New Year,New Designer & New Products!

Happy Monday!!! For all of you stay-at-home moms out there putting your kids on the bus after Christmas break it’s a really happy Monday LOL! There is some exciting stuff happening in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff Shop; first of all we have a new designer joining the team & a customer challenge (details below) and we are now offering SVG files to cut with your Cricut Machines (I know a lot of crafters found a Cricut under their tree this year!) SVG files can be cut with a Cricut die cutter and SCAL software, it is very easy:)

*New coupon code to save 10% on SCAL software: 9388463 offer expires on 1/18/2010!

Here is a project with my latest SVG set :

Stamps &SVG template: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Paper: K&Co

I used the SVG Card Folio cutting file to make the box, the printable version of this template can be found in the Recipe Digital stamp set. I used Stamps from All Around Phrases, Sweet Stuff and Love Grows Here digital stamp sets.

I made the Folio large to hold 5″x7″ cards and envelopes. To do this I used a piece of Strathmore Art Paper (12×18″) on a large mat in my cricut Expression and cut it at 15″ wide. make sure the keep proportion box is checked if you want the same shape box, or keep it unchecked if you want a narrower or wider box…I love the options of SVG files and SCAL software! Here is the open box, this would be great for selling card sets in craft shows I think!

See how nicely they fit inside, the box is 3/4" wide at this size, plenty of room for 6 embellished cards:)

Another cool idea would be to make a tiny box to hold Business cards or ATCs, I even heard that calling cards are making a comeback! Oh, how about little gift card boxes, think of all the options! The Recipe Card and Folio SVG set comes with 4 tabbed recipe cards too so you can also make a recipe box, here is a look at the set:

you get 5 svg files for $3!

Here is another brand new Template in the Lindsay’s stamp Stuff Shop, this Mailbox comes in SVG, Printable and a png clipping mask all for $3:

This is fun and perfect for Valentines day!

Homemade Card Candy!

I needed some “play time” in my craft room and decided to use up some leftover die cuts and some stamps to make some card candy:

Card Candy: Pretty decorations for your cards and crafts!

I love all of the new layered stickers on the market now by companies like K&Co and Making memories so I decided to make some of my own using labels and shapes I cut with my Cricut and SCAL software.

The results from my crafty playtime πŸ˜‰

All you need to do is layer punched, stamped and die cut shapes. Add bits of ribbon (this is a great way to use up leftovers) and embellishments and you are done. It is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours too!

I put a few dabs of Aleens tack it over and over on the back of the “candy” and let it dry to make it into a sticker. I covered a piece of cardboard with waxed paper (as shown on photo) to display and store my new handmade embellishments until I am ready to use them on a scrapbook page, card or tag.Β  Have fun making some custom card candy to use on your next creation and til next time happy crafting!

Die Cuts: Creative Cuts and More

All of the die cuts are from Creative Cuts and More and all of my embellishments came from the Dollar Tree (or in the case of the fir branches my backyard LOL). It is so fun and easy to make decorations with die cuts, not to mention affordable! I used the sleigh box, the large matchbox and this accordion card insert all available from CC&M.

tablescapesleigh

For the sleigh I embossed the sleigh using a stylus and a fiskars texture plate because the die cut was to big to go though a Cuttlebug, gotta love the old-school tools! I rubbed two styrofoam balls together to make the snow that is one the sleigh runners (faux flower soft technique πŸ˜‰ and the scalloped ribbon is plain velvet wrapping ribbon I cut with scallop edge scissors, cheap and easy!

tablescapematchbox

The matchbox was so cue as is but I dry embossed it, inked it, heat embossed it, wrapped it with ribbon and added a stamped monogram.

The luminary is just 3 die cut window card insides hooked together. I punched the edges to give it a bit of flair, inked the edges and dusted it with silver tinsel embossing powder.

tablesapeluminary

wouldn’t you even say it glows… πŸ˜‰

tablescape_luminarydark

Remember that paper is flammable, I put a tea light in a canning jar to be safe inside the luminary and the music paper was an online freebie you can get from Linda’s blog, I printed it on vellum and trimmed it with an oval cutter.

Next hop over to Pam Smerkers blog to see her holiday inspiration, till next time happy crafting!

Caardvarks Holiday Hop: Pretty Packaging!

