Ask a Crafter 14: It’s EPIC!

Hello friends! It’s Wednesday and time for the latest episode of Ask a Crafter! My usual sidekick Lorraine was traveling so I asked my friend and author of the book The Rainbow Pants, Kelly Brooks Bay,  to co-host with me. She did a great job and it was a tall order with 7 pages of questions from you guys making this the longest AAC ever! I really love how this show is becoming a crafty collaborative effort, i love seeing the conversations popping up in the comments of my blog and YouTube video page. Crafters are the greatest, most giving people and the advise on stamp clubs and die cutters is invaluable for others. Sharing is caring and I think my viewers are the most caring bunch around! So, without further ado here is the latest installment of Ask a Crafter:

Bet you didn’t think we could talk non stop for 1 hour and 23 minutes did you? Again I want to thank Kelly Brooks Bay for joining me (especially since I put her on the spot the day before I needed to film!) and you can check out her book The Rainbow Pants here, now going into it’s second print run! Congrats Kelly! If you have a question for next week  or a general comment please leave a comment and if you want to get the whole Ask a Crafter experience check out the YouTube watch page where you can join the conversation with loads of other crafters! We all have something to contribute! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

WOYWW: Ask a Crafter 13!

Howdy folks! It is Wednesday and time for What’s on your Workdesk Wednesday! I wasn’t going to WOYWW this week but when I got back from walking the dog this morning I had 2 big boxes on my porch from Papermart! Also on my desk is an ATG gun and refills that my lovely YouTube friend Valerie sent me! Thank you so much Val, I hope I can figure out how to use it!

I am planning to go to town and get some Christmas shopping done today but first I had to unbox all of that crafty goodness, speaking of Christmas you should check Papermart’s prices, you will get WAY more bang for your buck for your crafting and wrapping!

It is figuratively a ton of wonderful goodies from Papermart and you will see this stuff in action in tutorials over the next 6 months. My first planned tutorial is a Thanksgiving centerpiece, be sure to keep an eye out for that!

OK, now down to business, it’s time for this weeks Ask a Crafter! I am so glad to have Lorraine as my co-host again this week, she is a riot! Let’s find out what my viewers and readers asked this week shall we? Oh, and if you have a question for next weeks episode you can leave it in the comments section.

BTW, I did make a lighthouse painting tutorial and I’ll post it on my blog this weekend or if the suspense is killing you it’s on my youtube channel. That’s all for today! Wish me luck Christmas shopping and til next time happy crafting!

WOYWW & Ask a Crafter Week 6!

Hi Folks! It’s Wednesday and time for your weekly glimpse into my creative space. The fact that I have been able to create anything in here is a miracle! You know how when you have one home improvement project going the rest of the house goes downhill fast? Well, case in point, my studio! I have been ripping up my old kitchen tiles and trying the save the floor underneath and I must say I have never been so discouraged with a project! At lease once a day I have to escape to my craft fortress of solitude and make something however I have not been so inspired to clean up after myself. Today I will by golly, I will! So, what that huge disclaimer here is my What’s on you Workdesk Wednesday photo:

BTW, after seeing all of the cool Gelli plate art on fellow WOYWWers desks I had a go at making my own and I made one and it works like a dream, recipe here if you are interested. You’re welcome.

And because it is Wednesday it is time for Ask a Crafter! Oh joy, how lucky for you, 3 pages of questions, 40 minutes of video, I suggest you just press play, crank the volume and go about doing chores or crafting, while you listen…nothing to see here folks LOL!

That’s it for me today. If you want to see other crafty desks head over to Julia’s blog for the complete list of WOYWW players! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

WOYWW & Ask a Crafter Week 5!

Howdy folks, it is still raining but that’s OK, I have plenty of projects inside to keep me busy. I was asked for 2 more illustrations for the book I am working on (got to finish that today!) and I am in the process of tearing up my kitchen floor…never a dull moment! Why am I showing you my desk you ask? Because it is time for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday!

And since it is Wednesday it is time for Ask a Crafter, it’s another epic (epic as in long that is…) broadcast answering 3 pages of great crafty questions. I’ve heard from a few viewers that they play it and listen to it as they go about their crafting or chores, works for me!

WOYWW: Ask A Crafter {week 3!}

Hellooooo friends! It Wednesday so that means it’s time for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday over at the Stamping Ground. My desk, well, this is how it looked at 11pm last night when I closed up shop. I am in the middle of illustrating a children’s book.  I am hoping to have everything wrapped up this week and off to the publisher soon. I can’t wait to share some of the illustrations with you but for now here is the desk littered with my drafting tools and watercolor pencils and a mirror. Oh don’t forget the wine glass, I was working late last night, The beauty of being self-employed, don’t judge.

Also since it is Wednesday it is time for another episode (I’d say installment but episode is more me…look, there’s Lindsay having an episode LOL, see it fits!) of Ask a Crafter. I had another epic 3 pages of questions submitted by blog readers and YouTube viewers and I got to them all without my camera running out of juice. I’m golden this week I tell ya!

So, if YOU have a question just leave a comment and I will answer it on next weeks Ask a Crafter segment! If you want to see more crafty desks check out WOYWW at the Stamping Ground. Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

WOYWW: Ask A Crafter {week 2}

***Don’t forget to leave a comment on yesterday’s post for a chance to win a rubber stamp from About Art Accents!***

Hello friends! I really feel like I have a whole bunch of new friends this week with all of the awesome questions that were posted on my blog and my YouTube channel after the first “Ask a Crafter” video blog. We’ll get to the video in a minute but first, since it is What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, here is a picture of my workdesk today.

Not much happening, I bought a french knitter last week with a 50% off joann coupon because I wanted to try making some beaded jewelry on it. I’ll let you know how it goes;) I think I’ll use the gold crochet thread and some champagne colored “E” beads for my first go, wish me luck! I still have the shimmer watercolors out that I used on yesterday’s faux stained glass cards too. Well it is time for the weekly video blog, I have to warn you, it is long because I answered EVERY question that you asked! I sure hope you find the info useful. Next week, I’ll be more brief…I’ll try anyway! Maybe you could pretend it’s a podcast and just listen while you fold laundry or something LOL!

What do you think, long huh? Well, I’ll keep the written part of this post short and you can check out other crafty desks and join in all of the WOYWW fun! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

WOYWW: Ask a Crafter!

Howdy folks! It is time once again to have a peek at my craft desk. I have supplies to make a fresh batch of summery earrings and I am going to try covering some blank buttons and using them for post style earrings. I’ll let you know how that turns out! Why am I sharing my desk? Because it is What’s on your Workdesk Wednesday and each week the fabulous Julia hosts this super fun crafty blog hop so if you want to see more check out the full list of desks on her blog.

It’s also time for my weekly video blog! I asked you to submit any craft related questions you might have for me last week and I had quite a few on my YouTube video. Today I answer them for you. Question ranges from making rhinestone blingy beads, to craft fair display, resources for cheap craft supplies, photography and more. Have a look:

If you have a crafty question you would like me to answer next week just leave a comment either here on my YouTube video and I will address it in next’s weeks video blog! I’ll even try to slow down when I talk…I’ll try…no promises;) Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
