Video Tutorial: Homemade Paper Tape!

Hi Folks! I’ve been waiting to post this video since August! I used some awesome button and Jewel stamps from Pink Persimmon in this tutorial and they kept selling out of them so I wanted to wait until they were back in stock because you might want them after seeing this! I made paper tape out of stamps and sticker paper, it was so fun and easy, you can see the tape on this card, the video is at the end of the post:

I made a ruffle out of crepe paper and used glitter nail polish to add quick drying bling to the jewel. I colored my rhinestone with marker to match and made my own seam binding. You can see more tips like that in my latest article in Scrap & Stamp Arts!

Also I wanted to tell you that I have a new article out in the January 2012 issue of Scrap & Stamp Arts Magazine! It is filled with my favorite tips on making your own craft supplies titled, what else? The Frugal Crafter! Check it you on newsstands or get your copy here.

Stamp Swap Saturday!

Last week I asked some of the stamp designers in the What’s Digital Stamping? Yahoo group if anyone wanted to do a stamp swap and Linda and Tiffany jumped at the chance. You will see what they made with the swapped stamps on their blogs. Here is what I made with their stamps. Firstly I have a tea bag holder card and bookmark made with Teapot and Teacup digistamps from TiffanyDoodles:

Digital stamp: TiffanyDoodles, Paper: GP, Bazzil, Markers: Prismacolor

Here is the inside of the card, I simply made a pocket with a scrap of paper to hold a teabag:

What a fun way to share a cup of tea!

Next I used the Button Heart Digistamps from Linda Tieu:

Digital Stamp: Tortagialla {Linda Tieu}, Paper: GP, Staples, Bazzil, Rubber stamps: Inque Boutique

I printed the image twice, one on cream and once on white cardstock. I trimmed around the cream with deco scissors, inked the edges with brown and colored the buttons with warm gray 40%. Then I colored the buttons printed on white with muted pastel shades, trimmed them and adhered them over the buttons on the cream with pop dots.

Look at all of the dimension!

Now check out what Tiffany and Linda made! {And be sure to leave some love when you do!} Thanks for stopping by and till next time happy Crafting!
