U-R-Sweet!

It is getting to be that time again, Valentines day is just a couple of weeks away (can you believe it!) and I used the Vintage Christmas Labels to make a Valentine card! Remember, the labels in that kit can be used anytime of year! Check last Thursdays post for the add-on freebie for that kit! I like to print out a bunch of labels so I always have them on hand for a quick card or scrapbook page.

Here is a look at the kit I used on this card:

Now for something completely different, a flaming basketball SVG file, I had to make a sign for the basketball team this week and they wanted a flaming basketball so I used my Cricut and SCAL software to make the signs.ย  I did not take a picture of the finished sign so here is the screenshot ๐Ÿ™‚ Click the pic to download!

I cut these shapes from vynal and layered them, they looked awesome on a sign for the cheerleaders halftime floor cheer!

Now let’s see what the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff DT had made this week. This week we say goodby to out DT coordinater Cheryl Gorka, we have enjoyed her projects for over a year and will miss her dearly.

$1 retirement stamp sets and new Valentine goodies!

Hey! It’s time to make room for new product in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop at MyGrafico and I have a bunch of retiring sets that you can snag for $1, You will still be able to purchase the sets in my Shophandmade shop {at full price} but why not grab a deal now?

I have been in the mood for Valentine’s day this week {with a cold New England winter ahead it is something nice to look forward too plus I have ALWAYS loved Valentines day!} Here are some cards I made with the SVG die cutting files that are included in my new A Little Lovin’ kit from Lindsay’s stamp Stuff, I used my Cricut and SCAL software to die cut all the shapes.

I love how these “sweet” cards are not Valentine specific, heck you can use these long after Valentines day!

And of course a valentines card for hubby {let’s hope he isn’t reading my blog today ๐Ÿ™‚ LOL}

Tip: When making a batch of cards arrange all of your die cuts on one mat separated by color, then place different colored papers on the mat. That is how I cut these designs all in one pass in about 5 minutes!

Now here is a look at the A Little Lovin’ set, you get clip art in JPG and PNG format plus fully editable EPS and SVG art files and SVG cutting files that have been specifically optimized for die cutting.

Did you know that most of my clip art sets come with SVG cutting files at no extra charge, gotta love a little something extra:) Speaking of a little something extra here is a cute Valentine digital stamp freebie. To download click on the image, then right-click on the larger picture and choose “Save as” Easy peasy (and no waiting for 4shared-I hate that!)

Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

A gift in a bottle and 25% off!

Looking for a fun way to package a gift? How about in aย  bottle? Iย  saw a neat idea from Scrapalette over on the Cricut message board and I had to give it a try! But before I show you how I want to let you know that EVERYTHING in my shop is 25% off through Saturday!

OK, now that’s out-of-the-way on to the fun! I made a “Movie Night in a Bottle” using the 2 liter soda bottle label from the Movie PArty Printable kit:

I put bags of microwave popcorn, movie size candy and fun size candy in the bottle too. I will give this along with some wrapped up DVDs as a Christmas gift. Wanna know how I got everything in that bottle? Take a look…

Neat huh? Here are some tips on the soda bottle project:

  1. Rinse out the bottle before you cut, then after you cut the hole you can reach through it and dry the inside of the bottle with a paper towel.
  2. Put in the larger items first then fill in with smaller. You can always drop in really small items or shredded colored paper through the neck of the bottle to fill the top if needed.
  3. Type info in the printable label before you print for a polished professional look!
  4. Look in your recycling bin, you may find other cool bottles (like the square juice bottles) that will hold even more!

Here is a look at the Movie Party kit I used:

And here is your freebie, it is basic so you can use it anytime!

Christmas in September and a Fond Farewell

It seems we crafters start to think about Christmas as soon as the leaves start to fall off the trees. Maybe because we want to be sure to have time to make our hand-made cards and gifts before the holiday crunch arrives. This week I played with the poinsettia stamp from the brand new Natures Christmas set:

Digital Stamps: Lindsay's stamp stuff (Nature's Christmas SET), Rubber stamps: inkadinkado (text), Papers: Oldies from a provocraft stack, Templates: Lindsay's stamp stuff (Envelope Bonanza, Fun Fair) other: Copic Markers, Ribbon

I printed the poinsettia twice on cream cardstock (Staple brand, no kidding!) and on one layer I carefully colored the green leaves and trimmed out the four petals and center. I colored the remaining petals cardinal red. On the other copy I carefully colored the red petals with Cardinal, lipstick and coral. I Cut out the red petals and threw the leaves away. on the small cut out petals and center from the first layer I colored them a bit lighter red (more coral in that layer) and the center was yellow. To assemble the flower I first hot glued the bottom layer with the hole in it to my card. Then I glued down the middle layer rotating it so it gave me the look of more petals then finally I glued in the center. I curled and fluffed the petals a bit for dimension.

Of course I made a homemade envelope with the Envelope Bonanza kit, I like to make the envelope first so I can use the scraps as accents on my card and in this case the box that I cut with my Fun Fair SVG set. Both templates were cut with my Cricut and SCAL software. Very little went to waste in this project!

