Zen and the Art of Lunchmaking

Happy Tuesday folks, today is errand day for me but I could not face shopping before getting a crafty fix to I popped into my craft room this morning for a quick fix:

Stamps: About Art Accents, paper: Basic Grey, clip art: Lettering delights

I used the sketch from Oriental Stamp Art for this quick card (Ha Ha no it was not quick, thank you very much;) It was a simple sketch but of course it took me the better part of an hour to make…so sad really:) I used stamps from the Japanese Florals Plate by About Art Accents on the card and envelope, you can’t go wrong with the pretty Asian images, the paper is from  Basic Grey (Kioshi line) and the friend graphic is from one of the Asian sets at Lettering Delights and everything over there is one sale for $1 right now!

I made all of the embellishments on this card: Homemade crinkle ribbon, Decorative pins (I used jewelery eye pins and beads-easy peasy), and hand died twill tape. Here is a close up of the pins:

This card qualifies for the following challenges: OSA (sketch), Basic Grey (paper piecing-I pieced the rectangles on to white card to make the faux postage)and  Craftilicious (purple and green), Paper Sundaes (at least two coloring mediums-I used watercolor crayons, ink and glimmer mist.)

And now for something completely different-My lunch:

Here are the lunch deets: Wholegrain & Flax pita wedges, homemade garlic hommus, carrot sticks and grapes. Yum!

I found this awesome blog called Another Lunch and it is full of ideas on making bento style lunches and since my 2 daughters decided they are going to be vegetarians (this week) we are all about the cold lunch. When I saw them use silicone cupcake wrappers for lunch dividers I about fell off my seat, what an awesome idea and I have them so yea! another use for them! Not to mention portion control and since I have about 5-10lbs I want to shed I might as well make my lunch this way too!

Thanks all for today, til next time happy crafting!
