Last-Minute Valentines & a FREEBIE!

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, don’t panic! Here are a few last minute cards & favors you can whip up tonight. Here is a teacher’s valentine using the library pocket from the Valentines Galore SVG set:

I love the sweet pockets, you could use them for anything. I think they would be sweet holding a journaling tag on a scrapbook layout.

My girls have a Brownie meeting tomorrow so I thought they could make these quick cute lollipop cards tonight:

I got this stamp set for $5 when ACmoore was clearencing their stamp department, when I saw them I thought “valentines!” There is no coloring, you just stamp the outline then stamp the layers in differnt colors, cool! You can use any wild animal stamp you have on these cards tho.

You can stamp any wild animal on the card. You get 6 cards from one sheet of cardstock. Click on the picture below to download.

To download: Click on the picture, it will open a larger picture of this printable, then right click on the big pic and choose "save as"

My son is making the iPod valentines from the Valentines Galore kit, I have prepared all of the supplies he will need to make them in the photo below. This is a very easy project that uses few supplies; to make 24 valentines you only need 3 sheets of cardstock and string. You can cut 8 of the mp3 die cuts from the kit on each 8.5”x11” paper then mix and match the colors when you glue them on. Fast & frugal! The boxes of conversation hearts are 4/$1 at the supermarket or dollar store.

Here is a look at the Valentines Galore SVG and Printable template set, if you need to make some quick valentines tonight it will o the trick!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I have 3 dozen cupcakes to bake (and 3 expert cupcake decorators to help!) so I better get going on that! I hope you enjoy the freebie and til next time happy crafting!

Handmade Valentines for Kids and Teachers!

Howdy folks! I wanted to share a new SVG/Printable set I designed last week called Valentines Galore! There are many templates in this kit to satisfy all of your kid’s classmates, teachers and whoever you want to make a valentine for.

I love the 3-D heart purse, it is so easy because it cuts as one piece out of a standard sheet of cardstock. It is also quick to print and cut if you do not have a die cut machine 😀

I think this library pocket would be cute filled with pencils for a teacher or even as a journaling pocket on a scrapbook page! Also I included a pencil topper so if you don’t want to give out candy you can still give something sweet!

The conversation heart box covers are awesome! These are inspired by an iPod valentine I saw in the magazine Family Fun. I thought how about a calculator and a cell phone too! The really cool thing is you can cut several of these designs out of a few different colors of cardstock and mix & match the buttons and dials. These designs will import in SCAL the exact size of a box of convo-hearts (sweethearts brand) so there is no need to resize anything;) There is no wasted paper and the kids can use white glue to glue the pieces straight to a box of convo-hearts! Easy, inexpensive and the kids can do it themselves. You can le them write their own “texts” in the window and you can still use the to/from spot on the back of the convo heart box.

I also included a plain box in case you wanted to used the covers but fill with your own goodies or even a mini coloring book and crayons!

I hope this gives you some fun ideas to use this valentine’s day! Here is a look at the Valentine’s Galore kit:

Fast & Easy Gift Card Holders!

Wow, Christmas is 11 days away and it really snuck up on me (which is quite odd since I have been working on Christmas projects since June because of magazine deadlines) so I made these cute gift card holders to wrap up my last-minute gift cards for the hard to buy for folks on my list. I used my new Gift Card Holder SVG set on this:

My favorite part is that the cuff of the mitten slides off to reveal the gift card:

Wait, did I say that was my favorite because I think I would love this one the most:

You could substitute movie or theater tickets for the gift card in the wine hanger for a truly personal gift.  And I must admit I do enjoy that wine in the pic and it is only $7 a bottle-score!

I like that these gift card holders can be hung on the Christmas tree so they won’t get lost or buried in a pile of presents and they are pretty to look at too. You can whip up a bunch of the ball ornaments and add a little embellishing for a tree full of charming treats:

You can snag this set instantly right here. Well, I have presents to wrap and cards to address so I am gonna scoot, thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Exploding Box Ornament!

I am so into making ornaments this year, maybe because I am going to be in a craft fair in one week and I am desperate to make stuff to sell LOL! Or, prehaps just because it is fun;) Every year I make some sort of photo ornament for my folks and that is just what I thought of when I designed my Exploding box SVG kit:

By punching a hole in the lid and box bottom I was able to run a folded length of seam  binding through he hole and make an ornament.

Best of all it only took minutes to make since I cut the SVG file with my Cricut. I decorated it with papers from K&Co (double-sided paper is perfect for this because you see both sides!) and stamps from About Art Accents.

Here is what the exploding box looked like before I decorated it:

You can buy the SVG/printable kit here. Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Thanksgiving Sale! 50% OFF!

Who needs black Friday when you can shop at home in your jammies? I myself plan to stay in my PJs til noontime today and work on some crafts with my kids 🙂 Hubby always has to work til 2pm on Thanksgiving so the kids and I watch the Macy’s parade and make stuff, it has kinda become a tradition! If you are looking for some fun crafts to make (SVGs, templates, digistamps, printables, etc) check out the 50% off sale today at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff. Here is a fun SVG set I made for traditional 3-D snowflakes. I learned how to make the snowflakes traditionally but folding and cutting was tedious and time-consuming (it took me over 30 minutes to make 1) so I designed an SVG cutting file and now I can make these in 10 minutes, they are easy enough to make once you get the hang of it that my kids can make them and they are so pretty hung from fishing line like I did here:

I think I will add some glitter to them too. You can find the 3-D snowflake SVG kit here and it is 50% off today!

Don’t miss the 50% off sale at Lindsay’s stamp stuff AND MyGrafico today only. Happy Thanksgiving and til next time happy crafting!

50% off at Lindsay’s, a freebie and new Christmas products!

Howdy folks, I know it is a bit too early to start thinking about Christmas…well, unless, that is, you are selling at craft fairs and in that case you need cute packaging ASAP! And today is the perfect time to grab your needed supplies because it is 50% off today at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff! I was asked by a crafty customer to come up with some printables for her to sell her movie gift kits at craft fairs so I came up with the Holiday Bazzar set. How cute would it be to wrap a few bags of microwaved popcorn, soda bottles and candies and package them in one of those large plastic popcorn boxes from the dollar store, you could throw in a DVD too for a super cute and inexpensive gift!

If you wanted to really spread some holiday cheer you could leave the baskets on a friends doorstep with a note saying “You’ve Been Elfed!”, the 5″x7″ notes in the kit would be perfect for that! You can also used the cards for invitations to a cookie swap and recipe cards!

If you want a cute gag gift for the folks in the office how about some reindeer poop? I found this funny poem online that you can print and slip in the bag:

I woke up with such a scare when I heard Santa call…
“Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!”
I ran to the lawn, and in the snowy white drifts,
those nasty reindeer had left “little gifts”.

I got an old shovel and started to scoop
Neat little piles of “reindeer poop.”
but to throw them away seemed such a waste,
So I saved them, thinking you might like a taste!

As I finished my task, which took quite a while,
Old Santa passed by and he sheepishly smiled.
And I heard him exclaim as he rose to the sky~~~
“Well, they’re not potty trained, but at least they can fly!”

For the kids you might like to send them to school with “Snowman Soup” for their teacher and classmates! I found a poem for this too:

Snowman Soup
Was told you’ve been real good this year.
Always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near,
You’ll need to warm the spirit.
here’s a little Snowman Soup
Complete with stirring stick.
Add hot water, sip it slow.
It’s sure to do the trick!

Isn’t that cute! Both of the poems I found at The Organized Home.com.

A Party and a Freebie!

Well it is good to be back to blogging after a busy few days. My twins turned seven and we had their birthday party over the weekend. My girls chose to have a “rock star diva” themed party and it was a lot of fun to do and I really liked the results! I used the Rock and Roll and Zebra Party Printable freebie kits on this party. We had the shin-dig in the backyard so I took advantage of what was there already. I cleaned the kids’ clubhouse and turned it into a “Tattoo Parlor” and face painting station:

I painted the kids faces and while they waited they could apply rock ‘n roll themed temporary tattoos to themselves. I also had a stash of glam necklaces they could wear and some microphones and inflatable “air guitars” for them to grab and play with. I made the pinata hanging outside the tattoo parlor out of a cardboard box and crepe paper, I’ll post a tutorial on that tomorrow.

We had 15 kids come to the party and they each took 3 swings and it wasn’t until they were on their second turn that it broke apart!

I borrowed an industrial snow cone maker from a friend and it was the hit of the party. I had a hard time finding snow cone syurp so I went to Bed Bath & Beyond and bought chef’s condiment bottles then went to the grocery store and got 100% juice concentrate (the kind in the frozen cans) and filled the bottles with the juice concentrate. They were the best snow-cones I have ever tasted!

I used the water bottle labels in the freebie kit to label the snow-cone  flavors. I used packing tape to laminate the labels so my inkjet printer ink would not run when it got wet, and trust me it would have!

I also used packing tape over the labels on the glass water pitchers. I had looked for glass pitchers with a spigot on the side for a long time and do you know where I found them? Big Lots! And they were a steal at $10 each, I’d grab some now if you want them because they might be seasonal.

I couldnt resist grabbing my camera when the kids all tried to get on the teeter-totter at once (no, I did not put them up to it just to get a good scrapbook photo) how funny!

It is nice to have a pop up canopy over the food table, it keeps leaves from falling in the food and it keeps the sun from heating it up too much AND it provided a decorating opportunity! My friend Glenna found this awesome guitar trim for me and I simply clipped it to the fabric of the canopy with clothespins. I taped 3 balloons to each of the posts and I hung nine paper chandeliers (that I cut with my die cutter) to the metal supports with fishing line.

I like to find decorations that will do double duty and these black chandeliers look glam for a rock party but will also look spooky next month when I decorate for Halloween. I used poster board to cut the chandeliers, it was 50 cents a 22″x28″ sheet at the Dollar Tree and I got 2 chandeliers from each sheet. I used the Summer in Paris Cricut cartridges (I bought it well before my ban on buying provocraft products started in June but I bought it so I am darn well using it LOL!) I will warn you that you need to cut this large and you need poster board or very heavy cardstock (Bazzill was not heavy enough) to make them sturdy. I used a decorative cart to hold the gifts as they came in and it added to the decor.

I did a bit of decorating in my front yard too. I made the double-sided banner from the freebie kit and folded it over our dog-run in the front yard. Of course this would not be a good idea if you needed to use your dog-run but Hazel, our 3-year-old retriever is good so she can roam free so our dog run is purely decorative haha 😉 Also we pit the traditional balloons on the mailbox.

I made the guitar favor boxes using the SVG file in the Rock and Roll party kit but I left off the handle so I could fit more inside. I am trying to get away from putting crappy toys and too much candy in my favor bags (especially since we had a pinata) so here is what I put inside: nail polish, all natural fruit snacks, tattoos, a large glam cocktail ring, a ring pop, sunglasses and a little game in leu if the nail polish for the boys.

The kids had a great time and the only complaint from my girls was that the party was too short! Oh, I forgot to mention that I let the kids have a snowball fight with the leftover snow-cone “snow” after the party…good times;) Here is a look at the kits I used:
