I live nowhere near the Big Easy but that doesn’t mean I can’t celebrate! I made this colorful Mardi Gras mask using inexpensive products from Papermart. I have done this project in classrooms, summer camps and even as a birthday party activity. It is easy and fun and you can’t make it look bad. I used feathers, rhinestones, gold ribbon, metallic markers, hot glue, a bamboo skewer and cardstock to make this quick project. The mask template can be found here.
You can change-up the colors and make photo props or decorations to hang on the wall, it is such fun. Watch the video to see how it’s done!
Remember, if you are doing this project with the kids you might want to use Thick & Tacky glue or glue dots instead of hot glue, let’s all be safe out there! {Don’t burn your hands off!} 😀
Thanks for stopping by and til next time let the good time roll, oh and happy crafting!
Think of all the ways you could use these templates!
Here is a closer look at the Mardi Gras mask. I used purple, green and gold (traditional Mardi Gras colors) feathers to decorate it. I stamped the designs on the face and embossed them with gold tinsel EP before attaching the nose. The nose is a separate file and can be added to any of the masks, to use it fold it in half the long way then fold back the squared of corners and glue them together, that gives you a sturdy base to attach it to the mask.
I also included a card template for any costume party invitations you might need, I think it kind of looks like a fancy eye pillow so it would be cute as a spa party invite or even a bachelorette party invitation!
Use the enclosed card template to make cute invitations!
I have also had banners on the brain this week! Here is a new set called Pretty Banners SVG that has 8 cutting files for adorable banners perfect to decorate your home for birthday parties and holidays! I have included jpg files as well if you want to hand cut them or convert them for another digital die cutter besides the cricut.
Beautiful banners to cut with your Cricut!
