Rosy Favor Bags Perfect for Spring Weddings or Tea Parties!

Hi friends! We got more snow today (luckily only a few inches) and I am so ready for spring! It may be a couple of months before I see any flowers in my garden but at least I can make them in my craftroom!

blogbags1

The technique for making these gathered roses is so easy, all you need is a needle and thread and some ribbon. Using narrower ribbon will give you a smaller tighter flower. I used beautiful sheer organza ribbon from our sponsor Papermart to make mine:

Supplies:

Directions:
1. Cut a 2′ piece of ribbon and make a long running stitch along one edge. Note, if using narrower ribbon you can reduce the length of the ribbon. The longer the ribbon the fuller the flower.
2. Pull both ends of the thread to gather the ribbon. It will spiral itself into a flower. Glue on to the bag.
3. Tie a bow from a 1″ wide green ribbon and glue in the flower center OR you may use a button or rhinestone if you wish.
4. Add a tag strung with bakers twine!

This quick project is beautiful enough for weddings but also suitable for birthdays, tea parties and luncheons. Wouldn’t your guests feel special to receive a gift in one of these bags!

If you haven’t been to Papermart lately you should go! They have some beautiful printed spring ribbons and brand new kraft tags in 50 count packs, instead of the 500-1000 packs the manila ones come in, perfect for crafters! thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Hey, Last Minute Sally! {quickest gift bags ever tutorial!}

It doesn’t seem to matter how much time I plan to get ready for a party, I always seem to be running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off two hours before it starts. Maybe it’s because I spent a day on the cakes (A WHOLE DAY folks!) or maybe I am too particular (nah, probably not) or maybe it’s because I leave the quick, mindless tasks for last. Well, this project is quick, mindless and easy! A great one to store away for when you need to make quick favors for a party or a classroom full of kids. They only take a minute (or less) to make when done assembly line style! Watch the video to see how:

OK, I know what you’re thinking “geez, Lindsay, you really knocked yourself out with this one” snore. But listen, you can easily dress up these bags but trimming the top edge of the bag with decorative edge scissors before assembling or adding ribbon handles. For Halloween you could make the bags from orange cardstock and draw on Jack-o-lantern features, or make a green bag with a Frankenstein face, or a pale purple faced vampire. I chose to use bold thick patterned scrapbook paper. This paper is gorgeous but too bold for cards and scrapbook pages but perfect for this plain bag. No, it’s not flashy, but it’s useful and it’s something we can realistically whip out an hour before a party and sometimes that’s just what we need. Boo! You’ve Been Ghosted!

I felt like a ninja tonight driving the getaway car as my kids dropped these cute goodies off at two houses in the neighborhood. We got ghosted last night (and I have a pretty good idea who did it) so I couldn’t resist designing a little set so I could do some “Ghosting” of my own. You too can spread Halloween cheer in your neighborhood with my new Ghosted SVG & Printable template set:

It only took a few minutes to die cut these boxes with the SVG templates in the kit but there are printable templates too you can print directly on your cardstock. After assembling the doorhanger boxes with hot glue I printed the sheet with the sign and ghosted poem on them and cut them out. You can roll up the cards and put them in the box or, since it was raining, put them all in a plastic shopping bag and hang that on your neighbor’s door. Then all you have to do is ring the bell and RUN! I dropped these off to two houses with children so I made a treat box for each kid. I also think this would be cute if you cut them out in miniature and hung it on a wine bottle for Christmas gift giving. So many possibilities!  My phone was ringing when I got home so I don’t think it is too much of a secret who the “ghosts” are but it sure was fun while the mystery lasted! As a special treat for you I have put this Ghosted set on sale for $2.50 for a limited time,  Happy Haunting!

I am entering this project in the following challenges: Stamp Insanity, Crafting for all Seasons, Divas by Design, Freshly Brewed, I Brake For Challenges, Inky Impressions, Stampavie and More, Whimsical Wednesdays, Paper Take Weekly, and Creative Stamp Friends.

Let’s Get this Party Started!

Happy Friday! I have been busy this week planning my sons birthday party, this year he wants to have an arcade party so I designed an Arcade Party Printable set that includes invitations, favor bags, cupcake wrappers and toppers, candy bar wrappers and thank you notes plus my 30% off Spooktacular Sale is going on so you can snag the entire set for $3.50! I also think this would be darling if you were having a video game sleepover party!

There is so much in this kit and the favor and quick, easy and inexpensive to make!

I used to be leery of printing bright graphics on my home printer due to the cost of ink but a few months a go I tried off-brand ink for my HP photosmart printer (I bought it through amazon.com marketplace from the seller vivamart-no affiliation though:) I got all 6 HP02 ink carts for $10 and free shipping, I’ve replaced many of the inks and as you can see from my photos the colors are bright and crisp with the cheap ink! It used to cost me $70 for that much ink at Staples, what a deal!

This adorable candy bar wrapper is 5.25"x5.25" and cover candy bars such as Nestle Crunch©, Nestle Aero©, Hershey© Milk Chocolate,Special Dark©, Hershey© with Almonds, Mr. Goodbar© No text is on the wrapper, you can type or write what you like or leave it blank 🙂

I love the candy bar wrapper! Jacks birthday is a week before Halloween so I’m not sure if parents will be cool with me handing these out to the guests but they are just so cute! I havent decided what to give as favors yet, maybe some of the small plastic pinball games from the party favor isle at Target, they will easily fit in either of the favor bags. The large one cuts from one sheet of 8.5″x11″ caredstock but the small one cuts 2 to a sheet and that is included in the Arcade Party Printable kit too. Here you can see the difference in size, the large one is3″wide, 1.5″ deep and 4.5″ high, the small one is 2.5″ wide, 1″ deep and 3.75″ high:

If you want custom text on yout printables add it before printing! I changed my text color to white so it stands out and uses less ink!

The invitation and Thank you notes are 5″x7″ with a full .25 bleed (that is handy if you want them professionally printed or if you are an invitation company-yes commercial use is available!) or you can print them at home as I did, the invitation I printed flat just by typing my text over the arcade game screen:

No text or wording is on the invitation, you can do that on your computer:)

But for the Thank you note I printed it as a folded card but you could easily use it as a flat card and type or write your thank-yous in the white space:

the words "thank You" ARE already printed on this card.

Th cupcake wrappers are 4 to a 8.5″x11 sheet so no paper is wasted and you get 20 toppers that can be punched out with a 1.5″ circle punch on another 8.5″x11″ sheet:

Is there anything cuter than cupcakes and candybars with custom wrappers? I don't think so.

Here is a look at the Arcade Party Printable set, remember it is 30% off along with everything else through tomorrow at Lindsay’s stamp stuff!

Remember 30% off everything until Saturday night at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff!
