LSS Weekly Wrap Up {a wee bit late!}

Happy Sunday folks! Boy this weekend is flying by! I spent Friday at the pool swimming with the kids and yesterday on roller skates with my girls (oye! my poor shoulders are killing me from dragging kids around the skating rink!) and today I am off to do some art with the local cub scouts. So this morning I am taking a little break to blog the fun creations the Lindsay’s stamp Stuff DT has whipped up this week:

Kick it!

I think soccer must me the most popular kids sport out there. In my neck of the woods it is a 3 season game: Spring soccer, fall soccer and soccer camp in the summer and for all of the die-hard soccer players there are indoor soccer fields. Wow, that is a lot of soccer! I bet a lot of kids would love a soccer themed birthday party, how fun would it be to let a gaggle of kids loose in the backyard with a bunch of balls to, well, have a ball! With that in mind I designed a new soccer party kit with SVG cutting files and printables to create the soccer party of their dreams! Here is a look at some of the printables:

My favorite is the cupcake wrapper, how fun!

A fun and easy (not to mention inexpensive) way to decorate for a soccer party would be to get a piece of green outdoor carpet cut to fit your table (a picnic table outside would be perfect) and put all of the food and party stuff on top. It would look like a mini soccer field! After the party you can simply hose off the table, carpet and all. Now that’s my kind of clean up 😀

The printable invites come in two parts so you can print both the inside and outside for a slick look and to save time!

You get 11 printable 8.5″x11″ sheets and 6 SVG cutting files all for $5. Here is a look at the soccer party kit:

Also today I wanted to share this weeks Dollar Deals with you, they will be on sale until next Wednesday and then they go back to full price, get them quick while there a buck!

LSS Weekly Wrap Up!

Howdy! Here are a few projects done this week by Lindsay’s stamp Stuff designers:

First up is Diane and her card featuring the Uptown Houndstooth set:

And check out Karin’s card using the Sweet Stuff stamp set:

Our very own seamstress Rhonda made this lovely card with the Sewing Stuff stamps:

And Jennifer with a patriotic project using the patriotic collection:Check out Margie’s scrapbook page on her blog using the Steampunk Stamp set:

And last but not least is a second card from Diane using the Cute Easter set:

Great inspiration eh? You can find details on making these products on the designer’s blogs and all of the products at Lindsay’s stamp stuff. Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Button, button…who’s got the button?

Well, today that would be you (check out the end of this post for a cute vintage button digistamp freebie!) I used said freebie on my project today too as well as stamps from the Sew Pretty set from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff:

Every designer has her favorites and this set is one of mine, you get 8 sewing themed stamps in png and jpg format but what I really love about this set is how easy it is to layer them to create unique “still lifes” or montages that you can color as I did here. I simply layered the png stamps and erased bits here and there (in paint shop pro but photoshop or gimp will work just as well) until it looked right. Tip: When you create a cool layered layout save it so you can print it again!

I used my new favorite markers to color this and if you have not tried Tria markers by Letraset you are in for a BIG treat (my poor copics might be gathering some dust now LOL!) I really like it because I can use them with my ProMarkers (the ink is the same, the big difference is that Tria has replaceable brush, chisel and fie tip nibs and are refillable) and they blend beautifully even though I have a small collection. BTW you are going to want to keep your eyes glued to this blog because I will have a FABULOUS giveaway in a few days that will totally color your world (hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink 🙂 ) You won’t want to miss that COLORFUL giveaway!

OK now on with the show. I used the Sew pretty set on my card, this set coordinates with the Sewing Stuff single and the Posh and Trendy sets very nicely:

And here is your freebie-now grab it while you can because I’ve got some sketching brewing in my noggin that coordinate well with this and it’s freebie status might be in jeopardy if I end up tossing it in with a fab new set…as in get it while you can, don’t say I didn’t warn you 🙂

To download click on the picture, then right click on the larger picture and choose "save as" from the drop down menu. Enjoy!

Are you ready for this weeks Dollar Deals? Remember these sets are on sale for $1 but only til next Wednesday so don’t wait!

Homemade Embellies for Pennies!

Phew, what a week! It has been so hectic around my house lately, I’m glad to finally have a chance to slow down and just breathe. My favorite way to unwind is to play in my craftroom. While I was in the dentist chair Monday I had an idea: I wonder if I could make some cool embellishments in my clay molds with hot glue…ya know what? I sure can!

I used some digital stamps from the Love Grows and Posh ‘n Trendy sets as focal points on my card. the pretty double-sided paper is from GSD Studios, I couldn’t pick which side to use so I cut the paper a little longer than I needed, punched the edge and folded it back on itself to make a pocket and stitched it with my sewing machine, I great way to fully use your double-sided paper {It’s just too pretty to hide the backside!} I used Copic markers as my coloring medium.

Tip: If your papers and embellishments don’t quite match try tinting them with the markers you colored your stamps with as I did here. I colored the red {punched} bird with markers after seeing the paper did not show up too well and the sentiment that looked to stark when it was white. I also used them to color my hot glue charms.

To make some nifty hot glue embellishments you will need:

Make sure you use silicone molds because the glue will stick to ceramic or plaster and it will melt plastic molds (Don’t ask me how I know.) 🙂

  1. All you need to do is lay the mold on a flat surface and squeeze hot glue into the molds. Let cool completely, the large the mold the longer it will take. The letter tiles took a minute but the Celtic knot took more like 5 minutes to cool.
  2. There are a few ways to color your embellies, you can use alcohol ink, or alcohol ink markers. My Copics worked great and they matched my card perfectly! After I colored them I drybrushed a little acrylic paint over it to bring out the detail. You could just paint it with 2 coats of acrylic paint if you want a solid opaque color too.
  3.

    Variations on a technique:
  • Try writing or drawing with your hot glue gun on a silicone mat to make a custom title or embellishment for you next scrapbook page.
  • Make fake “wax” seals by squirting out a gob of glue on a silicone mat and pressing a rubber stamp in it. Leave the stamp in the glue until it is cool then peel off the glue. Be sure to ink up the stamp with clear ink or glycerin first so the glue does not stick. This looks amazing!

I love all that you can do with hot glue! With Valentines day on Monday you might be scrambling around for ideas for cards and classroom favors. Here is a look at the sets I used today and some other sets you can use to make quick and easy valentine projects:

Vintage Lovin’, a Sale and a Freebie!

Hello folks! Before I tell you about my project today I want to let you know EVERYTHING in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop is 30% off through this weekend! Woohoo! Now here is a fun little easel card and envelope I made using Love Grows, On The Line and Posh ‘n Trendy digital stamps from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff:

Here is a close peek at the bottom of the card:

Easel cards are fun, and so simple to make. For mine I took a 6″x12″ cardstock and scored it a 6″ and 9″, fold valley style at 6″and 9″ and you will see how it make a triangle shape if you look from the side. Now create a 6″x6″ panel of crafty goodness and attach it to the last 3″ that is folded over. In this photo I opened it up and you can see how it is attached, remember you are only adhering the bottom half of the 6×6 panel to the 3″x6″ fold over piece:

When you fold it back up the card stands proudly on display!

And look, when it is time to mail it folds neatly into a square! Cool huh?

Here is a look at the products I used on this card {Remember they are 30% off along with everything else at LSS right now!}
