Where for art thou, Mojo?

I’m wondering where my crafty mojo went this week? Luckily over the weekend I made this set with stamps from the Love Grows here set, paper from the Shabby Houndstooth paper pack and my brand spanking new Prismacolor Markers I bought from Blick Art Materials on sale!

Pretty and quick! Perfect for last minute cards and gifts!

The tag and pocket are a SVG file I designed and you can download it here free! Downlad the SCallop tri-fold card SVG here. Download the scallop tag svg here. You can use it on a scrapbook page to hold hidden journaling or as a cute tag pocket like I did here:

I am loving my new prismacolors! Stamps/template: Lindsay's stamp stuff

I had a scrap of the pink houndstooth paper so I made a simple card with the cherries from Love Grows Here, I used my Cricut and scal software to cut the scallop mat (you can save 10% on scal software until 2/28 with this coupon: 4190114)

Actually I colored the card with just my Bic Markits because my Prismacolors were not here yet, not bad for inexpensive markers!

I have a new kit in the shop this week, it is a layered digital stamp in png and jpg format and a box template on sale for $1.99:

Now lets see what the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff DT has been up to this week! That will kick-start my crafty mojo! With a new month we have a new Guest DT Rebekah Doak, she has not one but two lovely LSS projects on her blog so be sure to scroll down, I am looking forward to a month of inspiring projects from her!

New Papers & a Freebie!

I was looking for some basic houndstooth paper for a while and darn it, I couldn’t find any! So I decided I would make some myself and make them EXACTLY the way I wanted. Here are a few projects made with my new Shabby Houndstooth papers available atย  Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff:

Papers & Stamps & Heart pocket template: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Pink Labels: DCVW, Frame Die Cut: Mujka Design, Ribbon, Target

Here is a look at the papers, the Shabby Houndstooth paper pack has a lightly distressed and textured look and the pattern is smaller, while the Uptown Houndstooth pack had a clean bold look with a larger print. All paper in both packs are 12″x12″ at 300 dpi and they are on sale for $2.50 each!

6 papers on sale for $2.50 for a limited time:)

Also on sale for $2.50 for a limited time!

To print my papers to scale on my 8.5″x11″ printer I selected “8.5”x11″ borderless” then clicked “center on page” and made sure the scaling box said 100%. You can print it smaller if you like too, it is digital so it is up to you! I also used Digital stamp from the Love Grows here set on this page and a cute SVG photo mat from Mujka Design that you can cut with your Cricut if you have SCAL software. I used my Cricut to cut the scalloped mat on the card and the woven heart valentine pocket, you can get that SVG in the Sweet Treat SVG set. The stamp on the card is also from the Love Grows here set.

I used inexpensive Bic Mark-it markers to color the digital stamps!

I used inexpensive Bic Markits to color the digital stamps!

To get a nice blended color with my Bic Mark-its I first colored the leaves with bright green, then colored the highlight with yellow (t will lighten the green like magic!) then I added dark green shadows and blended them with the bright green. The cherries are done the same way, I colored them bright red, colored the highlights with pink, then outlined them with a dark berry color and blended that with the bright red, it took seconds and the effect is wonderful!

I realized after I took the photo that this is the back of the pocket so the heart ribbon is upside down, oh well, nobodies perfect ๐Ÿ™‚

And now for the freebie! I got a little wild making some papers the other day and I thought my blog readers could use a little bit of funkyness so here are some funky woodgrain papers for ya, enjoy!

Now lets see what my DT has been up to this week, be sure to swing by their blogs and leave them some love:)

8 Birthday Cards and a Freebie!

Isn’t it funny when you need to get something done for a deadline you struggle but when you have a free day you can knock out 6 cards in an hour? That is how it is for me anyway ๐Ÿ™‚ I never seem to have enough birthday cards so I decided to make a set of 8 using my new Recipe card and Folio SVG cutting file with my All Around Phrases, Sweet Stuff and Love Grows here digital stamp sets:

Stamps, Template: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

All of my stamp sets work well with each other, I think the most versatile is the All Around Phrases digital stamp set because you can pop any other digi stamp (use the png version) in the center and you have an easy to trim element, plus anything in a circle is just cuter ๐Ÿ™‚ This card features this weeks sketch from 2s4u, when you need a quick card nothing is easier than using a sketch:

Stamp: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Paper: K&co, Sketch: 2sketches4you

Here are more of the cards in the set:

Stamps: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Paper: K&Co

Stamps/Bingo card: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Paper: K&co

How about a freebie? I am trying to better organize my scrap space so I have another ribbon organizer for you. Last weekend I gave you the ribbon bobbins, here is a ribbon/fiber card to cut with your Cricut and Sure Cuts a Lot (SCAL) software. If you have a cricut you should have SCAL, it has been around for almost 2 years and has great customer support AND I have a coupon code to save 10% on SCAL: 9388463 it is good til the 18th. If you have SCAL 2 and havent updated recently the new update (SCAL 2.006) is great, you can break apart a design to arrange it on you mat, auto fill, and convert simple clip art into cutting files FUN! The update is free if you have scal 2:)

Here are the fiber cards loaded up with ribbons and fibers, pretty!

