can’t believe I spent $4 for each bag of tiny rubber bands. LOL

    1. oh no, they didn’t like it? Well, maybe you can keep it LOL! I don’t have the rainbow loom but I saw the bags of elastics for them (lots of selection too!) at ACmoore for $2 each the other day, it is regular price I think too:)

  18. Pretty! You got me hooked, all I want to do is make paper beads. Got a lot of copies off the design page love them. Back hurt is not good I know how that feels. But I know it was fun to play on the bouncing thing we did that at my grandsons birthday party a couple of years ago. Hope your back gets better. Oh and which is best embossing or Mod Podge?

    Like

    1. it is up to you. If the beads are thick and sturdy the embossing powder gives it a more glass like surface and it dry immediately. If the beads are more squishable go for mod podge which is more flexable.

  19. What a beautiful stamp. Love the background. But more importantly I hope your back will be okay. Your earlier post about the boom whackers made me smile all weekend…I need to find some of those for my little sister’s kids. (lol…my kids are older now and there may be some “payback presents” happening here….). 🙂

  21. Sounds like something I would do, except now that my son is practically a teenager, I almost mortify him with my enthusiasm. I don’t let it stop me too much though. Just last month, I was the first parent to go down the hill ice blocking. Let’s just say it broke the ice and a lot more parents tried it after I did it. It was a blast. I love watching your videos too. Thanks for sharing.

  22. I love that stamp! I have a big stack of tags and I’m looking for a stamp that is long-ish in size & this one is perfect. I love the way you used the UTEE & the buttons are a fun little detail. The earrings are very cool, too!

I hope your back is improving. I learned long ago not to try the kid stuff. I used to be pretty good with a hoola hoop but nearly put myself in the hospital while trying it as an adult.:)

  27. I totally understand the shopping “problem” you had in your last video! I try fly down to the US (Texas) at least once a year to get my Hobby Lobby and JoAnn fix. .The new policy of airlines charging for baggage has kind of slowed me down. I say “kind of” because I only have to decide– more clothes, or more crafting. Well I have lots of clothes 🙂
I am a card maker, and I REALLY love that stamp. I am already thinking what I could do with it 🙂
