Sat Chat 11/29/25

Hi friends, Happy After Thanksgiving weekend! I hope you are having a lovely weekend. We got the porch mostly decorated for Christmas today, put away all the fall decorations inside, and cleaned the house to get ready to decorate for Christmas. We will enjoy a bit of sparse, minimalist design for a few days, tho. I’ll catch you up on everything else in Sat Chat!

Stuff I mentioned:

That’s all for today, Happy crafting!

Black Friday Art & Craft Supply Deals

I have been posting deals I found over on the community tab on YouTube this week, but here are the storewide sales I have found today. There were some decent deals but nothing I that I thought was extraordinary (except for the bundles at Scrapbook.com), so if there was something you were planning to buy, have a look, if not you can safely skip it, I think:)

  • I have made a page for the best Black Friday Deals I have found on Amazon *I will update this list throughout the weekend when I see good deals.
  • Blick has their Black Friday sale up, and they have a $10 e gift card free with orders over $100 with code WKD2025. They have free tubes of white M Graham with the purchase of 3 tubes of gouache, acrylic or oil paint, and their sale prices are pretty good! They still have the Prismacolor set of 150 for $90 too!
  • If you are looking for deals on brand-name supplies like Schminke, check out Jackson’s Black Friday Sale
  • Scrapbook.com has a FANTASTIC Black Friday sale here AND you get an additional 15% off with code: BLACKFRIDAY DEALS OF NOTE: Spectrum noir tri blend markers with storage racks $89 (regular $265) And another bundle for $59 (regular $205) Sizzix Big Shot bundle for $99 (regular $230) AND you get an extra 15% off these sale prices! There are also lots of cute crafting storage items on sale, it’s worth a look!
  • Important info on Color Cubes! The Color Cubes are not going to be discounted, but they have sold out of volumes 1 and 4 singles in several countries, and stock is low on the bundles, so if you want to purchase one of the Color Cube sets for Christmas delivery, I would do it now, as restocks will arrive after Christmas. Sarah Renea Clark has the Swatch Dex and Coloring Planner on Sale, tho! Please let me know if you have seen any epic art/craft deals that I missed!

3 winter and christmas line and wash greeting cards

Speaking of holidays, I will be doing my artist gift guide live this year! I thought it would be fun and useful to do this live because viewers can ask specific questions as we go through the recommendations, and I can offer specific recommendations to meet their needs. Since I have Jason in the studio for my live streams now, he can relay questions to me so I don’t have to miss a beat. I hope this is extra helpful in determining what to get the artist in your life this holiday season (even if the artist is you!) In order to ask questions in the live stream, you need to watch on the YouTube watch page at 12 pm Eastern time today and submit your questions in the chat. A replay will be available after the stream has ended.

Lindsay’s Official 2025 Artist Gift Guide Recommendations!

Phew! That was quite a list! I tried to go for products that were well made, high quality, useful, and your artist would be unlikely to have already (or wouldn’t mind a spare.) I hope you find it useful, and I hope to see you soon, either at the livestream or in class! Happy crafting!

Let’s Make A House Mouse Christmas CArd!

Hi friends! I know my blogging has been sporadic, but I have been posting 4 videos a week still on YouTube, so if you want to catch up on what you missed, you can see all my recent videos here. I decided to share a Christmas card today because time is of the essence, and I am coloring with alcohol markers, and if you are doing any cards with marker coloring, you need even more time.

That said, I will not be making house mouse cards for my entire Christmas list, so if you get one, you are very special. In today’s video, I will share how I choose colors to use in a project and marker coloring techniques to get the best results. I am using Ohuhu markers. They are very popular and on sale for Black Friday now. They also recently changed their color number system to make it easier to understand, so if you have an older set, you can download conversion charts and printable number cap stickers that you can color and add to your set for the best results. Plus, a hand colored swatch will be better than any plastic color chip.

I will have a Christmas Card bonanza live stream next week, Wednesday, December 3rd, at noon Eastern time, so mark it on your calendar if you want to do some batch cards. I’ll have lots of other painting projects before then, too! I will try to get them posted here, but if you are tired of waiting, you can find them earlier on YouTube. Happy crafting!

Christmas Ornament Painting Party Today at 12pm ET!

Hi friends! Join Jason and me live at noon Eastern Time today as we play with acrylic markers and make Christmas ornaments! You can learn about the various types of paint markers available today. This isn’t a sponsored video; you can ask about any brand, and if I have used it, I will give you the details or a demo if I have it on hand.

You can watch the livestream or the replay in the video player below, but if you want to chat live, be sure to tune in at 12pm today over on YouTube!

I will be painting on some leftover Arteza wood slices; they are the only brand I have used and are smooth and ready to paint on. Mini canvases would be cute too! Feel free to join even if Christmas isn’t your thing, because the tools and techniques can be used on other surfaces for any subject. I hope to see you on YouTube at 12 pm Eastern time today for a fun and festive livestream!

Fun, Quick, Mini Landscapes!

Hi friends! I am still getting back in the swing of things around here, and I have been struggling with energy and motivation, so I decided to make some mini landscapes.

I came up with this project months ago after purchasing some small frame embossing folders, but I lost steam on it. Then I found the supplies for it when I was cleaning the other day, so I thought it would be fun to do during this week’s livestream. To make things simple, I used reference photos from the Color Cube, and I just found out that all the images are ok to use as references. Sarah Renea Clark got permission for the food ones in the first editions, too, so they are all good to use! Yay!

Grab your supplies and paint along with the video below, or use it as a jumping-off point for your own mini masterpieces!
