Life is a Bowl of Cherries {to Paint!}

Howdy friends! The other day while making lunch for the kids I snagged a handful of cherries, they were too pretty not to paint:

DCF 1.0

I used Prismacolor colored pencils to draw and paint these on a scrap of creamy yellow mat board. Watch the video tutorial for step by step instructions:

Let me beย the first to wish you a happy Valentine’s Day! I love Valentine’s day, I always have, I mean what’s not to love? Also since it is February 14th that means that this (the shortest month of the year but in the North it feels like the longest!) is half over and I don’t know about you but I am ready for March to roar in and bring with it some spring! This has been the snowiest winter I can remember-and living in Maine that says something! Anyway, back to Valentine’s Day, here are some gifties for my peeps:

I wrapped the presents in this beautiful birdcage paper (dollar spot at target, it will be cheap tomorrow LOL!) and made some quick tags using my Cricut & SCAL software and the SVG files in the A Little Lovin set from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff….

Did I mention that EVERYTHING in my shop is 40% off today only!?! What are you waiting for? SHOP ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you have a wonderful day with your loved ones, I can’t wait to see all of the lovely Valentines my kids will bring home from school today and I hope they enjoy the gifts from me…

$1 retirement stamp sets and new Valentine goodies!

Hey! It’s time to make room for new product in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop at MyGrafico and I have a bunch of retiring sets that you can snag for $1, You will still be able to purchase the sets in my Shophandmade shop {at full price} but why not grab a deal now?

I have been in the mood for Valentine’s day this week {with a cold New England winter ahead it is something nice to look forward too plus I have ALWAYS loved Valentines day!} Here are some cards I made with the SVG die cutting files that are included in my new A Little Lovin’ kit from Lindsay’s stamp Stuff, I used my Cricut and SCAL software to die cut all the shapes.

I love how these “sweet” cards are not Valentine specific, heck you can use these long after Valentines day!

And of course a valentines card for hubby {let’s hope he isn’t reading my blog today ๐Ÿ™‚ LOL}

Tip: When making a batch of cards arrange all of your die cuts on one mat separated by color, then place different colored papers on the mat. That is how I cut these designs all in one pass in about 5 minutes!

Now here is a look at the A Little Lovin’ set, you get clip art in JPG and PNG format plus fully editable EPS and SVG art files and SVG cutting files that have been specifically optimized for die cutting.

Did you know that most of my clip art sets come with SVG cutting files at no extra charge, gotta love a little something extra:) Speaking of a little something extra here is a cute Valentine digital stamp freebie. To download click on the image, then right-click on the larger picture and choose “Save as” Easy peasy (and no waiting for 4shared-I hate that!)

Now let’s see what the LSS DT have cooked up for you this week:

One last thing…a tip: to make a card really special hand stamp an envelope as I did to go with my “Who Loves You” card, it is a fun way to break in new rubber stamps or use some old favorites and as a bonus your card will brighten the day of the mail carriers who deliver it!

Sweet & Simple!

I had the idea to make the simple cards after seeing the sketch over at 2sketches4you. I gor the stamp from the dollar bin at JoAnns the other day (it’s one of the Studio G dollar stamps) and I thought of the cute button bits stamps from PTI (I want them but do not have them) and thought that this cherry stamp would be great to use in this fashion. I used a black marker to ink the stem and leaves and stamped that onto my punched circles then stamped the leaves again on a patterned green scrap and paper pieced it. Then I glued on the buttons, easy peasy!

Stamps: Crafty Secrets (hello sweetie) Studio G (cherries), cardstock: GP

For the card bases I cut a 11″x8.5″ white cardstock the long way to make 2-5.5″x4.25″ top fold cards. I used a cuttlebug folder (that a got with a set of dies for $2 at Big Lots in June) to emboss the front of the card, stamped “Hello Sweetie” on the front, tied on a ribbon and viola! It was done!

I wanted cool black and white envelopes for the cards but did not want to use up 2 sheets of this delicious paper to do it so I thought about it and trimmed the 12″x12″ sheet in half and using my scor-pal made the envelopes. I scored the envelope at 3.5″ and 9.25″ (you have to slide the paper down because there is no 1/4″ mark there) then I turned the paper and lined it up between the 3″ and 9″ and scored on the first triangle, then flipped the paper and scored the other side at the first triangle so it is symmetrical. Then I trimmed the rectangles on the top and bottom panels and glued up the bottom flap. It is great to get 2 envelopes form one sheet of paper! BTW if you want an envelope to cut in your cricut out of a 6″x12″ paper use the bb_envie file from my Envelope Bonanza SVG set ๐Ÿ™‚ {{Shameless plug}}

This qualifies for the following challenges: 2sketches4you, All Sorts (paper piecing), Alphabet Challenge (punches), Aly’s Sunday (get dotty), Bee-Crafty (ribbons & Bows), I did It (anything goes), One Stitch at a time (punches), Sentimental Sundays (ribbon) and Stamptacular Sundays (buttons & bows)
