LSS weekly wrap up and a Mother’s day sale!

I hope you are all having a happy mother’s day! If you still need to make a card for mom (or treat yourself to some new crafty goodness) hop over to Lindsay’s stamp Stuff where everything is 40% off today only!

Here are 3 cards I made with the new Build-a-Blossom SVG set. I am going to package them up with matching envelopes and put them in the gift basket for my mom, you can never have too many ready-made cards and these were such fun to make.  Cutting all the pieces were a breeze using my Cricut machine and SCAL software. You could even leave them blank and stamp a sentiment in when you need a card.

The DT has some great work for you this week.  We say goodbye to long time DT member Margie (sniff, sniff, we will miss you girl!) but we are joined again by Cassandra so that is a real treat! Let’s kick off the wrap up with Cassandra’s cute card using the doodle flowers digistamp set:

Next up is Rhonda’s beautiful watercolor card using the Fancy Flower digistamp set:

Karin made this sweet card for me, my cat of 15 years (but he was 18) passed away last week and I was so upset, she sent me this lovely card using the kitty image from the set Stick Dog & Cat.  This set is actually free and it’s and add-on set to the People Mix and Match set available in the  shop.

Micki made this clean and simple card using Elegant & Shabby School Scrapbook and Card Papers set and School Rules Digi Set:

Of Mermaids and Motherhood…

I thought this story would be appropriate today being both International Scrapbook day and the day before mother’s day. I am sure all moms can relate. 2 weeks ago the school sent home a notice saying that there would be a “dress up as your favorite book character” day at school and the kids could come to school dressed up as the book character they wish.  One of my daughters wanted to be the little mermaid and was sure she knew where her mermaid costume was. The night before however she could not find it and went to bed in tears. So I racked my brain trying to come up with something for her to wear (feeling a bit guilty because I think I might have tossed her ratty old mermaid costume weeks ago) and came up with the git-up in the scrapbook page below:

So if you find yourself in need of a mermaid costume at the last-minute here is how you can make one. Cut two life-size fins from canvas leaving tabs at the hips for tieing, hem the edges with hot glue and spray with green ink or spray paint. Stray with adhesive and sprinkle liberally with glitter and spray another coat of adhesive for good measure. Tie the fin on your chile and hope for the best LOL!

I happened to be going to a crop yesterday so minutes after snapping the photos and sending my children off to school I printed these photos as well as copies of the books their characters came from (gotta love the internet) and of to the crop I went. If you are cropping with friends today have a great time! Happy mothers day to all you moms tomorrow and til next time happy crafting!

LSS is 2! {40% off} and easy bow tutorail!

Well, wasn’t that a mouthful? It is hard to believe that my little digistamp company is two years old this month! When I started this venture no one even knew what a digistamp was and now there are hundreds of digital stamp companies out there, what a revolution! I told myself back then that I would stick it out 6 months and see if there was any interest and 2 years later the answer is a resounding “YES!”  To thank all of you, my awesome customers and blog friends I want to give you 40% off everything at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff (mygrafico shop only) now through Saturday. Here is my latest product, a high heel shoe template in SVG and printable JPG format:

This is really quick to make, the template is in 4 parts and I cut the pair out of double-sided paper from MAMBI using my Cricut machine and SCAL software (the file has been tested and works in MTC and Fairy Cut too!). For the fluffy trim I simply crocheted a chain stitch out of fun-fur and hot glued on.

The little bow was so quick (like 5 seconds) and easy that I made a little video (2 minutes) to show you how. It is a great way to use up those little scraps of ribbon because you only need a 5″ length to make this!

This project qualifies for the following challenges: Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge, Partytime Tuesdays, Make it Monday, and Wee memories

Don’t forget the 40% off anniversary sale at LSS going on through Saturday! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Last-minute Easter favors {quick & easy!}

Howdy! I took a few minutes this afternoon to whip up these cute Easter favors using {surprise} the Halloween favors SVG kit from Lindasy’s Stamp Stuff-BTW everything is 25% off through Sunday:

This took minutes and I cut both boxes from the same sheet of 12″x12″ double-sided paper (Heidi grace) using my Cricut machine and SCAL software. Since I squeezed both of them on one sheet I needed to open the holes a bit on the double test tube holder but that was easy 🙂 The test tubes are filled with Whoppers malted milk eggs!

