Customer Spotlight: Linda Martin

I thought it would be fun to see what some of my customers are making with my digital stamps. I occasionally come across cards and crafts made with my products and it is so heartwarming to see your creations. The other day I was browsing the gallery at MyGrafico and I saw some projects that truly knocked my socks off:

This is a 3-D applique embroidery design by Linda Martin made with my Layered Lily digital stamp.

Here is a look at the design on a pillow:

What a lovely pillow!

The Layered Waterlily digital stamp can be found here. Not only does she embroider fabric but cards as well, Linda made these fab cards with the Love Grows here set:

This card was made from the Love grows here set!
I love the stitching, so vintage and homespun:)

Linda Martin is a clever crafter, when I asked her what inspires her crafts she said:

“What inspires me as an artist? Me inspired, I always think that is a funny concept. My sister says I must have a file cabinet in my head and just pull whatever I need when I need it. My DIL BethAnne says God sticks the ideas in my head every night, when I say my prayers and go to sleep. I say I am just a bit on the crazy side. I had one design educator tell me a was an over achiever– but, I really think it’s– that when I see something in my head I need to get it out before I forget how I saw it. Must be that age thing. LOL Mostly, I think,  I have always had a gift to look at something and see it another form beyond the surface. A really badly painted room into a beautifully painted one, that sort of thing. Your 3D paper design into a 3D fabric one. Also, living on a 13 acre cay in the middle of sea creates the need for learning to use and adapt what you have on hand.”

Well, Linda, I’m glad you see the world the way you do and you bring more beauty into it. You can buy her embroidery designs at www.sewazdesigns.com. *Just a note, you may recognize some of Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff and other MyGrafico designers graphics for sale in her shop. All art sold with the commercial licence can be converted AS-IS for digital embroidery, but must be altered if used in a commercial purpose for other formats.

Thanks for sharing your art with is Linda, and thanks for stopping by, til next time happy crafting:)

Where for art thou, Mojo?

I’m wondering where my crafty mojo went this week? Luckily over the weekend I made this set with stamps from the Love Grows here set, paper from the Shabby Houndstooth paper pack and my brand spanking new Prismacolor Markers I bought from Blick Art Materials on sale!

Pretty and quick! Perfect for last minute cards and gifts!

The tag and pocket are a SVG file I designed and you can download it here free! Downlad the SCallop tri-fold card SVG here. Download the scallop tag svg here. You can use it on a scrapbook page to hold hidden journaling or as a cute tag pocket like I did here:

I am loving my new prismacolors! Stamps/template: Lindsay's stamp stuff

I had a scrap of the pink houndstooth paper so I made a simple card with the cherries from Love Grows Here, I used my Cricut and scal software to cut the scallop mat (you can save 10% on scal software until 2/28 with this coupon: 4190114)

Actually I colored the card with just my Bic Markits because my Prismacolors were not here yet, not bad for inexpensive markers!

I have a new kit in the shop this week, it is a layered digital stamp in png and jpg format and a box template on sale for $1.99:

Now lets see what the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff DT has been up to this week! That will kick-start my crafty mojo! With a new month we have a new Guest DT Rebekah Doak, she has not one but two lovely LSS projects on her blog so be sure to scroll down, I am looking forward to a month of inspiring projects from her!

I’m a Cover Girl!

I am so excited I had to share this news with you: I have a card on the cover of the February 2010 issue of Vamp Stamp News!

Woohooo my card made the cover!

It is the one on the top and I used digital stamps for the Love Grows here set. Then I used some heart rubber stamps in light blue ink (you will have to get the magazine to see the detail) to mark of the bingo card like the markers bingo players use and I stamped hearts in the scallops. For the rest of the instructions you will have to get a copy of the magazine, it ships today so it will be in stores in a week or two or you can order it from the VSN website.
