Coffee ATCs & Stamp Show Ticket Giveaway!

Edit: the 6 tickets have been awarded for the Heirloom Stamp Show, thanks for playing! Discount presale tickets are still available if you are going and want to save a few bucks. I hope to see you there!

Hi friends! I am delighted again this year to be able to give away tickets to the Heirloom Productions Stamp Show & Paper Arts Festival happening in West Springfield MA May 31-June 1st. My only requirement is that I want to give the tickets to people who will use them so the first 6 people to leave a comment saying “I am definitely going to the Heirloom Show in MA and would love a ticket!” will get one.  So if you are going and want a tick comment now before reading the rest of the post so you don’t miss out! If you do want to go but missed the giveaway you can still preorder tickets at a discounted rate or sign up for classes on the Heirloom Productions website through May 28th. I’m not teaching this year, I am going to play and shop! I hope to see you there! Stamp shows are so much fun! I always meet good people and see interesting products that you don’t see in stores or online. I love the demos and being around energetic, creative people! Every year the folks at Heirloom have an Artist Trading Card contest and I always submit one. This year I made extra to trade! The theme is coffee:

These were a lot of fun to make! I’m a coffee drinker (I bet you couldn’t tell!) and I have collected quite a few coffee themed rubber stamps over the years! Many were too big for ATCs which must be 2 1/2″x3 1/2″ but that demure size had me stretch my creativity and it was fun! Watch the video to see how I made these and if you go to the Heirloom show and make ATCs find me so we can trade!

Remember, the first 6 people to comment telling me that they are going to the show and want tickets will get them. After that, you can purchase advance discount tickets on the Heirloom Productions website through the 28th OR pay admission at the door (it’s cheaper to buy tickets ahead of time.) I am doing it this way instead of a random draw so that I can get the winners names to Heirloom soon and people won’t have to wait around for a name to be drawn and miss out ordering online. I hope that all makes sense LOL! Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

I almost restarted recording but thought nah…oh, and winners!!!!

Howdy friends! I just got back from my kids elementary school band concert, it really means the school year is almost done when that rolls around! Last week when Kathy and Lorraine came over I talked them into filming a second AAC episode for you! I am not sure when the next one will be because I am “right out straight” until the Heirloom Stamp show. Speaking of that, I have winners to announce!!! The following people will get a free admission ticket to the Heirloom Production Show in West Springfield MA, don’t fret if you did not win you can still get discounted pre-sale tickets online for $6 each ($8 at the door) and while you are there you might want to sign up for one of my watercolor for stampers classes. I am so excited about meeting many of you at the show! If I had fewer than 12 people enter to win I was going to give some winners extra tickets but since we had many more than that each winner will get one weekend pass to the show. The winners are:

Marnie

Brenda

Syd Howard

Stephanie

Ginny Maxam

Betty Wlazlo

Jennifer

Sara

Jen Johnson

janinep325

Carol Blais

Sgrovo

Winners, I have sent your email addresses (the one you used when leaving a comment here) to Heirloom and you will receive a custom printable ticket via email. I can’t wait for the stamp show!

And now, here is the latest Ask a Crafter, we got off to a rough start, well, what’s new right LOL!

I’d love to chat more by it is getting late and I need to chillax…OK it’s late, I normally don’t talk like the cool kids, well, like they did 5 years ago LOL! Have a great night and til next time happy crafting.

AAC is Back & Sign-up to Win Tickets to the Heirloom Stamp Show!

Hi friends! I spur-of-the-moment called Kathy and Lorraine yesterday and asked them if they could shoot an Ask a Crafter episode, turns out I had enough questions in the jar for 2 (yay! there will be an AAC next week too!) I really wanted to have them on because we are getting so excited for the Heirloom Stamp Show in West Springfield June 6-7 and Heirloom is giving me 12 tickets to give away! Just leave a comment saying you want to win tickets if you will be in the W. Springfield Massachusetts area June 6-7th so I can make sure someone who can use them wins. Also note if you could use an extra ticket, that way if fewer than 12 sign up I can make sure that none go to waste. I will give the email addresses of the winners to the folks at Heirloom Productions and they will email you printable tickets (no need to put your email in the comment, I can see it on the back-end, that is why I am doing to contest here and not on YouTube because it is hard to get hold of people there if they win.) I’ll pick a winner next Wednesday. Oh, and I am teaching 2 watercolor for stampers classes on June 5th at the convention center. There is room in the Watercolor Techniques for Stampers class but the Using Watercolor to Stamp is almost full (it might be sold out because you can’t register online for it anymore, you have to call) so if you are interested in either of those classes sign up now! I also think we ought to have a meet up, maybe at Chili’s Friday night, or at Micheal’s Craft Store…anyone?

OK, enough of that, I don’t want anyone to be sad if they do not have a stamp show near them (heck, we have to drive 5 hours so I feel your pain, at least I have good company for the ride!) so let’s get on with the show!

That WAS fun! I am so glad I got caught up on projects and was able to squeeze in time with the ‘girlfriends! Thanks so much for spending some of your busy day with us and til next time happy crafting!

Classes are Open for Registration in W. Springfield!

Hi friends! If you left a comment on my 2015 classes page I emailed you yesterday to let you know my watercolor for stampers classes were open for registration. I wanted to make sure that anyone interested could get a spot so if you want to take the class you can sign up on the Heirloom Productions website. Here is a quick video to tell you all about it:

If you have crafty friends in the Northeast please let them know and help me spread the word. This is my first time teaching at this convention and I really want it to be successful! I will be attending the convention all weekend so if you are there shopping and you see me please say “howdy!” Here are previews of the projects we will make in the classes. Each class is $35 and there is no overlap between classes so you can take them both (as long as there is still room!) I will provide the supplies for use in the class but I recommend bringing your own scissors and adhesive for the techniques class.

Tip: if you are buying tickets and signing up for multiple classes be sure to click the back button after clicking on the class you want so you can have everything on one order (they charge a $1 processing fee per order) so you can save a few bucks and that means more money for stamps LOL!

Class size is limited to 24 so please sign up early to be sure you will get a spot! Check out the Heirloom Productions website to register, thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Stamp with me in Springfield!

Hi friends! I just wanted to give you the heads up that I will {hopefully} be teaching 2 stamping and watercolor classes at the Heirloom Stamp Show in West Springfield  Massachusetts in June. Are you going? I’d love to meet you! I have so much fun there every year! I wanted to make sure my blog readers get first dibs on the class (only 16 students are allowed in each class) so if you want to be notified when sign ups are posted leave a comment on my class page and I will let you know. The classes will likely be on June 5th or they could be held on the 6th or 7th. Who knows, maybe they would let me repeat the class on Sunday if the Friday spots fill up…now that would be cool! Here is a preview of the two classes:

Please visit my class page for more info and samples. If there is a good response I might teach at other conventions! If you are wondering if there is a Heirloom Stamp Show in your area you can visit their website  or Facebook page (you could also tell them how much you’d love to take my class! Just kidding….not kidding, tell them! Kidding…not.) I hope you are finding some time to be crafty this weekend. It is snowing again up here in Maine (shocking) so I think we will be inside and crafty tomorrow! Thanks so much for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

My Crafty Heirloom Stamp Show Haul! See what I got!

Howdy Friends! I had a wonderful time at the Heirloom stamp convention last weekend. Not only did I spend time with some fabulous ladies but I got some really unique supplies too from vendors that I can’t find locally. When you go to a stamp show you see new things and learn new ways to use them. Since I have been stamping for a long time I was trying to avoid the typical stamps I am drawn too (how many vintage sewing machine stamps does one need anyway?) and instead get unique designs that would fill out my collection. Have a look at what I got, not that frugal I will admit but I only do it once a year. I don’t often do haul videos but when I do I like to  show you what I got and how I intend to use it. have a look:

Here is a list of the stamp companies I showed in the video. Please support your independent stamp companies and local stamp stores if you are lucky to have them. Your dollars mean more there and keep the hobby thriving. 🙂 If you do visit any of the companies I listed please let them know that you heard about them here from Lindsay the Frugal Crafter. Knowing that the word got out because of people attending these stamp shows will make them want to be vendors at shows in the future. If you want to know if there is a stamp show in your area check out the convention schedule at Rubber Stamp Madness, they list stamp and scrapbook shows from different promoters, there is a lot of fun to be had!

Lost Coast Designs (Arches, bugs, keys, vintage rose, checkerboard, funny sentiments, hardware and hexagon stencil)
Too Much Fun (Mailbox, stove, snowglobe, monkeys in a barrel, TV)
Sweet & Sassy (skyline)
DRS Designs (stained glass stamps)
Local King (European Vacation, Chicks, vintage cameras, ship in bottles)
Technique Junkies (now carrying the Stamp Camp line! I got the tree with leaves/birds)
Impression Obsession (tree, lemonade stand)
Magenta (bird stencil)
Stampendous (large butterfly and poppy stamps with templates)
Close to my Heart (viewmaster reel set-Reel Life) *this is a demonstrator based business so you need to order from a consultant unless they are selling at a show. If you are a Demo and want to share your info you can leave it in the comments:)

ScrapMart ($10 dies) and they have the deals on the website!

What items did you like best? I’d love to know because I will take it into consideration when planning my summer tutorials! I’m happy to report that many of the stamps have seen ink today thanks to my daughters who were excited to dig in to the stash (they want to come with me to the show next year but I think not, I’m keeping this a ladies getaway for as long as I can, or at least as long as our family vacations involve a trip to an amusement park LOL!)  I hope you enjoyed this peek into my shopping bag, thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

We are Three Wild and Crazy Gals! AAC 38 & my 600th video!

Howdy friends! This is a milestone video in so many ways, first of all I managed to get Kathy and Lorraine both in the studio (see, they are not the same person) and it is my 600th YouTube video! I just realized that I have been making videos for just over 4 years but the last 400 videos were done over the last year! I owe it all to the “pause record” feature on my camera allowing me to edit on the fly…oh and I owe it to you for watching and cheering me on everyday. Thanks guys:) I was lucky this week to get Kathy and Lorraine to be on the show, if you have half as much fun watching as we did filming a good time will be had by all!

And if you are in the New England area I hope you will check out the Heirloom Stamp Show in W.Springfield Mass June 7-8th. We will be there on Saturday so be sure to say “Howdy” if you see us, I’m not involved with the show, just shopping, but it is a great time and some of my favorite stamp companies will be there too! If you have a question for next weeks show you can leave it in the comments. Also, be sure to check out the comment thread on YouTube, there is always great ideas shared from other crafters. Great work guys! Well, I think I better be off, I finally was suckerd in to doing the free trial of amazon prime (they have the first 3 seasons of Grimm on there and I needed quick shipping on a backpack for the boy) and my TV is not going to watch itself…er uh I mean I joined prime for the books, yeah…the books…Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
