Fun colors: Jade & Peach

This week at Oriental Stamp Art the theme challenge was “Jade”, in  China the stone Jade is more valuable than gold or diamonds. As for me I just love the color and what better way to make it POP but by adding its compliment (opposite on the color wheel) coraly peach:

Stamps: About Art Accents, Washi Papers (digital): Nicecrane Designs, Pattern paper for envelopes: K&co

I used the Flowered Handled Teapot and the Papercut Carnation stamp from About Art Accents on this set. The washi papers are from the Washi Texture Collage sheet set 1 from Nicecrane Designs. I simply printed the collage sheet and cut up the papers, easy peasy!

I used the scraps from my handmade envelope to accent my card, waste not, want not!

I stamped the teapot  with clear ink then heat-embossed it with sea foam green sparkle embossing powder, then I used emerald green watercolor paint over that. I wiped it with a soft cloth to get the paint off of the embossing.

Tip: make envelopes with pattern paper but use the pattern paper on the inside, the envie will look lined and you can easily write and stamp on the outside. Also you can make a fancy envelope just by using a corner punch on the top flap! Clever, no?

I did a little stamping on the envelope. I love the paper cut carnation stamp, I used my Tombow and Whispers watercolor markers to color directly on the rubber, then I breathed {huffed} on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamped it on my envelope, it is a nice touch I think 🙂 I made the envelope with my Scor-pal, if you ant to see how I have a video here.

This packet is 3"x3.5", perfect for a couple bags of tea!

I used the tea bag template from the TeaRiffic Digital stamp Set at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff to make this tea bag pocket. I stamped the carnation, punched it and layered it on green cs and trimmed with mini scallop scissors. I adhered only the bottom half of the circle so the flap could tuck behind it to close.

Here is a look at the tea packet open. The template comes in a printable and SVG version.

This set qualifies for the following challenges: OSA (Sketch and theme), Creatalicious (Asian), Lucy’s Cards (1 digital element), Pile it On (out of the box), Quixotic (Emboss it), Sisterhood of Scrap (embossing) and  Spoonful of sugar (celebration).

That’s all for today:) Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Stamp Swap Saturday!

Last week I asked some of the stamp designers in the What’s Digital Stamping? Yahoo group if anyone wanted to do a stamp swap and Linda and Tiffany jumped at the chance. You will see what they made with the swapped stamps on their blogs. Here is what I made with their stamps. Firstly I have a tea bag holder card and bookmark made with Teapot and Teacup digistamps from TiffanyDoodles:

Digital stamp: TiffanyDoodles, Paper: GP, Bazzil, Markers: Prismacolor

Here is the inside of the card, I simply made a pocket with a scrap of paper to hold a teabag:

What a fun way to share a cup of tea!

Next I used the Button Heart Digistamps from Linda Tieu:

Digital Stamp: Tortagialla {Linda Tieu}, Paper: GP, Staples, Bazzil, Rubber stamps: Inque Boutique

I printed the image twice, one on cream and once on white cardstock. I trimmed around the cream with deco scissors, inked the edges with brown and colored the buttons with warm gray 40%. Then I colored the buttons printed on white with muted pastel shades, trimmed them and adhered them over the buttons on the cream with pop dots.

Look at all of the dimension!

Now check out what Tiffany and Linda made! {And be sure to leave some love when you do!} Thanks for stopping by and till next time happy Crafting!

PS don’t forget 30% off Everything at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff through tomorrow!

You’re My Cup of Tea!

Sometimes you just need to get inky, am  I right? I saw the cutest sketch this week over at Oriental Stamp Art Challenges and I had to give it a go! Best part is that the card only took a few minutes to make, I used doublemates cardstock so when I folded over the circle flat you see both shade of the green paper:

I used a teal, pink, peach and green color combo, sometimes I like to look for colors that seemingly would clash and get them do work together, I like it!

The teapot is from About Art Accents. The set it comes from is called Teapots

This set of 6 large red rubber stamps is only $24!

Isn’t is precious? You can buy any of the stamps individually for $7-$7.50 or get the whole sheet for $24. They have a special on the “Mice” stamps: 3 for $14! I’ve never seen such a cute sale! This is one of my favorite About Art Accents sets 🙂

That’s all for today, thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