I used my homemade bakes twine to tie on these cute little tags I stamped with a cheap clear stamp I picked up at the craft store a couple of years ago-TIP: If your clear stamp does not stamp well rub a fine sanding block or emery board over it a few times so it can grab the ink. Works great on the cheap clear stamps!

This sentiment on the front was also from one of those Studio G clear sets, the first time I stamped it was awful but a swipe across my sanding block did the trick! I colored it with Prismacolor pencils.

This project qualifies for the following challenges: Craft Your Days Away , Crafty Emma, ECP Challenges, Just Us Girls, Shannon’s Sentiments  , Stamp, Scrap and Doodle, Sweet Stampin, Fairy Knoll, Floweret , 4 Crafty Chicks, Paper Romance, Rainbow Lady’s, Sassy Studio Designs, Amber’s Crafts and Stuff, Penny’s Paper-Crafty, and Sisterhood of Crafters

Thanks for stopping by and I want to wish you a happy Easter and safe travels if you are visiting family tomorrow 🙂 Don’t forget 25% off everthing at Lindasy’s through Sunday Midnight! Til next time happy crafting!

I’m hoping for another warm sunny summer again this year and while I was on this train of thought I came up with the new Summer Fun SVG & Printable template set!

Quick Cricut Crafts {for kids!}

Try saying that 3 times fast LOL! Well, it is finally feeling like Spring around here and that means the kids want to be on their bikes everyday. The bikes they love, the helmets….not so much. So in an effort to make my daughters a little more thrilled with them I let them decorate their own:

This was so easy 😛 and they did most of the work themselves. I let them use my gypsy (it’s handheld and has a screen so of course they use it better than I do) and they picked the designs they wanted.  Then I cut the shapes from self adhesive vinyl. You can purchase colored vinyl online but I use scraps from a local sign and banner shop. They give me the scraps that are too small to put in their machines {yay free!} and these smaller sizes are perfect for my cricut. I have purchased vinyl (the chalkboard vinyl and glow in the dark is so cool!) from oh my crafts and EAD designs and their brands are really nice too.  Anyway if you are cutting vinyl on your cricut you need to set the depth at 2 or 3 and pressure at low (or 2) because you want to cut through the vinyl but not the backing paper. After it is cut pull of the waste (area around the decals) then you can let the kids stick their decals where they like. On the swirly flourish I first pressed contact paper on the decal while it was on the backer sheet and picked it up then with it still on the contact paper I pressed it on the helmet making sure it adhered in the grooves. Tat decal was the only ones the kids couldn’t peel and stick because it would have ripped. Instead of contact paper you can use transfer tape that comes with craft-store purchased vinyl. You can decorate all kinds of stuff with vinyl like rubber boots, sports equipment, toys, you name it plus it is waterproof! To remove it simply heat it with a hair dryer and peel it off.

Another fun craft you can do with the kids and your cricut is to die cut paper piecing patterns and let them make cards for birthdays. Here I used the Once Upon a Princess cart (I caved when it went on sale for $17 at oh my crafts) and die cut the castle and frog out of pretty colors to match (close enough) the wrapping paper we chose for a birthday Saturday. To make any shape into a card using a gypsy simply take the base layer of the design copy and paste it so you have 2, make sure both shapes are welded, mirror the one on the left and line them up side by side and let them overlap enough so they will be connected when you cut it out, that is where you will fold your shaped card. You kids will have fun gluing on the rest of the design as mine did. So easy!

Mother’s Day Photo Display

Happy Friday folks! I seem to be mostly over the illness that knocked me down yesterday and here is a Photo display I made with the Gothic Arch SVG templates from Lindsay’s stamp Stuff:

It was so easy. Using Sure Cuts a Lot software and my Cricut machine I welded some of the arches that came in the kit to make the base and die cut the borders, frame and legs out of contrasting paper, added a photo and some of my homemade buttons and viola! A mother day card and gift all in one!

Here is a look at the Gothic Arch Template kit:
