In today’s video you can see the prizes up for grabs and I will show you how layering media in your coloring books or stamped images for cardmaking can yield beautiful results. I have linked all the supplies I used below the video but feel free to use the supplies you already have:)

Here are the butterflies from the book that I showed in the video. I really love the paper in the Color It books, my markers and pens lay down smoothly but there is still enough tooth for pencil. I really love the depth of marker plus colored pencil as illustrated on the large butterfly but I also love the shimmer from over-layering the gel pen. So many options!

Techniques:

Example 1-Marker + Colored pencil: Color image with marker, let dry and shade and highlight with colored pencil to build richness

Example 2-Marker + Gel Pen: Color with marker, let dry, apply a small amount of dark gel pen to shadow area and blend with silicon tipped tool. Repeat with light shades until satisfied. Works well with glitter gel pens.

Example 3 – Colored Pencil + Gel Pen: Color with colored pencils and then add gel pen over top and blend with silicone tipped tool. The gel pen will stay wetter over the wax pencil so you have more time to blend.

I hope you try some of these techniques and make sure you head over to the Color It website to sign up for the giveaway and Free coloring party! Happy Crafting & Coloring!

Adult Coloring Book GIVEAWAY!!!!

Hi friends! I’ve finally done it! I jumped on the coloring book bandwagon. I did not have far to jump, I’ve been eyeballing these for months. I loved the idea of detailed designs for adults to color (heck, yeah, I’m a stamper after all) but I also wanted to be able to “do” something with the images after I colored them. So today I came up with a couple of ideas for you to make with coloring book pages!

coloritblog

I made a bookmark, greeting card and glittered pen. Watch the video to find out about these beautiful Color It coloring books and to see how to use pages to make fun crafts!

Video!

Would you try an adult coloring book? They are so much fun and I love how you can use the colored designs just as you would patterned paper or a rubber stamp. Or you can just color the images and leave them in the book, or tear out the pages and frame them.  If you want to try before you buy you can download 4 free sample pages from Color It here! You can purchase the coloring books I used today on the Color It website or on Amazon. I was really impressed with the quality of these books, my kids like these detailed books and they have books from many from different publishers and I can say hands down the paper in these books are nicer than others and something I really enjoy spending my time on. Honestly, I would LOVE it if they came out with a blank marker pad with this paper, it is beautiful!

Oh, did I mention I am giving 3 of these books away?

For a chance to win one of these books simply leave a comment and tell me what one is your favorite. This giveaway is open to USA residents only so be sure to tell me what state you live in (I’m a bit nosey LOL!) I will pick a winner next Tuesday so make sure to get your comment in before then!

I want to thank Color It for sponsoring this video. These books would make an amazing gift for anyone you know who likes to be creative and needs to unwind, heck who doesn’t like to color? Thanks to you for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
