I’m Doing a Watercolor Livestream Today, No Fooling!

Edited to add the photo of the painting done on the livestream. Reply of this tutorial can be found in the player below:)

Hi friends! I have had TONS of requests to bring back the livestreams since so many people are stuck at home these days. I’m a bit out of practice but today I’m gonna try! Here is what we will paint, It’s from a photo I took the other day. Apparently Mother Nature has a sense of Humor because it’s snowing today too….

Make sure to watch the livestream on the YouTube watch page at 12:30pm today if you want to chat live or ask me questions. My Daughter Maizy will be in studio to relay questions to me as hopefully a few of out lovely moderators will be in chat to help with commonly asked questions too.

This is a pretty easy painting. We will only use 3 intense colors: Alizarin Crimson (a cool red), Prussian Blue (a cool blue) and Permanent Yellow Deep (a warm yellow. Feel free to substitute with colors or brands you have. If you want these colors they are available open stock or in my new signature set of Lukas 1862 Watercolors from Jerry’s Artarama! The set also comes with a block of Fabriano Artistico 100% cotton watercolor and Mimik watercolor brushes. We will be using that set in today’s video. You can find the reference photo I took here.

One more thing, I know many of you have a lot of time on your hands these days and there is nothing like art to unwind and relax. Plus learning a new skill is proven to make us happier to all month I will be offering a my full online courses at 50% off with coupon code: NOFOOLING visit my online school to see the classes available and add the coupon code by click “add coupon” during checkout.

I hope to see you at 12:30pm eastern time on YouTube for this fun painting lesson. Don’t worry, the replay will be available to watch later. Hope to see you there, happy crafting!

  5. Hi Lindsay. Do any of the watercolor classes contain reference sketches? I find that they make it easier to get started.
    Thanks

    • the essential tools and techniques and Feathers and foul have patterns you can trace. The Handpainted Holidays class also has patterns to trace for the cards but not the tags. The flower workshop is a stroke by stroke class with little or no drawing and the landscape has a very easy drawing. If you are a beginner the Essential Tools & Techniques for watercolor is the best place to start.
