I am ga-ga for valentines, especially ones with a vintage flair and if they can hold candy all the better! Today I put together an easy tutorial {with freebies} so you can make a cute hanging heart pocket too:
There is so much you can do with the Steampunk kit, I love it for masculine birthday cards too! Here is the freebie kit, BTW the PDF tutorial is in the kit too:) Click the pic to download it ๐
Now let’s see what the rest of the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff DT has created for us today, also we must bid a fond farewell to Laurel Seabrook, we have enjoyed her stunning creations every week for the past 6 months and we will miss you!
Hey! It’s time to make room for new product in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop at MyGrafico and I have a bunch of retiring sets that you can snag for $1, You will still be able to purchase the sets in my Shophandmade shop {at full price} but why not grab a deal now?
I have been in the mood for Valentine’s day this week {with a cold New England winter ahead it is something nice to look forward too plus I have ALWAYS loved Valentines day!} Here are some cards I made with the SVG die cutting files that are included in my new A Little Lovin’ kit from Lindsay’s stamp Stuff, I used my Cricut and SCAL software to die cut all the shapes.
I love how these “sweet” cards are not Valentine specific, heck you can use these long after Valentines day!
And of course a valentines card for hubby {let’s hope he isn’t reading my blog today ๐ LOL}
Tip: When making a batch of cards arrange all of your die cuts on one mat separated by color, then place different colored papers on the mat. That is how I cut these designs all in one pass in about 5 minutes!
Now here is a look at the A Little Lovin’ set, you get clip art in JPG and PNG format plus fully editable EPS and SVG art files and SVG cutting files that have been specifically optimized for die cutting.
Did you know that most of my clip art sets come with SVG cutting files at no extra charge, gotta love a little something extra:) Speaking of a little something extra here is a cute Valentine digital stamp freebie. To download click on the image, then right-click on the larger picture and choose “Save as” Easy peasy (and no waiting for 4shared-I hate that!)
Now let’s see what the LSS DT have cooked up for you this week:
I hope you had a happy new year! Don’t forget the New Years Retirement sale is going on now through Sunday at MyGrafico, be sure to look through all of the great retiring products, you won’t want to miss this deal!
One last thing…a tip: to make a card really special hand stamp an envelope as I did to go with my “Who Loves You” card, it is a fun way to break in new rubber stamps or use some old favorites and as a bonus your card will brighten the day of the mail carriers who deliver it!
Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
Wow, Christmas is almost here! I have been busy in my craft room making cards, wrapping presents and lately, making last-minute gifts! Here are a few tags I made to adorn a few gift baskets I am putting together, these only took minutes with the help of my Vintage Christmas Label stamp set to make the gift extra special:
I used my Vintage Christmas Label digital stamp set to make these. I printed out sheets of labels a while back knowing that I would want to make Christmas tags and gift bag toppers with them {it was so easy!} The cute treat cups are from Stampin Up! {I better order more the next time I see my demo!}
To make the pretzels simply melt chocolate wafers in a Pyrex measuring cut for 1 minute {half-power} in the microwave, then in 30 second intervals until melted. Dip the pretzels in the chocolate {you can use a spoon to draw the chocolate up the pretzel if your cup is too shallow} and lay them on a sheet of wax paper to cool. While they are still melty shake on some sprinkles for fun! I packaged them in my Uline clear self sealing bags that I use to protect my cards, the bags to double duty in my craft room because they are FDA approved food safe. This is a great project to do with the kids, mine have been making these since they were 3, just be sure mom or dad do the melting! Here is a look at the other toppers I made with the Vintage Christmas Label set:
OK now here is a fun freebie, I was playing with my SCAL2 software and my Stampin Up! Sweet Treat cups and thought I could make a cute ornament! I did not have a 1 3/4″ punch so I designed a scut2 file that will fit the cups perfectly:
You can snag the free SCUT2 file here. To cut more than 1 simply drag a box around the whole design and copy and paste it as much as you want. If you do not want to use the treat cups you could put a photo in the opening it could be a great christmas tradition-be sure to make one for grandma too!
BTW if you have not found a gift for the Cricut owner on your list see if they have SCAL2 and if they don’t get it for them! It’s on sale for $59.95, you could spend that on 1 cartridge and with this software you can cut thousands of fonts with your cricut for free:) You can download it instantly too so no waiting (or shopping) either.
I challenged the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff DT to create some terrific tags for you this week, as promised they have quick and easy tags you can make today. All DT posts will be up by 10am Thursday morning ET.
Looking for a fun way to package a gift? How about in aย bottle? Iย saw a neat idea from Scrapalette over on the Cricut message board and I had to give it a try! But before I show you how I want to let you know that EVERYTHING in my shop is 25% off through Saturday!
OK, now that’s out-of-the-way on to the fun! I made a “Movie Night in a Bottle” using the 2 liter soda bottle label from the Movie PArty Printable kit:
I put bags of microwave popcorn, movie size candy and fun size candy in the bottle too. I will give this along with some wrapped up DVDs as a Christmas gift. Wanna know how I got everything in that bottle? Take a look…
Neat huh? Here are some tips on the soda bottle project:
Rinse out the bottle before you cut, then after you cut the hole you can reach through it and dry the inside of the bottle with a paper towel.
