A Valentine Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Creative Cuts and More Valentine blog hop! If you just arrived here from Jenny Erichson’s blog you are in the right place, if you landed here from somewhere else be sure to start the blog hop at the beginning at the Die Cut Diva blog where you will find out how you can win an awesome grab bag of CC&M die cuts! The theme this month is Valentine’s Day (one of my favorite holidays!) here is my project:

A sweet set using dies from Creative cuts and More!

I know a sleigh is normally thought of as a Christmas element but I live in Maine so it is very appropriate. I used the sleigh box in Loganberry Bazzill textured for this. I cut styrofoam to fit in the box and stuck in covered lollipops made with the Small heart #02 die (Just place the pop in between to hearts and secure it with an eyelet or staple on each side)  then I added some flat square marbles on top to anchor the box and give it some sparkle!

A Sled to hold Valentine Lollipops!

For the card I used the 5 1/4 scalloped heart window card and the mini hearts cut from petunia and sweetheart Bazzill cardstock. I cut apart the Bingo Card form the Love grows digital stamp set from Lindsay’s stamp Stuff and adhered the “Love” to the front of the card and the numbers inside. A little paper piercing and scallop scissors complete the look.

Here are a couple more favors I made, this time with a baby shower in mind (little sis is expecting a boy!) I made these with the 11 1/2″ mini scallop circle die out of double-mates cardstock, I love this stuff because you get two colors for the price of one…well it may be a couple  of cents more LOL! The bigger cones were made with half of a scalloped sheet and the standard cones were made with a 1/4 sheet. Don’t be afraid to try making these, even for a big shower because they only take minutes to make. Be sure to try Killer Red Tacky Tape when you assemble these, I even used them to hold on my lace and ribbon! No more burned fingers from the hot glue gun, YAY!

Speaking of burnt fingers I think my new bead kiln is ready for another firing! Till next time happy crafting!

It’s Blog Hop Time!!!

I am so excited to be a part of another Creative Cuts and More blog hop! They are releasing some brand new die cut card kits with a  birthday theme and they are too cute for words! They were put together by our own talented designer Pam Smerker and you can see several projects from the kits throughout the blog hop today. Also for taking part in today’s blog hop I have a coupon code for you to save 15% on your order at Creative Cuts and More, the code is: birthdaydt0915   Since we have a birthday theme here I made a layout to share with you using my favorite CC&M die cut:  11 1/2″ mini scallop circle.

Paper/Dies: Creative Cuts and More

I made a birthday card to go with it using the square scallop filligre frame:

Card: Creative Cuts and More, Digital Stamp: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Rubber Stamps: Inkadinkado, Autumn Leaves, Brads, Ribbon,: Dollar Tree

I stamped swirls on the inside on the card and heat embossed them in with white EP, the cake is a digital stamp that I colored with Bic Mark-its then glazed with Elmer’s 3-d and glitter paint, the fun part is that the paint is scented so it really smells like a cupcake! Here is what the inside of the card looks like, I rubbed some metallic rub ons over the embossed areas so there is a bit of shimmer there too {it doesn’t show in the photo too well but trust me it simmers and smells like a cupcake!}

Cake Stamp: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Swirl stamps: Autumn Leaves, "Happy Birthday" Stampin up, Paint Elmers, Markers: Bic, Metallic rub-on wax: Craf-T Products

CC&M Blog Hop Time!!!

Yippee Skippie, it is time for the Creative Cuts and More Blog Hop. If you just arrived here from Jen’s blog thanks for joining us and WOW, wasn’t her project FAB! If you are jumping in in the middle of the hop make sure you start from the beginning over at the Die Cut Diva blog…rumor has it that there is some blog candy hidden along the way 😉 Here is my Creative Cuts project, I used the Castle mini album cut from brown chipboard:

and another of the sweet little imagenessance (I have no idea how to spell that!) stamps I won a couple weeks ago!

First I traced all if the pieces on to Autumn Leaves paper, trimmed them and glued them to the blank chipboard pages. Don’t forget to color the backs! Then I sanded and inked the edges, added photos, stamped images, bling and punches. I bound the book together by punching holes with my Crop a dial and inserting a cheap-o binding coil from Staples (you get 25 11″ long coils for $5!) Who need a Bind it all? OK I’d love one but it’s not in the budget so this will have to do 🙂

Now that you have seen my Creative Cuts and More mini Album (I know your disappointed that I have no candy for you 😦 ) you can hop right on over to Guest Designer Eva’s blog to see what she has in store for you. Thanks for stopping by and as always happy crafting!

How’s Everything in Your Bowl?

It’s not just for hair styling anymore…Hair gel was used to make the water in this card and my homemade dew drops are the bubbles. This is a cute, fun, quick card you can send to anyone you want to catch up with. The fishbowl card is from Creative Cuts and More.

Die Cut Card: Accucut/creativecutsandmore.com

Die Cut Card: Accucut/creativecutsandmore.com

How to make it: Put a tablespoon of hair gel (clear, I get it at the dollar store) in a Ziploc baggie. Add a drop of blue re-inker or watercolor and beads, glitter, dew drops or whatever. Remember a little goes a long way! For extra protection fold the zippered end over and secure it with tape. Trim a piece of cardstock 1/8 inch smaller than the card front and stamp your scene and attach it to the inside of the card, tape it to the baggie. Then I stamped “How’s everything in your bowl?” on the inside of the card.

Stamp Credits: Fish: Stampin up, Crab: Rubber Soul, Plant: Heidi Grace, Sentiment: Studio G * on the fish and sentiment I used a black marker to ink only the portain of the stamp I wanted.

This was so fun to make, I hope you try a hair gel card! For more inspiration check out this tutorial (It’s where I learned this technique!) Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

PS. I also want to thak Kim Ross for designing the fantastic watermark I used on the photo, you rock Kim!

An Easter Freebie for You!

Daylight saving time is here, that means that spring is just around the corner and boy howdy am I ready! I thought I would get as jump start on the Easter season by crafting a little chick and basket with my Cricut and SCAL software and of course sharing them with my blog readers. Don’t you love my dainty spring colors?

Paper: MAMBI, Eggs: Accucut, Flowers: Sizzix, Chick and Basket my Design (download below)

Dainty, Ha! I live in a part of the world that is perpetually grey  (or blindingly white) 5 months out of the year so I crave the COLOR! I’ll have to work on the dainty thing I guess 🙂

I used spray adhesive to cover the chick with yellow fun flock. TIP: Before using your flock shake it in a larger jar to fluff it up a bit then pour it over your glue. Do this over a sheet of paper so you can dump the leftover flock back in it’s original jar. It’s amazing how much flock they pack into a little jar!

This is a 5 1/4" basket!

As you can see you can cut a fairly large basket from a 12″ sheet of paper.

Get the basket Design Studio .cut file here.

Get a printable basket here, and chick here.

The chick SVG includes 2 wings and 2 legs that are not attached but if you want to attach the legs or delete them you can do so in inkscape, I don’t mind a bit 😉 I also think this would make a cute rubber ducky too!

I made a  smaller basket in Design Studio using the George cart and the 6″x12″ mat. You will need it resize each shape to make a larger box (yes, I know it’s a pain, maybe one day PC will include a select all feature.)

Do you have a spring project to share? Well if you do you could win $50 worth of clear stamps! Check out the Pink Persimmon blog to see how. Have fun with your spring projects and till next time happy crafting!
