I’m Back with a Late Sketchbook Sunday & Canada Craft Haul!

Hi friends! I am back online after a weekend in New Brunswick with the family! Even though I am back online you can still use the coupon code OFFLINE45 to get 45% off any class in my online school through Labor Day! After you click enroll you can enter the coupon by clicking “add coupon” on the payment page.  I want to thank my students for their patience this weekend in getting their questions answered. I really needed the weekend off and a getaway before my kids started school today. We drove up to Saint John, Visited some parks and the New Brunswick Museum, had some delicious (and quite affordable) meals and stopped in St. Andrews on the way home to visit the aquarium.  The hotel we stayed at in St John was right next to a Micheals! I was so thrilled because I do not have one near me so only go about once or twice a year. I also wanted to visit Dollarama because I have seen some Canadian YouTubers get some cool stuff there. In today’s video I’ll show you what I picked up and what I plan on using the items for.

I am excited to scrapbook the trip because I have some maps, brochures and the lovely painted taffy bag as well as photos of the kids and even me and hubby. Canadians are so nice I was asked several times if I wanted my photo taken with my kids when I was taking a pic. I love our friendly neighbors to the north! We are thinking of visiting Prince Edward Island next summer so if anyone has any advice for staying there please let me know. I am an anxious traveler so it’s nice to have a bit of a plan before I go. I hope you enjoyed this weird little sketchbook Sunday on a Monday and if you are interested in seeing a video of the scrapbook pages I plan to do of this trip let me know. Til next time happy crafting!

Just a quick post and a haul video!

Hi friends! I hit the end of year overstock sales pretty hard this year. I like to stock up on workshop, video and class staple supplies when prices are low. Everything I purchased was 55%-90% off.

Wanna see what I got? Watch the video!

More info for folks looking for the things I bought:

AC Moore is an east coast craft store and does not have a website where you can order but you can find stores and grab coupons on their website.

Jerry’s Artarama has the lowest prices on art supplies and had a massive overstock and clearance sale, it might still be on.

The Stampendouns stamps/stencils I showcased can be purchased for the lowest price at Hallmark Scrapbook  *Their prices are lowest but they also sell out fast Simon Says Stamp also has them, a huge selection, and they are usually in stock

*Links to Hallmark Scrapbook and Simon Says Stamp are affiliate links which means I earn a small commission on any purchase you make after clicking the link without cost you more:) Thank you for your support!

Let me know what you would like to see me use first! Happy crafting!

Sometimes Sunshine is the BEST Medicine!

Hi friends! I always thought it was a romantic notion when doctors would prescribe a holiday by the sea to an ailing patient in old English literature. Not that I’m all that well read but the grandmothers doctor did in Roald Dahl’s book the Witches and that’s good enough for me, and that’s some wicked fine literature too! I spent the afternoon at the beach today with a couple of friends and the kids, it was lovely and I feel worlds better for it! Here is a little watercolor sketch I did at the beach today:

Today I have a vloggy haul video.  I had some requests to do a birthday haul so I decided to share the crafty gifts I received!

Video!

I want to thank you for following my blog, in the video I mentioned a friend who’s crafty channel was terminated wrongfully and thank goodness she got it back last night. I would hate to lose contact with my crafty peeps and subscribing to my blog (which you probably are since you are reading this, if not there is a box in the upper left hand sidebar of this page) and my email newsletter (which I only send if there is something new and extra exciting!) I am so relieved that my friend got her channel back but it really makes you worry about your livelihood when you make online videos for a living but even worse would be to lose all the connections with your artsy community. Thank you so much for being a part of this community and sharing part of your day with me, til next time happy crafting!

How About a Haul? Dollar Tree that is!

Hi friends! I wanted to pop in really quick tonight and share the fun Christmas craft supplies I snagged at Dollar Tree this week. I am not sponsored by Dollar Tree, I just like sharing a deal and the seasonal stuff sells so fast I did not want you to miss out if you wanted anything. Still kicking myself that I didn’t pick up an extra brain mold at Halloween LOL! Oh, and I forgot to show it in the video but I got a great wire wreath form too with 4 rows of wire on it in the floral department. C’est la Vie!

Video!

Sorry I didn’t have  a blog post for you yesterday, I needed a break:) We went to the Shriners Festival of Trees in Bangor, WOW 80 Christmas trees all decked out with awesome presents under them, you can buy tickets and drop them in the buckets by the trees you like and they draw a winner for each tree, I hope we win one (then I just might leave my decorations in the attic and plunk that beauty down in my Living room LOL!) It is a great fundraiser and I was glad to see it packed because the Shriners help so many sick kids who never see a bill for their treatments at Shriners Hospitals. And last night I got together with a dozen moms and we went out to dinner and to see the last Hunger Games movie, Mockingjay Part 2, we have done this every year (watching a different YA book inspired movie) since our kids started school, it is a lot of fun and laughter! I am so glad to be part of a great community in real life as well as online:) I hope you have a good week and I hope you have some time to pause, relax and enjoy. Til next time happy crafting!