Put in the larger items first then fill in with smaller. You can always drop in really small items or shredded colored paper through the neck of the bottle to fill the top if needed.
Type info in the printable label before you print for a polished professional look!
Look in your recycling bin, you may find other cool bottles (like the square juice bottles) that will hold even more!
And here is your freebie, it is basic so you can use it anytime!
to download: click on the tag, then right-click on the larger tag and choose "save as" Enjoy!
The rest of the Lindsay’s stamp stuff DT has quick packaging ideas for you this week, have a look and your wrapping will be a snap this year! *DT post will be live at 10am Thursday ET.
Egadz!ย I have a kid home sick, 2 dozen cupcakes to bake, a flooded basement (aka craftland) and I still haven’t sent out my Christmas cards! If you are in the same boat here is another quick design you can make in minutes with the Winter Wear stamps from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff:
The steps for this are so easy:
Emboss the front of a 4.25″x5.5″ with an embossing folder. Trim 1.4″ off the bottom of card.
Rubber stamp the sentiment (optional because the digistamp has a sentiment too, I just like the flat box on this EB folder for additional stamping)
Color digistamp image (or leave it if you are really pressed for time), trim with a circle cutter and adhere to card over a ribbon.
I made about 8 of these in 45 minutes the other day. I used my Envelope bonanza kit to make my envelopes for the card. The BBenvie SVG template will allow me to cut 2 envelopes from a 12″x12″ sheet of scrapbook paper so it saves me supplies and money. I cut them with my Cricut and SCAL2 software (A great gift for anyone on your Christmas list with a Cricut machine and SCAL2 is on sale for $59!) I also made some of these with the mittens die cut from freeย Winterwear SVG set also cut with my Cricut and SCAL2 software.
Well, I better get some work done before my sick kiddo wakes up, thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
Happy Thursday everyone! Do you have your Christmas cards mailed yet? No? Do you have them made yet? If not I’m going to show you how to make a batch of cute Christmas cards in less time than it would take you to drive to the store and buy a box-and for less money too!ย Here is a set of cards you can make in minutes using the Gingerbread House SVG set from Lindsay’s stamp stuff:
The first thing to do it to gather all of your supplies. I used my Cricut Machine and scal software to cut all of the parts-what a time saver! To make 8 cards (make 8 because there is no waste this way, you will only be tossing away slivers of paper) you will need: 4 sheets of 8.5″x11″ white cardstock, 1 sheet each 8.5″x11″ of red and green cardstock, 1 sheet of each 4″x7″ blue and kraft cardstock, 8-12″ long pieces of ribbon (the ribbon I used is on sale at AC Moore for 25 cents a roll this week!) and glue. Die cut all of the shapes. I resized the card pattern from the kit by checking the keep proportion box and setting the width at 8.25″, then I broke it apart and put 2 white card layers on one page, 4 of the peppermints on the next page, the Noel on the next page and 2 envelopes (from Envelope Bonanza kit) on the next page. To save you time I will send the scut2 file I made to anyone who purchased the kit and wants it. Just leave a comment saying you purchased the Gingerbread SVG kit and would like the scut 2 file, after I verify that you bought the kit I will email it to you. Here are my pieces cut and ready to glue together:
Notice the small peppermint shapes, I cut them from the leftover space on my red, green and white papers, I did not use them on this project but will save them for a cardmaking class I am doing with the Girl Scouts. Today's tip is to fill up a page when die cutting to save time next time and waste less!
Here is a look at the Gingerbread House SVG kit-the house can be used as a gift box or ornament because it has a bottom! The roof opens up to tuck treats inside ๐
At Christmastime I like to send my cards in brightly colored handmade envelopes, the trouble is you can’t write on them very well so today’s freebie is a sheet of Christmas mailing labels that you can print and stick on your cards. Print on plain paper and glue them on or print on sticker paper. Click the pic, then right-click on the larger image to download.
Click on the picture then right-click on the larger image and choose Save as. Thanks to Obsidian Dawn for use of brushes.
I challenged the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff Design team to come up with more quick and easy card ideas, you are sure to be inspired by their fabulous projects!
OK before you through rotten tomatoes at me it is NOT to early to start getting ready for Christmas. Besides, wouldn’t it be nice to have all of your shopping done by Thanksgiving so you could actually relax and enjoy the Christmas season? That is my goal anyway. In addition to the store-bought gifts I buy I like to make gifts too (no plastic canvas toilet paper cozies either) I’m talking about stuff that people will actually want and use. Check out the easy and pretty calendar I made with the new Homemade Holidays paper pack from Lindsay’s stamp Stuff:
I made 4 of these in the course of an hour assembly line style, the more you make at once the more time you will save. As I was making these I realized that they would make awesome gifts for teachers, coaches and scout leaders as well as the family members I made these for (No one I know in real life reads my blog so I am safe LOL!)
