Just a quick post and a haul video!

Hi friends! I hit the end of year overstock sales pretty hard this year. I like to stock up on workshop, video and class staple supplies when prices are low. Everything I purchased was 55%-90% off.

Wanna see what I got? Watch the video!

More info for folks looking for the things I bought:

AC Moore is an east coast craft store and does not have a website where you can order but you can find stores and grab coupons on their website.

Jerry’s Artarama has the lowest prices on art supplies and had a massive overstock and clearance sale, it might still be on.

The Stampendouns stamps/stencils I showcased can be purchased for the lowest price at Hallmark Scrapbook  *Their prices are lowest but they also sell out fast Simon Says Stamp also has them, a huge selection, and they are usually in stock

*Links to Hallmark Scrapbook and Simon Says Stamp are affiliate links which means I earn a small commission on any purchase you make after clicking the link without cost you more:) Thank you for your support!

Let me know what you would like to see me use first! Happy crafting!

How About a Haul? Dollar Tree that is!

Hi friends! I wanted to pop in really quick tonight and share the fun Christmas craft supplies I snagged at Dollar Tree this week. I am not sponsored by Dollar Tree, I just like sharing a deal and the seasonal stuff sells so fast I did not want you to miss out if you wanted anything. Still kicking myself that I didn’t pick up an extra brain mold at Halloween LOL! Oh, and I forgot to show it in the video but I got a great wire wreath form too with 4 rows of wire on it in the floral department. C’est la Vie!

Sorry I didn’t have  a blog post for you yesterday, I needed a break:) We went to the Shriners Festival of Trees in Bangor, WOW 80 Christmas trees all decked out with awesome presents under them, you can buy tickets and drop them in the buckets by the trees you like and they draw a winner for each tree, I hope we win one (then I just might leave my decorations in the attic and plunk that beauty down in my Living room LOL!) It is a great fundraiser and I was glad to see it packed because the Shriners help so many sick kids who never see a bill for their treatments at Shriners Hospitals. And last night I got together with a dozen moms and we went out to dinner and to see the last Hunger Games movie, Mockingjay Part 2, we have done this every year (watching a different YA book inspired movie) since our kids started school, it is a lot of fun and laughter! I am so glad to be part of a great community in real life as well as online:) I hope you have a good week and I hope you have some time to pause, relax and enjoy. Til next time happy crafting!

Oh, the Consumption…I feel faint…

My name is Lindsay and it’s been 28 hours since my last craft purchase. Hi friends! Do you ever feel like you are consuming more than creating? I feel like I have been very productive crafting but I have also been a productive shopper. I seem to go in spurts with shopping, I can go months with only buying necessary items for my business (framing supplies, packaging material) and then occasionally I fall off the wagon! June had been a big craft shopping smorgasbord with the Heirloom Stamp Show and tonight I will share some things I ordered on a great sale (to be fair I had a  gift card for all but $10 at Jerry’s Artarama.) Oh and yesterday, I needed new sneakers and while I was out I stopped into Joann and ACmoore and some 97 cent a roll duct tape and other deals leaped into my basket, phew, it feels good to get that off my chest. I feel conflicted when I post a haul, on one hand I am excited and I like sharing the deals in case anyone is also looking for the items I found and I am interested in hearing what you would like me to demo first BUT I don’t want anyone to feel let down if they do not have access to what I have. I sometimes feel like “How can I call myself frugal when I have so much?” Although I hope that my videos can help others save money I’d rather spend my money to test out stuff and see if it is worth it (and share it in videos) so others can make informed decisions with their money. But on the other hand it might be enabling people to buy stuff. Hmmmm, what to do. Post a warning maybe? This is a haul video and may cause the overpowering urge to buy craft supplies?

Watch at your own risk.

I am actually really excited to try the creative palette vs the Gelli plate as the creative palette is generally cheaper and thinner to store. I hope to give it a try before my vacation, I am shooting double videos every day to make sure I will have videos for you when I go offline for a week. Let me know if there is any product you are excited about me trying, i have a very crafty week ahead of me! Oh and the other spree I mentioned earlier will be posted sometime when I am on vacation, I guess there are worse kinds of sprees to go on…nobody’s perfect. Thanks for stopping by and being my support group tonight and til next time happy crafting!

My Crafty Heirloom Stamp Show Haul! See what I got!

Howdy Friends! I had a wonderful time at the Heirloom stamp convention last weekend. Not only did I spend time with some fabulous ladies but I got some really unique supplies too from vendors that I can’t find locally. When you go to a stamp show you see new things and learn new ways to use them. Since I have been stamping for a long time I was trying to avoid the typical stamps I am drawn too (how many vintage sewing machine stamps does one need anyway?) and instead get unique designs that would fill out my collection. Have a look at what I got, not that frugal I will admit but I only do it once a year. I don’t often do haul videos but when I do I like to  show you what I got and how I intend to use it. have a look:

Here is a list of the stamp companies I showed in the video. Please support your independent stamp companies and local stamp stores if you are lucky to have them. Your dollars mean more there and keep the hobby thriving. 🙂 If you do visit any of the companies I listed please let them know that you heard about them here from Lindsay the Frugal Crafter. Knowing that the word got out because of people attending these stamp shows will make them want to be vendors at shows in the future. If you want to know if there is a stamp show in your area check out the convention schedule at Rubber Stamp Madness, they list stamp and scrapbook shows from different promoters, there is a lot of fun to be had!

Lost Coast Designs (Arches, bugs, keys, vintage rose, checkerboard, funny sentiments, hardware and hexagon stencil)
Too Much Fun (Mailbox, stove, snowglobe, monkeys in a barrel, TV)
Sweet & Sassy (skyline)
DRS Designs (stained glass stamps)
Local King (European Vacation, Chicks, vintage cameras, ship in bottles)
Technique Junkies (now carrying the Stamp Camp line! I got the tree with leaves/birds)
Impression Obsession (tree, lemonade stand)
Magenta (bird stencil)
Stampendous (large butterfly and poppy stamps with templates)
Close to my Heart (viewmaster reel set-Reel Life) *this is a demonstrator based business so you need to order from a consultant unless they are selling at a show. If you are a Demo and want to share your info you can leave it in the comments:)

ScrapMart ($10 dies) and they have the deals on the website!

What items did you like best? I’d love to know because I will take it into consideration when planning my summer tutorials! I’m happy to report that many of the stamps have seen ink today thanks to my daughters who were excited to dig in to the stash (they want to come with me to the show next year but I think not, I’m keeping this a ladies getaway for as long as I can, or at least as long as our family vacations involve a trip to an amusement park LOL!)  I hope you enjoyed this peek into my shopping bag, thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