Die cuts: Creative Cuts and More, Stamps: see credits below

I used the mug card, crayon box and short puff box for these and there are so many uses for them. they will each hold a gift card beautifully but Imagine the acetate puff box filled with chocolate covered cranberries, the mug filled with hot cocoa packets and candy canes and the crayon box filled with a mini note pad and crayons to entertain the youngins’ during a trip to grandmas! Another thing I love is how these sturdy boxes can be reused. Fill them with sweet treats for a friend then they can eat the sweets and tuck a gift card in and pass it on…I’m dreaming of a green Christmas πŸ˜‰

Cocoa Packet Holder: Stamps: Stampin Up (stamp wheels), Inque Boutique/Darice: Label

For the cocoa packet holder I assembled the card with tape then used a stamp wheel to “pattern” my card base. I used chalk to color the images then I stamped the label on cream and adhered it over a ribbon with foam tape and stuck in a decorative spray.

For the crayon box I stamped a flourish and heat embossed it in white, tied on a ribbon and added the label, quick and easy!

Short puff box: CC&M

This was the easiest of all, assemble the box with double stick tape, wrap with a strip of paper and tie on a bow and glue on some dew drops!

Next stop on the hop is the wonderful Pam Smerker, be sure to check out her lovely work. Tomorrow is the final day of the holiday Blog hop and I do hop you will join us again, til then happy crafting!

Caardvarks Holiday Blog Hop!

Wow, I’m thrilled to be a part of the Caardvarks Holiday Blog Hop, if you are arriving from Lila’s blog you are in the right place! If you just stumbled upon the hop here be sure to start at the Caardvarks blog so you can see all of the fabulous cards from their design team and have a chance to win some goodies from Creative Cuts and More and get an exclusive coupon for CC&M too! This is a 3-Day Hop. Day one is cards. I hand make 70 Christmas cards every year (it’s my one big Christmas thing;) and I enjoy it immensely but I also am realistic, when you make that many they need to be cute, quick and easy, this card is all three:

caardvarksbloghopcard
Die Cuts: Creative Cuts and More, Stamps: House Mouse, Rubber Stampede, MSE!

I used the 5 1/4″ square filigree window card in smooth red cardstock and heat embossed snowflakes in white (for some odd reason this red cardstock turns dark when you heat it but goes back to normal when it cools) randomly over the card. I stamped the Mistletoe Mice on white cardstock with Versafine ink and watercolored it. I stamped Happy Holidays on a kraft scrap and adhered to the card over a length of ribbon. Total time 20 minutes but if you make this card assembly line style it is even quicker;) And you save $$ when you but 10 or more of a die cut from Creative Cuts and More, perfect for mass producing x-mas cards! Using die cuts as embellishments is great too because they are flat and need no extra postage and are as little as 10 cents a pop! And it is nice not to have to cut them yourself πŸ˜‰

Next stop on the hop is Pam Smerker, I can’t wait to see what she has cooked up for us…speaking of cooking you won’t want to miss the two great new recipe kits that Creative Cuts and More will be debuting next week (November 9th and 10th) during their Mega Recipe Blog hop!Β  They will be perfect for holiday gifts. You will even have a chance to win them;) That’s all for today, tomorrow I will have some pretty holiday packaging to share with you, till then Happy Crafting!

A “Clearly Cool” Blog Hop with Creative Cuts and More!

Don’t you just love the monthly bl0g hops with Creative Cuts and More? I love to see what the rest of the Design Team Divas have in store, and it’s fun to win prizes along the way! If you have jumped into the blog hop here be sure to start at the beginning by visiting the Die Cut Diva blog. This month’s theme is acetate (clear plastic), it is one of the trendiest products around and you can get nearly all of the die-cuts that are available at CC&M cut with this stuff (I’m talking hundreds folks!) Here is what I made with die cut acetate:

Die cuts: Creative Cuts and More, Ink: Ranger, Stamp: Inkadinkado, font: DB boho Frames (lettering delights/scrapnfont), jewels: Doodlebug

We are not talking flimsy transparencies here, Creative Cuts and More offers various thicknesses of acetate such as a medium thickness perfect for these Purse bags:

Cute acetate bags from Creative cuts and more, they come clear, I colored these with Alcohol ink ;)

Here is a closer look:

To color the bags I used Ranger Alcohol ink (this stuff should be a staple in every craft room!) to dab color to the inside of the acetate bags before assembling. Tip: Instead of buying an ink applicator and felts I made my own by taking a small wooden block (you can get a pack of small wooden child’s alphabet blocks from the dollar store or snag one from your kids toy box πŸ˜‰ and then I glued Velcro (the rough hook side) to the 4 flat sides of the block.Β  I bought white felt at the craft sore when it was 10/$1 and cut it into 1″Β  squares and they will stick to the Velcro block and you can have 4 colors going at once and your fingers stay clean holding onto the remaining 2 sides!

Hook 3 stars together to make a cute wall hanging!
Hook 3 stars together to make a cute wall hanging!

I also used alcohol ink on the wall hanging. I used 2 sizes of star die cuts and punched holes with my crop-a-Dial before adding eyelets and fiber to hook them together. Tip: Use the larger sewing eyelets that come in two parts and the back side of the project was look just as good as the front. They are called 1/8″ eyelets but they are larger than the scrapbook ones, they fit the hole made with the larger punch on the Crop a dial perfectly.

I printed the frame on an inkjet transparency, you can use regular dye based markers and ink on them, for regulare acetate and trancepariencies try solvent inks and markers!
I printed the frame on an ink-jet transparency, you can use regular dye based markers and ink on them, for regular acetate and transparencies try solvent inks and markers!

The pretty clear transparency frames featured on these projects I made by printing on an ink-jet transparency right on my home printer. I used the font DB boho frames and DB Boho Banners. The Believe stamp is by inkadinkado and I stamped with regular dye based ink (stampin up) on the transparency. Tip: If you want to stamp on regular acetate or a regular transparency use Solvent ink such as Staz-On or plain old acrylic paint. I used my famous “hot glue dew drops” (another great used for alcohol ink!) to embellish these pieces as well as some Doodlebug adhesive jewels. Ready to shop? Here are a couple more favors I made, this time with a baby shower in mind (little sis is expecting a boy!) I made these with the 11 1/2″ mini scallop circle die out of double-mates cardstock, I love this stuff because you get two colors for the price of one…well it may be a coupleΒ  of cents more LOL! The bigger cones were made with half of a scalloped sheet and the standard cones were made with a 1/4 sheet. Don’t be afraid to try making these, even for a big shower because they only take minutes to make. Be sure to try Killer Red Tacky Tape when you assemble these, I even used them to hold on my lace and ribbon! No more burned fingers from the hot glue gun, YAY!

Speaking of burnt fingers I think my new bead kiln is ready for another firing! Till next time happy crafting!

Caardvarks!!!

I am a happy girl because one of my projects is featured today over at the Caardvarks blog! I’ve played along with their fabulous challenges for some time now and this week I get to be a guest designer! Yay! The theme is bridal and baby showers so I made this little bridal shower set using dies for Creative Cuts and More:

Die Cuts: Creative Cuts and More, Stamps: Magents, Rubber Stampese, PSX, PP: DCWV
Die Cuts: Creative Cuts and More, Stamps: Magents, Rubber Stampede, PSX, PP: DCWV

Wanna know something funny? When I was putting together the place card holder I noticed there was a extra piece…know why? Because it was supposed to be a matchbox like this:

An easy to assemble XL matchbox will hold a generous amout of mins or candy YUM!
An easy to assemble XL matchbox will hold a generous amount of mitns or candy YUM!

One great die, two cool uses! The does I used were the cupcake box and the large matchbox both cut from metallic cardstock. There is an insert in the cupcake box so your cupcake doesn’t go sliding all around, it is about 4″ square when it is assembled (try the killer red tacky tape) so you can leave out the insert and have a lovely box for an different gift as well and it is super sturdy too!

Check out the cute window on top of this box!

Thanks for stopping by, make sure you visit the caardvarks blog for some awesome eye-candy and check out their other DT members too! Til next time happy crafting!

It’s Blog Hop Time!!!

I am so excited to be a part of another Creative Cuts and More blog hop! They are releasing some brand new die cut card kits with aΒ  birthday theme and they are too cute for words! They were put together by our own talented designer Pam Smerker and you can see several projects from the kits throughout the blog hop today. Also for taking part in today’s blog hop I have a coupon code for you to save 15% on your order at Creative Cuts and More, the code is: birthdaydt0915Β Β  Since we have a birthday theme here I made a layout to share with you using my favorite CC&M die cut:Β  11 1/2″ mini scallop circle.

Paper/Dies: Creative Cuts and More
Paper/Dies: Creative Cuts and More

I made a birthday card to go with it using the square scallop filligre frame:

Card: Creative Cuts and More, Digital Stamp: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Rubber Stamps: Inkadinkado, Autumn Leaves, Brads, Ribbon,: Dollar Tree
Card: Creative Cuts and More, Digital Stamp: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Rubber Stamps: Inkadinkado, Autumn Leaves, Brads, Ribbon,: Dollar Tree

I stamped swirls on the inside on the card and heat embossed them in with white EP, the cake is a digital stamp that I colored with Bic Mark-its then glazed with Elmer’s 3-d and glitter paint, the fun part is that the paint is scented so it really smells like a cupcake! Here is what the inside of the card looks like, I rubbed some metallic rub ons over the embossed areas so there is a bit of shimmer there too {it doesn’t show in the photo too well but trust me it simmers and smells like a cupcake!}

Cake Stamp: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Swirl stamps: Autumn Leaves, "Happy Birthday" Stampin up, Paint Elmers, Markers: Bic, Metallic rub-on wax: Craf-T Products