I used 6″x12″ wooden frames meant to hold panoramic photos for my calendars. I bought a ton of these about 10 years ago with grand plans that never happened so this year I am using them up. You can use whatever size frame you want or have. Look around your attic or cellar, a quick coat of paint will make an old frame new! If you don’t have any frames check the dollar store, you can buy small wood frames there, these can be any size you want. If your frame has glass just place it behind the calendar papers so at the end of the year the recipient can use the frame for something else.
Supplies:
Frame, Tear-Off Monthly Calendar (Mine is from SkyBluePink.com), Cardstock, Pattern Paper (I used the Homemade Holidays Paper pack from Lindsay’s Stamp stuff), glue (either hot glue or tacky glue), double-sided tape, embellishments: felt stickers {from the dollar bins at JoAnns}, photo corners, buttons & bakers twine, Optional: Sewing Machine
Gather your supplies, I printed out full sheets of Homemade Holidays paper, to do this just choose the borderless photo setting on your printer, letter size paper and scaling to 100%. Tip: To save money on printing ink try off-brand ink cartridges, I get a set of 6 carts for my HP Photosmart printer (HP02) for $10 through amazon.com and they work just as well as the HP brand ones that are $12 each! Also take your empty ink carts to Staples because you will get $2ย for everyone you recycle! It is like free ink!
Since I am using a 6"x12" frame I trimmed my cardstock to 6"x12" and my pattern paper to 5"x11", I used scraps to make the mat for the calendar. Paper punches can dress up corners and edges at no cost if you already have some (although I broke my Fiskars border punch during this project!)
Trim cardstock to fit the inside of your frame. Trim your pattern paper 1″ smaller and adhere it to the center of the cardstock. Use a sewing machine and cream thread to stitch around the edges. Make sure you do not put adhesive near the edge or it will gum up your needle. Adhere your photo over the pattern paper then cut pattern paper to mat your calender and adhere both of them down with double-sided tape. Glue on your embellishments. Place your creation in the frame and you are done! Easy peasy!
Small details really make a big impact: Machine stitching, threading twine through buttons and inking the edges of mats add homespun charm to any project.
If you hate to print in color I have created a Bold Black &White paper pack too and I have a new set of clip art with SVG cutting files called Up, Up & Away in the shop this week too!
And now the moment you have been waiting for….the freebie! A fun pack of 9 papers with an 1980s flair!
click the image to download, enjoy! Thanks to Inferlogic for use of the zebra pattern.
Now let’s see what the rest of the LSS design team is up to this week:
Since my son is having his birthday party this week I decided it was about time I scrapbooked the photos from last years birthday party. He had a bowling party last year so I used my new Bowling fun Clip Art & SVG set and Bowling Fun Papers which are 40% off today only along with everything else at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff {mygrafico shop only} and made this:
Want to print 12″ pattern paper but only have a standard 8.5″ wide printer? Here’s how: Use legal size paper (8.5″x14″) andย use the legal size setting in your printer. Click “center on paper” and set the scale to 100% and select landscape orientation if your paper will be used horizontally or portrait if the design will be used vertically. Then pint, think of all of the cool borders, titles and papers you can make. You can get a 12″x8.25″ printed piece of paper this way!
It's easy to give your die cuts dimention. Ink, layer and highlight! Thes svg die cutting files are included in the Bowling Fun set!
Now lets talk about die cuts. You can use your cricut machine and scal software to make cute paper pieced embellishments. To give them more dimension try inking the edges with brown chalk ink (I like chestnut roan by colorbox-the small cat’s eye size) before piecing then adding white highlights with a gel pen (Ranger Inksentials is the best!) You will have a custom multi layer look that is so cool! Here are some close ups of the bowling fun die cuts on the scrapbook page:
The word “Strike” was simply cut from a font (LD buttercream) I just typed it in scal, clicked weld and cut to get my letters to link together…that was all there is to it, easy peasy!
And here is a quick journaling tag I made with one of the clip art designs in the set, you get so much in this kit!
It’s about time for another sale don’t you think? Now until Saturday save 30% on everything in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff Shop at MyGrafico, I have lots of new goodies in store for you so pop over and stock up during my Spooktackular sale! Speaking of spooktackular have you ever been “Booed?” It is fun, you simply fill a bag of treats, sneak it onto a neighbors porch and run away, they do not know who left the treats, in the basket you ask the neighbor to fill a basket and place it on another neighbors porch and so forth and see how far it spreads. I used the door hanger cutting file and the cracker file from the Fun Favors set to make this Boo set:
I also made some little cards that say you’ve been booed with my Vintage Halloween Labels set, the recipient of the goodies can place one in her window so she won’t get booed again. How fun!
If you want some other favor packaging ideas check out my new SVG set called Pretty Packaging, you get 8 boxes you can use for any occasion:
Now for the freebie, If you want to boo your neighbors you need a little sign, right-click on the image to download.
Now let’s see what the Lindsay’s stamp Stuff DT have for us today. *Note: I am posting early because of the sale, the DT posts will be up by 10am ETย ๐