Download the Ribbon/Fiber Card SVG here. This make any size card you want!

Download a version that will cut with Design Studio if you have the George Cartridge here. This makes the larger card.

Here is a look at how I cut the cards in SCAL. SCAL lets me re-size the cards however I like for large or small ribbons. I think if I cut more big ones I'll use chipboard for strength.

Now lets see what the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff Senior DT has been up to this week, the have a new Guest Designer this month too, take a look:

Easy X-Mas Cards and a Freebie!

The countdown is on folks, Thanksgiving is 3 days away and we only have 32 shopping days til Christmas! As a kid I remember each Thanksgiving, after the meal had been eaten and the dishes washed (while dad watched football) mom would address all of her Christmas cards in her beautiful penmanship. My penmanship is NOT lovely but I can make a cute card (I hand make 70 each Christmas) and if you are hand making all of your cards they need to be quick so here are a few quick cards you can make using stamps from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff:

Stamps: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, MarkersL: Bic Mark-Its, PP: American Crafts, Cardstock: SU!, Georgia Pacific, tool: Scor-Pal & Scor-Bug

Tips: Print out a bunch of images ahead of time and color and trim them while watching TV. This wreath only took a few minutes to color and trim, since I placed the label over the center I didn’t bother to trim the middle, what a time saver!ย  Get the look of stitching by rolling a paper piecer (I used the scor-bug) over the edges of your paper and use a pen to draw the thread! Total card time 10 minutes! The label is from the Christmas Cupcakes set and the Wreath is from Christmas Potpourri both available at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff!

Stamps, Paper, Clipart: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Cardstock: Georgia Pacific (white), Bazzil (teal), Markers: Bic Mark-Its

I used the pattern paper, cupcake stamp and label from X-Mas Freebie kit in these cards. You can find the Bingo card (there are 36 in the set) and the ornament stamps in the Christmas Potpourri digital stamp set. The cupcake card took 10 minutes to make because of the coloring but the other card was done in 5!

Stamps, paper, tag: Lindsay's stamp Stuff x-mas freebie kit

Cricut Expression Tip: To die cut around a digital stamp place your digi stamped paper on your mat. Use your arrow keys to bring the blade to the center of the stamp. Press the “Center Point” button, select your shape and size and press “cut”. You will have a perfectly cut image every time! It is also easy to die cut your stamps using SCAL software. Place the shape you want on the mat on your computer screen then stick your digistamped paper on the same place on the real mat, insert it into the cricut and cut. BTW you can save 10% on scal using this coupon code: 9794821

Stamps and elements: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

Here is a look at all of the Christmas set available from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff, at only $5 each you can afford them all! Click on the pictures to go to the set.

Brand new in the shop today!

A perfect kit for quick Christmas Cards!

Any excuse to make cupcakes right?

Happy Monday!

Wow, what a week! I’m so glad everyone in my house is over the flu and back to their normal routines! My poor craft room was severely neglected, I thought I was going to find cobwebs when I went down there to make this. I used the Arched Window card from Creative Cuts and More,ย  the sketch over at 2S4Y and digital stamps from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff for this one:

lss_cc&M_archwindow

Digital Stamps: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Die Cut: Creative Cuts and More, Markers: Bic Mark-its, Rubber stamps: (brown snowflakes) Delta

I used stamps from the Christmas Cupcakes digital stamp set. The cool thing about digital stamps is the ability to alter them to suit your needs, to make the wreath I used the holly from the holly cupcake wrapper, I just used the magic wand tool in Paint Shop Pro to select my images and arranged them in a circle to make a wreath. The trees are a cupcake wrapper too but I shrunk it down a bit to fit my card. The merry Christmas and December 25th label are also included in the Christmas Cupcakes Digital stamp set. The circle sentiment on the inside of the card I used a freebie that you can grab here.

Last week I introduced you to the 7 new Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff Designers. This week they are raring to go with their first official LSS projects, click on their names to see their fabulous work (and don’t forget to leave them some love too ๐Ÿ˜‰

Traditional vs. Digital…who wins?

We do!!! Lucky us to beย  crafting at a time when the perfect sheet of paper or stamp can be found in seconds right on our computer! We are also lucky (despite the recession) to have isle after isle of papers, punches, rubber stamps and embellishments to pick from at our craft stores! It is easy to be overwhelmed by all crafting has to offer but if you are smart and think of your computer as a scrapbooking tool you can save money and be at your creative best. Here I made two cards with a similar “feel” one mostly digital, the other mostly traditional, can you tell which one is which?

One card uses digital elements, one used tradtitional elements but they both have the same "feel".