This card qualifies for the following challenges:ย  Aimees Challenges (Christmas Wishes), Color Throwdown, Incy wincy& OSSAT (anything Goes), Scrappekammeret (2 papers and a text stamp), Sentimental Sundays (dimension), Totally gorjuss (Christmas), Humble Pie (shaped card), YNS Challenges (Handmade flowers),ย  Christmas Stamping All Year Long,ย  Christmas Blog Challenge (red, holly green color) and the sketch from 2sketches4you.

Here is a look at the new Natures Christmas set and the other sets I used in this project:

Now for your freebie, It is a vintage Santa holding a parchment, you can write, type or stamp a sentiment on it, it would make a cute tag too, right-click on the pic and choose “Save As” to download.

This week we bid farewell to two of your very talented DT members Lisa Jurecek and Melissa Craig. The have both wowed us every week with their creations and they will be missed, but I wish them the best of luck! Now let’s see what the LSS DT has been working on this week:

Dingbats for Dummies!

Hello, my name is Lindsay and I’m a font-a-holic. I can’t resist funky fonts and adorable dingbats. It seems my habit has been getting out of hand as I can’t even remember all of the dingbats I have. It all started when I got Sure Cuts a Lot (SCAL) software more than 2 years ago. With SCAL I can cut my fonts and dingbats with my cricut machine and it is $15 off right now! I found some adorable doodlebats at Lettering Delights and began my awesome dingbat collection. All of the Lettering Delights products including all of the doodlebats and dingbats are on sale for a dollar right now so you can build your collection too! I devised a way to keep track of my collection of dingbats and I’ll show you how but first here is a 2 page layout of my niece’s wedding, my daughters were the flower girls:

Digital stamp: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Rubber Stamps: Inkadinkado, Rebecca Sower, Die cuts: Cuttlebug and Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. Paper: DCWV, Ribbon: SewTrue

See the frame around the group shot, that is a from a doodlebat font (DB Frilly Frames) now before I came up with my binder system to organize my dingbats I would have to hunt and peck through several dingbat fonts until I found a frame that would work but now I can just look through my binder and see at a glance what I have. Here is an example of my binder pages:

a dollar tree binder holds printed sheets of my dingbats/doodlebats.
being able to see all of the images in a dingbat is very helpful (and time-saving) when designing a project.

The Lettering delights doodlebats come with a printable reference sheet (right side) if you download the zip file but I usually just downloaded the font file only so I used an online dingbat character map to print a contact sheet (left side).

The online character map could not read all of the fonts so for the ones that It could not work with I simply typed put all of the characters of the font (a,b,c,d,e,f,g) and printed it out for my reference. I saved the file so I can just highlight it and change the font if I come across another dingbat I want to print. (see right side of the photo below)

Another great thing about this is I can take the binder to my craftroom where my cricut and laptop lives for a die cutting reference and take it back to my desktop when I want to work on a printable craft!

Here are close-ups of the wedding pages, I used my crinkle seam binding and some die cuts including my new ticket svg die cuts from the Fun Fair SVG set, those tickets are versatile! The dress digital stamp is a freebie you can snag here.

This project qualifies for the following challenges: Alotta Rubberstamps (fairytale), OTWC #24 (photo inspiration), Oldie but a Goodie (new beginnings theme-the small ticket stamps are a year old and the large ticket stamps-dominoes really are pushing 7 years old!), Stampin For the Weekend (shabby/vintage), Cute Daisy May and Really Reasonable Ribbon(flowers), Wild Orchid (Pearls & Pins) and the sketch from Sweet Peach Crop Shop.

Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Fun-Fair!

Howdy! I love this time of year, the warm days, crisp nights and then weekend full of fun at the local county fairs, late summer at it’s best! I didn’t bring my camera to the fair this year because I took over a hundred photos last year and decided it was high time I scrapbooked them:

I used my new Fun Fair SVG set to cut the tickets (both single and the border strip) with my Cricut and SCAL software (SCAL on sale for $59.95 for a short time!)and my On the Line digital stamps to make the banner.

Here is a close up of the first page, I laid out my photos with shape collage software and added ribbons to the flowers on the bottom of the page. Stamps and Die cuts are from Lindsay's stamp Stuff.

Here is a tip: I used digital paper and printed the paper on the inside triangle of the banner only. I layered my stamp over digital pattern paper from Lettering Delights (all their pattern paper packs are on sale for $1 so stock up now!) then used the “magic wand” tool to remove the inside of the banner so I could see the paper, then I clicked around the banner, an inverted my selection, flattened the layers and hit ctrl+x to cut the paper pieced banner and pasted it as many times as I wanted in a new document. I only printed the paper I needed, no wasted ink or paper and it is easier than trying to print on pattern paper scraps AND I can make it match my layout!

Here is the second page, love to cram in a lot of photos!

This page qualifies for the following challenges: By the Cute and Girly (indian summer), The Craft Garden (Bunting/Banner),ย  Daisy Doodles , ginger Loft (anything goes), Flourishes (tickets), Lexis Challenge (flower Power), Really Reasonable Ribbon (flowers) andย  Tuesday Throwdown (celebrate fall).

Here is a peek at the sets I used:
