I got a haircut, took a week off and now I’m back!

Hi friends! I just thought I’d pop in with an update as I did not blog much last week. I was away at the cabin by the lake for a week and didn’t have time to schedule all of my posts before I left. You can catch up on any video you might have missed on my YouTube channel. I thought I’d share my pre vacation Sat Chat with my Corona-haircut my daughter gave me first. didn’t she do an awesome job?

Clearly I needed some time off when I filmed this LOL!

And here is the video of what I brought with me for vacation arting. Filmed before corona haircut…

Click here for a list of what I brought in the video description on YouTube.

Annnnnd….I only used the watercolors! Lila used the pencils so that was’t so bad. The gouache never got opened. Oh well, I did what I pleased that’s what vacation is for. I’ll share a vacation art update soon (probably in the next Sat chat as I am in need of material LOL!)

I hope the weather is nice where you live so you can get out in nature and camp, hike and shake the dust off for a few days (or even an afternoon.) We can all benefit from a change of scenery, especially now. Take care and til next time happy crafting!

  1. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the haircut! It makes you look 20 yrs younger! You are awesome! Keep up the good work!

    1. Whattayamean? She never looked a day older than 25. No matter what she does to her hair or makeup, she is wholesomely gorgeous.

  2. Your daughter did a fabulous job on your haircut.
Your last Sat Chat was great because it was real and hilarious at the same time. As to what you were saying about feeling stale in your content – I don’t think that is the case. I do think that you need to try and find a way to have fun away from the camera and not feel guilty about it. I do believe that you said this in one of your previous videos 😉
I love all of your content and I also rewatch videos of yours especially if I am stuck and don’t know how to do something.
Weather wise in Australia we are in Winter but some days are really nice and others the wind feels like it is going straight through you.

  3. Your hair is FABULOUS!!!! You look almost ten years younger and
Fabulous as well! It also comes through in your voice! Stay happy
and well and continue to be the inspiration you are. Most Sincerely,
    Joyce Gauss

  4. Love, love, love the new you, Lindsay! Your daughter did an awesome job on the haircut! Glad your vacation was relaxing for you.

  5. Loved your comment on adult coloring books….how funny! I’m so glad you were able to get away with your family. A cabin in the woods, on the water sounds delightful. Like everyone else, I love your hair! It’s is youthful and compliments your face so well. Good job, Lila! Too hot in Tennessee to do anything except stay in the a.c. Even if one could stand the heat the humidity is like a wet wool blanket thrown over your head, but we make up for it with our other seasons. Thanks for sharing the stash you took on vacation.

  6. Lindsey, I love your new haircut. Your daughter did a fabulous job. I am sorry you had such a rotten week. We all have them from time to time. But you should give yourself more credit. If I had a major house improvement going on in the middle of this corona virus shutdown with three kids stuck at home ALL day instead of school and outside the house activities, anyone would have some down days or weeks or months. You are amazing. I got interested in making greeting cards a few years ago and a friend recommended watching your videos. I have loved them and learned a lot from you. I enjoy your personality and watch almost every thing that you post. I have to admit that your talent in your painting videos tends to overwhelm me so I don’t always watch them. I am so new to the world of art and know so little that it doesn’t take much for me to realize that I know so little. Please keep to your art and do take some me time.

  7. Hi Lindsay,
We all go through times when we have bad days/weeks. You have passed that period and you are know happy, lively, carefree and you look younger with your beautiful haircut. Your daughter did a wonderful job. Age is only a number.
Enjoy your time off and relax.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talents and thoughts with us.
To you and your family keep well and safe.
    God bless.
    Linda H.

  8. Your hair’s adorbs! Speaking of quarantine, my elderly mother had an emergency so I had to bust out of quarantine and haul booty to another part of the country to take care of her. I thought it would only be a few days, and for once in my life, I didn’t pack art supplies. Now I’ve been here for two weeks, and looking at another month, at least. I need to buy some watercolors and waterbrushes and paper online to make it through this rough patch with my sanity. I already have, at home and unavailable, several Daniel Smith tubes, a White Nights plastic palette set, a tiny field box of W&N, and a Kuretake Gansai Gambi set. So, in order to rationalize this purchase by getting something a bit different, what to choose, quickly? Are the new Senneliers less goopy than previous reports? I am aiming for anything under $75-ish.

    1. It really depends where you live, if you are somewhere humid any paint with honey in it is going to be goopy in this weather. Try renesans pans (a little creative on ETSY) in you are in a high humid area right now but if it’s dry where you are the senneliers are lovely.

  9. Love your new haircut too! I’ve been a fan of short hair for many years now and will never ever go back to my long locks. Looks great on you!
I know you are going through a lot of pressure and a lot of changes right now. It’s difficult having people in the house working on the addition plus all the work that’s going on outside. It’s very stressful. I know I’ve been there. But things will calm down soon once all the work is done and you’ll be able to focus on being creative again. Just give yourself a break and do other things that you feel need doing around the house. When you least expect it inspiration will strike! However, I think one change coming in the future for you is a need to reinvent or change your vision of your channel. In the past your channel was built around kids crafts and other crafty things that you were involved with but maybe no longer feel so passionate about. Focus on the artistic and creative things that bring you the most joy now and the ideas will flow! Good luck and happy crafting!

  10. I have had a hard few days. It has been emotional. It is nice to knwo that I am among friends and sometimes we have these days. I love your hair cut. Your skin, you look youthful. Not that you didn’t before but yeah…
