I’m Jolly!

Hey! I am so excited! I just got my copy of Rubber Stamp Madness (winter edition) in the mail today and I had this card published!

I used papers from my Handmade Holidays kit and a bingo card from my Vintage Christmas Labels set and as a bonus they are on sale for 40% off today {Wednesday the 21st} only along with everything at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff so you can stock up and make a few more last-minute goodies:

Don’t you just love the cute santa and alphabet stamps I used? I just love combining digital and traditional products. It is the best of both worlds. I keep a stash of  printed bingo cards in craft area so I can stamp on a quick sentiment when I need it (I also like to keep a stash of library cards on hand too like the one in the Teacher’s Helper set, they are so handy!) Also I love printing just what I need for paper. I tend to hoard my favorite sheets of traditional papers for just the perfect project but with digital papers I can simply print another sheet. The rubber stamps I used on the above card are by Pink Persimmon:

Both sets are so versatile! I’ll show you two other cards I made with that set later this week!

Thanks for taking time out of your busy holiday schedule to have a visit and til next time happy crafting!

Video Tutorial: Homemade Paper Tape!

Hi Folks! I’ve been waiting to post this video since August! I used some awesome button and Jewel stamps from Pink Persimmon in this tutorial and they kept selling out of them so I wanted to wait until they were back in stock because you might want them after seeing this! I made paper tape out of stamps and sticker paper, it was so fun and easy, you can see the tape on this card, the video is at the end of the post:

I made a ruffle out of crepe paper and used glitter nail polish to add quick drying bling to the jewel. I colored my rhinestone with marker to match and made my own seam binding. You can see more tips like that in my latest article in Scrap & Stamp Arts!

Also I wanted to tell you that I have a new article out in the January 2012 issue of Scrap & Stamp Arts Magazine! It is filled with my favorite tips on making your own craft supplies titled, what else? The Frugal Crafter! Check it you on newsstands or get your copy here.

Here is the video, enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by and til net time happy crafting!

Are you mad for markers?

Hiya folks! I just wanted to tell you that an article I worked on and researched for months is finally out in the July 2011 issue of Scrap & Stamp Arts Magazine!

SSA July 2011

I reviewed 12 brands of markers (t’s a tough job but someone’s gotta do it…) and rated them spreadsheet style on factors such as price, unique features, color range, medium (alcohol, watercolor, xylene, India ink), workability, nibs and whether they are refillable or not. Also there are tips on how best to use each type of marker. So if you are in the market for ew markers or just want to get more use out of the ones you have I hope you will give my article a read, it is on newsstands now or you can order a copy from Scott Publications.

Thanks for listening to me toot my own horn (what’s new, right!?!) and til next time happy crafting!