One card uses digital elements, one used tradtitional elements but they both have the same "feel".

Before we go any further I need to have a quick tip with you! If you have a dried up permanent marker (the peach one I used to color the owl on the left was a new but dry Bic Mark-it) you can bring it back to like by placing it tip down in a cup with a bit of goo-gone in it (I used googone ink-away because I found a bucnch on sale!) Let it set for a minute or two then your marker will be as good as new. Save your old markers because with this method you can make some pasltel shades when most of the color is gone!

So, Which one is which?

White Cardstock: Georgia Pacific, Yellow: DCWV, Digital Paper: Digital Freebies, Fonts: Lettering Delights (Woodsy, Woodsy Words, Whoo's Birthday), Other: Foam tape, deco scissors

White Cardstock: Georgia Pacific, Yellow: DCWV, Digital Paper: Digital Freebies, Fonts: Lettering Delights (Woodsy, Woodsy Words, Whoo's Birthday), Markers: Bic Mark-It, Prismacolor,Other: Foam tape, deco scissors

On this card (above) I used digital paper from Digital Freebies (sign up for their newsletter and you will know when the weekly freebie is available) I cropped the paper to 5″x7″ and used the colored pencil tool in Paint Shop Pro to “ink” the edges then I copied that and pasted it to an new 8.5″x11″ document. I slid it to the bottom corner leaving space above it so this would be my card base. On the edge of the document I typed dingbats (cloud, owl and sentiment) I used the eyedropper tool to make them match the paper, then I printed my sheet. I trimmed out the piece to be used as the card, then I colored and trimmed the elements with permanent markers because they won’t make the printer’s ink smear. I cut a yellow scalloped circle and a smaller circle from cardstock with my cricut and SCAL software, used the small circle to emboss the larger one (for how-to click here), inked it and attached with double stick tape, the other elements I attached with foam tape for more dimension. Obviously this is the digi-card ๐Ÿ˜‰

Paper: K&Co, Cardstock: DCWV, Stamps: Inkadinkado, The Paper Co., Font: Lettering Delights (Woodsy), Other: Cricut+SCAL software, Notch & Die tool: Basic Grey

Paper: K&Co, Cardstock: DCWV, Stamps: Inkadinkado, The Paper Co., Font: Lettering Delights (Woodsy), Other: Cricut+SCAL software, Notch & Die tool: Basic Grey

For the Traditional Card I used Double sided paper from K&Co (this too is a good deal because I buy the pads of 36 sheets on sale fir $6 at Jo-Anns), I cut a scallop strip with my notch&die tool and glued it to the bottom, I used my Cricut and SCAL software to cut the Branch and leaves using the font DB Woodsy and glued that on the card over another embossed scalloped circle. I stamped the owl by inking the stamp first in light orange ink then rocking the edges on a brown inkpad before stamping on white cardstock. O trimmed it closely and adhered with foam tape. Tip: before you use inexpensive clear stamps rub an eraser over them, that will make the ink adhere better, you only need to do it once ๐Ÿ˜‰

So the next time you need the perfect paper, stamp or die cut try using your most powerful scrapbook tool, your computer and you will find savings in both time and money ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by and till next time happy crafting!

It’s Blog Hop Time!!!

I am so excited to be a part of another Creative Cuts and More blog hop! They are releasing some brand new die cut card kits with aย  birthday theme and they are too cute for words! They were put together by our own talented designer Pam Smerker and you can see several projects from the kits throughout the blog hop today. Also for taking part in today’s blog hop I have a coupon code for you to save 15% on your order at Creative Cuts and More, the code is: birthdaydt0915ย ย  Since we have a birthday theme here I made a layout to share with you using my favorite CC&M die cut:ย  11 1/2″ mini scallop circle.

Paper/Dies: Creative Cuts and More

Paper/Dies: Creative Cuts and More

I made a birthday card to go with it using the square scallop filligre frame:

Card: Creative Cuts and More, Digital Stamp: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Rubber Stamps: Inkadinkado, Autumn Leaves, Brads, Ribbon,: Dollar Tree

Card: Creative Cuts and More, Digital Stamp: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Rubber Stamps: Inkadinkado, Autumn Leaves, Brads, Ribbon,: Dollar Tree

I stamped swirls on the inside on the card and heat embossed them in with white EP, the cake is a digital stamp that I colored with Bic Mark-its then glazed with Elmer’s 3-d and glitter paint, the fun part is that the paint is scented so it really smells like a cupcake! Here is what the inside of the card looks like, I rubbed some metallic rub ons over the embossed areas so there is a bit of shimmer there too {it doesn’t show in the photo too well but trust me it simmers and smells like a cupcake!}

Cake Stamp: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Swirl stamps: Autumn Leaves, "Happy Birthday" Stampin up, Paint Elmers, Markers: Bic, Metallic rub-on wax: Craf-T Products
