Happy October everyone! Hard to believe that September is gone already! A new month bring us a new guest designer at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff but first, have you ever wanted to print your digital stamps in different colors? Heck yeah! I’ll show you an easy way to go from black to bright, it’s like having a million new inkpads πŸ˜‰

Here is an example of the recolored digital stamps. See below to learn how.

All of the new stamp sets at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff offer png files as well as jpg files, they give you more versitility and the transparet background allows you to layer images. Let’s learn how to recolor our stamps:

In the above example the stamp has been changed from black to yellow, the pattern paper was made from recolored stamps as well.

In these examples I added color to colored stamps with my bic Mark its:

here is how to recolor a stamp:

Step one: Open your graphic editing software. I’m using Paint Shop Pro Photo software but Photoshop elements is quite similar. Open the file you wish to recolor. A png file is best but this will work on a jpg file too (I tried it to make sure;)

Click on the Adjust tab and choose Hue/saturation/lightness.

Click adjust and pich Hue/sturation/lightness. If you are not using PSP look for works like hue, color, channel mixer or red/green blue. you will find there are many ways to adjust the color of your stamp in any of the craphic/photo software you use.

Click the default button and you will see two preview boxes that look the same. Click colorize, then play with the sliders to get the color you want (top slider), the brightness aka saturation (Left slider), and the lightness (right slider). Note if you are using a jpg file you will need to keep the lightness towards light because the fader will effect the background too making it black or grey, with a png file you don’t need to worry as the background is clear.

Here is what it looks like is PSP. You may have faders like I do or you my have boxes where you type how much red, green and blue you want. Just play around until you get the color you want;)

I layered the colored leaf stamps over one another (see, because it is a png I can overlap them and you see the colors beneath) to make this free card background paper for you. I even put a “created by” spot on the back for you to sign your name because DT Tracey gave me heck for not signing my cards πŸ˜‰

Here is a freebie for you, print and cut the paper in half and you have 2 card bases ready to go! It is easy on the ink cartridges too!

Freebie for the kids (and kids at heart:)

Happy Sunday everyone, sorry I didn’t have time to post over the past 2 days, my kids got out of school for the summer on Friday and yesterday I spent a lovely afternoon with my high school classmates for our 15th class reunion. What fun! I was nice to see (despite my classes reputation for being slackers and partiers) that we all turned out OK!

Today I made a little card kit. I was drawing with my children this morning and I sketched a couple “party animals” and I thought hmmm, that would be cute on a kids card, then I thought, hmmm why not make a card that a kid could color:

Just print and cut the sheet in half and you have two cards already embellished, let junior color in the animals and you’re done! There is even a “handmade by” on the back so your little one can proudly write their name when they are finished. Now you will never be caught short handed when a child’s birthday rolls around!

Download the ready to color card kit here.

If you just want the stamps you can download the elephant digital stamp here and the party chicken digital stamp here. *Note, I literally drew these on a scrap of paper with a ball point pen this morning, these are nothing fancy but if you can use them enjoy πŸ˜‰

While I have your ear I woulds also like to ask for your help. My Friend Terry over at Creative Cuts and More has a customer with a sick child. She has a brain tumor that is inoperable but there is hope with chemotherapy. They are selling handmade cards to help with the financial strains on the family. If you have any extra handmade cards that you could send to her shop for them to sell, all money will go the the family to help with hospital bills I would appreciate it. You can mail any handmade cards to:

Creative Cuts & More
10940 South Parker Road #435
Parker, CO 80134

Thank you so much! Also Creative cuts and more is looking for some guest designers. If you can rock a die cut you should apply and I have to say that Terry is a dream to work for! Interested? Click here for details.

That’s all for today, thanks for stopping by, enjoy the freebies and till next time happy crafting!

Card Kit Freebie!

I am a hybrid crafting kinda girl. I love the flexibility of digital but I still love to get my hands dirty with traditional supplies. When I make cards I usually just use scraps leftover from other projects. I love digital paper but I wouldn’t want to print out a full sheet just for a card, ink is expensive you know. So I designed some printable card kits. each kit has enough paper and embellishments for 3 cards. Just print, trim and glue it to a pre-folded card, add a stamp and you’re done.Β  I made this kit in a school theme for my lovely blog readers just in time to make end-of-the-school-year teacher cards. All of the pattern paper and elements came from one printed sheet. Take a look:

these 3 cards were made with the freebie cardkit printed once, the middle card uses the freebie digital stamp (Lindsay's Stamp Stuff) other rubber stamps are by Inque Boutique.

Christmas Word Search

It’s that time of the year again! Black Friday the official start to the Christmas season. I’m spending this day crafting with my kids rather that hitting the sales. I took some time this morning to make an element for my Christmas cards. I found a nifty word search maker on line and created a Christmas word search for my handmade Christmas cards. Of course you could make a Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or winter themed search too. After you create the search you can right click on it to save it then print as many as you want. Here is one I made.

30,000 hits!!! Freebie time!

I can’t believe my blog finally got 30,000 hits! Wow! Thank you so much for visiting and special thanks to all of you who have left comments over the past months, it makes this so worthwhile. As promised I have a big ole freebie…well several actually…I started making this kit and I just couldn’t stop! I have a big digi-kit here plus 2 sheets of printable tags and a file folder for you hybrid gals and a huge SVG bundle for my Scal/Cricut friends! I hope you enjoy this, it was a ball to make!

Here is the link for the SVG pack

Most of the elements are actual watercolors (there would have been black and white versions too but I was painting with my kids and an unexpected splash hit my drawing before I scanned them, oh well) I think the texture of the paint and paper is unique. It is also a great way to make your own custom supplies, stamp, collage or paint up some paper, scan it and you will have it whenever you want it! Cool huh?

The digikit and svg pack are zipped files(.rar) so you will need to extract them by right clicking on the folder and choosing “extract files” but the printables are ready to go, just download and print just like a photo. The printable sheets are included in the digi-kit so you don’t need to download them twice. The SVG files are separate. If you would like to cut these files with your cricut you will need SCAL software and you can buy it here for $70 (cheaper than a cartridge at full price and you can cut almost all the fonts on your computer!) not bad.

Enjoy the freebies, tell your friends and thanks for stopping by and as always happy crafting…oh and if you make something with this leave a link so I can marvel at your work. BTW this is S4H OK!
