Rainbow Pants Flip Through!

Howdy folks! I was so excited to see that you can look inside The Rainbow Pants by Kelly Brooks-Bay  on Amazon now! I also did a quick little flip through video of the book:

I think it is finally hitting me, I painted pictures and they are in a book, how cool is that?!? Happy Crafting!

Toot toot!

Happy Sunday folks! I have great news, I just got my copy of Just Cards! Spring 2010 in the mail and I have 4 cards published and one is on the cover:

The really cool thing is that 3 of the cards feature digital stamps I designed from Lindsay’s stamp Stuff!!! The cupcake on the cover card is from the Sweet Stuff set, there is a card using the Cute Easter and Cute Halloween sets too! I am on cloud 9!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

I’m a Cover Girl!

I am so excited I had to share this news with you: I have a card on the cover of the February 2010 issue of Vamp Stamp News!

Woohooo my card made the cover!

It is the one on the top and I used digital stamps for the Love Grows here set. Then I used some heart rubber stamps in light blue ink (you will have to get the magazine to see the detail) to mark of the bingo card like the markers bingo players use and I stamped hearts in the scallops. For the rest of the instructions you will have to get a copy of the magazine, it ships today so it will be in stores in a week or two or you can order it from the VSN website.

Here is a look at the Love Grows Here Digital stamp set:

The Love Grows Here digital stamp set, only $5!

Thanks for stopping by, til next time happy crafting!

Published again!

Not that I want to toot my own horn (OK I’m Tootin’ here!) I just really love this card and I have waited months to be able to share it with you, see it was in the May issue of Vamp Stamp News as part of their stamp masking challenge and they want to keep their stamp art as fresh as possible for their readers so I waited til now to show you (cuz the June issue is now available and I think it’s OK 😉

Stamps: Crafty Secrets, Inkadinkado, Paper: DCWV, Die Cuts: Cricut Accent Essentails cart

I had a ball making this card and can you blame me the stamp is darling, it is by Crafty Secrets. First you stamp the girl/swing on a die cut shape then again on a scrap and cut the scrap out, place the scrap over the girl, ink up a brayer with a blue Kaliadacolor ink pad and roll right on over, then stamp a larger script stamp in black on that. Remove the mask and color with pencils. It’s really quite easy!

If you have never had the pleasure of reading VSN check them out, there is a list of stores that carry it here and it is only $4 an issue! If you subscribe it is less and it is packed with hard core stamping info. You can still order the May issue from the website if you want to learn more about masking, in the June issue it is all about die cutters (and yes, I have a card in there too but you will have to get the magazine to see it 😉 It is a good investment if you are considering a die cutter purchase in the future. BTW I have no affiliation with VSN except being lucky enough to be published in there from time to time, it’s just a good magazine I think you should check out.

Have a great weekend, I hope the sun comes out after a week of rain, if not we will just have to stay inside and craft 😉 Till next time Happy Crafting!

toot toot!

What can I say, I’m having a good month 🙂 I just got the June issue of Vamp Stamp News in the mail and I have a card in there! Woohoo! The magazine had a challenge to make embossed backgrounds with a die cut machine and well, I love my die cutters so I made a couple cards to send in. Here is one that did not make it into the magazine but I like it just the same so I thought I would share it here:

Stamp: About Art Accents, Cardstock: SU!, PP: Basic Grey

I used a Fiskars Texture plate in place of one of my cutting pads, placed my folded cardstock on top then a sheet of rubber gasket material (form the plumbing section of a hardware store) then the other cutting plate and ran it through my Big shot. Then I distressed the card with brown ink and white acrylic paint. The focal image is from about Art Accents and a colored it with chalk and a blender pen for a vintage look.  made the die cut shapes with my cricut and scal software. SCAL is on sale for 10% off until the 26th with the coupon code:3847758. SCAL lets you cut any font on your computer and svg files with your cricut machine!

Speaking of Cricut, and die cutter in general, the June issue of VSN had a great article on choosing a die cutter and it review most all of the consumer grade machines out there so if you are in the market for a die cutter check it out!

Have a great Memorial day weekend, we are building the kids a playhouse, so much fun, I hope the weather stays nice for us, it have been lovely all week (hence a couple of days I didn’t post, I was too busy enjoying the weather!) Until next time happy crafting!

Toot, toot!!!

I just got my copy of the June Scrap & Stamp Art Magazine in the mail and I have 2 projects published in it! No, this IS NOT an Aprils fool’s joke;-) This is my first time in this mag but they have accepted other work, I just don’t know when it is coming out.

I’m not feeling too crafty today, I volunteered in my son’s class this morning and wasted the rest of my “free” time on emails, facebook and yourfonts.com so I’ll share a little craft  made over the weekend using Denise’s fabulous Cinderella carriage file. I used Sure Cuts a Lot (SCAL) Software to make this in minutes, I assemble it with double stick tape, easy peasy!

Isn’t it cute? I used Strathmore 12″x18″art paper and cut the file out 2 times, once on red, once on yellow and pieced it together. My daughters have 2 friends having birthdays this week (both names starting wit “s” too) so this will be a nice gift topper. It is a box too so my girls put a little surprise inside. Well. that is all for now, I think I need to paint something, I’ll be back tomorrw and let you know how (of if LOL) it turned out! Happy crafting!

Big Thanks!

Wow, what a week! I found out that at least one of my cards will be featured in the February issue of Vamp Stamp News, not sure which one (or ones) and they put one of my cards on the VSN homepage! And I got several projects accepted into Just Cards! magazine. Special thanks go out to my friend Kathy who generously gave me permission submit a card I made with her onesie pattern, and also I want to thank Jen of Jen’s Brain Things blog for letting me use one of her cut files on another accepted project. You girls rock!

And I thought I would share a few thank you cards with you today:
